  1. This is how Sabre fans are when you give them anything....chills
  2. I think if the re-sign Byram it would be more of a bridge deal, like 2 years; which is what they should have done with Power and Samuellson instead of giving them unearned long term contracts
  3. Welcome to the Buffalo Sabres!! A team with no direction
  4. WGR talking Marchand. He's 37 and doesn't score like he used to, but he certainly would be a culture changer. He also plays LW, which is our greatest need at forward and won't be super pricey. Getting him to consider Buffalo is the issue.
  5. I like Provorov but not to the point of paying him that much. at $8m, keep Byram (who's a different type byt prob better than Provorov) and sign an UFA winger (Ehlers...)
  6. Get Jake Allen and Ehlers. Allen would cost $5million, Ehlers $7.5million - we can afford both while keeping Byram but it would be tight. Would love to dump Samuelsson somehow
  7. Fair. Good analysis. I'll further your pint by saying scoring wasn't and isn't our problem anyway (we were 10th in league in goals and 2 goals away from tieing the leafs for 7th). Team defense is the issue; tied for 3rd worst last year. Right now, I believe our defense is better, our goalies are not. With a team GAA of 3.50 and a hideous save % of .888 (UPL at .887) we desperately need an NHL goalie. I know the defensemen were partially resposible for the bad goalie stats but not 100% responsible. UPL is not a #1 goalie in this league and Levi isn't there that (and I don't know if he gets there TBH)
  8. They won't sign Gavrikov, though I like the player a lot. Guessing a lot of the reason they don't want to sign Byram is they don't want to allocate that amount of money to D. Coming off a contract paying him $5.875million per year, Gavrikov is going to be paid a lot.
  9. Defensively better, offensively worse. Know what would make this team better? Having an NHL goalie on the roster. Jake Allen should be the focus at 6pm today, followed by Ehlers. Robertson is probably a pipe dream
  10. Google says Kulich shoots left so would most likely be a LWer. Moving Tage to Center, we'd have Tage 1c, Norris 2c. McLeod 3c
  11. Pretty sue Joe Marino reads this board as he just mentioned Voronkov as a possible guy for Byram - I'm glad I could do the research for you Joe!!
  12. Yep - that's what makes it make no sense. Unless he has and Ekblad type plan in UFA - and why would an Ekblad type come to a place with taxes and only cold weather trees.
  13. The only D i draft at 9 is Smith. Otherwise it's a forward
  14. Yep Martone would be a ridiculous get at 9. Martone will be gone before 9
  15. Great - but then what's Adams plan for Dahlin's partner?
  16. If we trade nobody good away we need at minimum 1 top 6 LW, and I would argue a starting goalie
  17. He (ADAMS) will trade down in the draft. For what/whom, nobody knows. Anybody do 9, UPL and a lesser prospect for 10 and Gibson?
  18. Yep - but then you have to consider cap space doesn't matter as much to the Sabres as they're always $10m under
  19. $5m cap hit won't hinder a Tuch signing. Theoretically we just saved $5.5m in cap by trading Peterka (compared to the two guys we got back).
  20. Of course but they're not giving up 2 for that package
  21. Rosen has 0 goals, 1 assist and is -6 in 15 games with Buffalo. I know it's only a handful of games, he's only 22 and he's produced decently in Rochester but I would traded Rosen for anyone at this point (certainly as a part in a Rust trade). Some players just don't translate to the NHL.
  22. That's as is. If KA adds nothing else to the forward group, he's more stupid than I already think he is. Hoping Byram is extended. If so the D should be better than last year. Goalie is still a ? How about: 12 and rosen for 9 and rust Sign Ehlers Trade UPL + soemthign small for Gibson I think this roster would be better offensively, have a better defensive conscience and be better in goal.
