  1. I believe Savoie (2), Lingren, Rosek and Kozak. A lot of hitting too, fun to watch. Johnson has looked great as has our 7th round pick from 2022 (names starts with a "P" big guy and Novikov.
  2. And what did Pegs by the team at? $200m? That's (a) a good tax write-off for what he has been losing and (b) a nice appreciation
  3. Yes he was, but, being 23 years old, he should be at this point. In saying that, he's playing the right side for the first time ever. I also liked Lingren and Rosen in the first
  4. Agree - Oloffson, UPL and a 3rd should be enough to get it done. Briere can then eat some salary and trade Oloffson for a 2nd or 3rd. I do like the tandem of Levi/Hart a lot
  5. So "forced trades" aren't actual trades? Interesting.....Would seem to me that "forced" trades are harder than "real" trades as other GM's know you have to trade the player?? Seems to me that he didn't do too badly on these "forced" non-trades: Eichel for: Tuch, Krebs, Rosen, Greenway Reinhart for: Levi and Kulich Ristolainan for: Hagg, Oslund and Wahlberg I hope you can continue to tread water in your glass half empty view.......
  6. Trading for Tuch and Levi seems to have made an impact. Krebs to a lesser degree, Kulich soon. Reinhart for Levi and Kulich seems to be a grandslam at this point
  7. Know who would look great on that Cozens/JJP line? Tatar. Very good offensively and a bltch to play against
  8. His success is a big part because of the Boston system. We didn't let Ulmark walk, he chose to walk. And who could blame him picking Boston over Buffalo?? Small sample size BUT it is alarming
  9. I would have Comrie as my starting goalie in Rochester and send UPL in a trade for Hart, Markstrom or Hellebuyck
  10. There's a lot of time left in the offseason, but, at this point, Adams has not done enough in this offseason. Hopefully things change
  11. Levi doesn't have a problem with the high glove (corner) shot because he remains tall. He has an upright style not a butterly one. This style leaves him vulnerable low to the corners, but, he counteracts this with elite leg quickness - watch the first NYR game where he anticipates a potential redirection and kicks out his right pad, making an amazing save look routine. UPL has size, that's it. He's very weak on his glove side, has below average quickness, below average positioning and below average rebound control. He's still young in goaltending age but that's a lot of issues to improve upon. KA is playing a very dangerous game if he's relying on Levi to start and UPL to back up. Comrie is probably the better backup (2 major injuries last year derailed his season), but if Comrie backs up, what do you do with UPL? Not keeping 3 goalies and UPL wouldn't clear waivers an make it to Rochester. Best solution is trade for a Hart, Marstrom type (with UPL in the trade) and stash Comrie in Rochester in case of injury. This, unfortunately, doesn't seem the oath KA is looking at. He has an irrational liking for UPL
  12. Yep - now that the Rochester roster looks solid, there's another roster than makes little sense as presently constructed and needs some loving care.
  13. You are correct in both assumptions. It's a good faith futures contract basically and with his contract in Europe the 9 game thing doesn't come into play. He needs a couple of years of maturing anyway
  14. This would be shocking, but, a reasonable path to go down if KA was willing to part with some assets and go for it: Hypothetical: - Trade UPL, Oloffson, Joker, Rosen, 2024 1st for Hellebuyck. - Hellybuyck signs a 2 year extension for $9m per. This allows for Sabres Cap integrity going forward and allows for Hellebuyck to become a UFA while he's still in his prime and the cap is significantly higher in the summer of 2026. -Levi plays mostly all in Rochester where he can acclimate being a #1 while playing 45-50 games. -Levi becomes Hellebuyck's 1B in 2025 when Comrie is gone. I don't think KA has it in him, plus he love Levi's too much I'm afraid, but: 53 years and still not a cup now's the time for Connor Hellebuyck
  15. what's his goals vs expected? That to me is the best indicator. It may not be good but will be telling. ANA D was so bad it's hard to get any indication on the goalie. Gibson prob isn't worth it given his salary, cost, recent numbers and attitude (pretty sure he turned down the Sabres last year), but, anybody who has confidence in UPL as a viable backup is delusional. He's been horribly erratic.
  16. Yes, Gibson is a top 15 NHL goalie, UPL never will be. Gibson has been beaten down by a defense that makes the Sabres D look like the Bruins. Gibson would be better than fine as Levi's tandem. His team gave up more shots per game last year than any team in the history of hockey. Hockey has been around a long time..... .899 save % last year seucked for him, by far his worst, but compare it to UPL's I have no idea how anyone has faith in UPL progressing. He has underacheived in every league he's played in except for the one year in Juniors. I have much more confidence in Comrie, if he can have a health year
  17. Richard was very good. Novikov will play games for the Sabres. will prob add 30 pounds and with his skating and hitting (not shown in prospect camp) = great 6th round pick
  18. I can't help but go there, it's like a car crash. You don't want to look but can't help it
  19. yep - it's okay to play devils advocate, but half of the people at Buzz just like being negative dbags.
  20. I gree that he's the best option if Briere's demands for him become mroe reasonable
  21. Pesce makes more sense to pair with Power than Hanifan, though I believe Power can work with any partner. Noah is kind of like Helleybuyck in that I love the player but isn't the right fit for the sabres current structure. Same with Gibson. Give me Hart from PHI, who's clearly on the block, but Danny's price has to come down. Hart for UPL, Busch and a condiitonal 1st (If sabres win one round in the playoffs), a 2nd if they don't. Hart is really good on a really bad team. A tandem of Levi and him splitting games for the next 10 years would be nice
  22. Yep but at what cost for the trade
  23. Yep - Joker, Oloff, UPL and a 2024 2nd for Gibson (Net money opened in cap 1.69 million Sign Tarasenko (I'd take Tatar too for $4.5 million per) for 2 years $12m Beginning cap: 5.88 million Gibson cap savings: +1.69 million = 7.57 million Tarasenko cost: -6 million = 1.57 million left roster is at 23
  24. Yep - that was reported a while ago. Nice goalie, nice upside, nice age, nice isn't (2) 1st round picks.
  25. Dozens of offers are made for every trade. Don't read too much into it.
