  1. Byram's being traded after thing shake out, sometime after the initial part of UFA when teams re-access needs.
  2. I think Maccelli was in the doghouse in UTAH over effort or defense or something? He was benched 6 games in a row late in the season: “We had discussions for what he has to bring. His A-game has not been as productive as it has been in the past. Right now we have competitiveness and guys who help us in different roles,” Tourigny said of Maccelli. We need less of this not more. 8 goals 10 assists last year, I'll move on.
  3. No way STL would give up that much for Byram, UNLESS STL thinks the 4 years left on Parayko's contract isn't going to age well? It probably doesnt age well, and the fact he's a RHD doesn't make that much sense in a trade for Buffalo
  4. Josh Allen should try and recruit Mitch Marner and I'm only half joking
  5. What don't you like about him? Not being a donkey, I honestly don't know him all that well with him playing out west.
  6. I disagree 100%. Lindy doesn't nor know players in the draft. He knows the "type" of people he want and probably dictates that to Adams and the scouts, but he's not throwing individual names at the scouts/Adams. He ahs 1 year left on his contract, how much player personel power can he really have. Best case scenario, he gets the team to the playoffs, he scares Toronto in the first round and he rides into retirement, maybe with a consultant role for Buffalo. Likely otucome, the Sabres improve to mid 80 in points, miss the playoffs, he retires, Adams' contract expires and he retires, Jaro takes over and hires his own coach.
  7. Here's a name we should be discussing and I don't think we have: Mikael Granlund Center, LW Age: 33 2024/25: 22 goals, 66 Points Contract Projection: 2 years, $4.975 million -I think he'd certainly be an upgrade on our left side top 6 and he can also play center, sort of of 2025 Zucker but a bit better. Gives us experience and wouldn't break the bank. Not a defensive dynamo but certainly not on Petera's level. -I think he would outpoint Peterka while providing more accountability at a cheaper price tag. He also contributes on both special teams units and is describes as "middle-six winger on a contender who can handle top-line duty on a weaker roster," This has "sabres written all over it," -He'll have suitors, I think 2 years/$12million is a good offer. He's coming off a contract that paid him $20miliion over 4 years. Thoughts?
  8. Yep - that's typical for a 3rd rounder. Hopefully he ends up being a solid bottom pair guy, that would be a win
  9. Theoretically they could trade with Ottawa to get back their 2nd round pick, but they're not that sophisticated
  10. Probably correct. it's hard to acquire differences makers with a mandated "stay $10million under the cap." Pegula missed that economic 101 class where it takes money to make money.
  11. Great player but we're not adding another $9million d contract when we have Dahlin and Power priced what they are Agreed 100% - worth a call KEVIN
  12. Byram on 3rd pair? disagree with this ever happening
  13. Prob too late for Prov rights as UFA basically starts in 5 1/2 hours. prov also reminds me too much of Risto - not enough hockey IQ
  14. Brings Quinton Byfield back into the conversation. Byrum and Oslund for Byfield should be good for everyone
  15. I think Byram is as good as gone. Adams never would talk about "possibly" trading a player and not trade him. It may take a day or so after UFA opens as teams who didn't get the UFA dman that they wanted might reach out to Adams. Unfortunately there's Adams excuse for not being active in UFA right away, other than at Goalie. He won't sign an UFA dman or forward not knowing if Byram is going to be traded (and for whom)? We'll see his normal "rochester UFA signings)
  16. Byram. CLB is losing Proporov so needs a D. They also don't have cap issues.
  17. This is how Sabre fans are when you give them anything....chills
  18. I think if the re-sign Byram it would be more of a bridge deal, like 2 years; which is what they should have done with Power and Samuellson instead of giving them unearned long term contracts
  19. Welcome to the Buffalo Sabres!! A team with no direction
  20. WGR talking Marchand. He's 37 and doesn't score like he used to, but he certainly would be a culture changer. He also plays LW, which is our greatest need at forward and won't be super pricey. Getting him to consider Buffalo is the issue.
  21. I like Provorov but not to the point of paying him that much. at $8m, keep Byram (who's a different type byt prob better than Provorov) and sign an UFA winger (Ehlers...)
  22. Get Jake Allen and Ehlers. Allen would cost $5million, Ehlers $7.5million - we can afford both while keeping Byram but it would be tight. Would love to dump Samuelsson somehow
  23. Fair. Good analysis. I'll further your pint by saying scoring wasn't and isn't our problem anyway (we were 10th in league in goals and 2 goals away from tieing the leafs for 7th). Team defense is the issue; tied for 3rd worst last year. Right now, I believe our defense is better, our goalies are not. With a team GAA of 3.50 and a hideous save % of .888 (UPL at .887) we desperately need an NHL goalie. I know the defensemen were partially resposible for the bad goalie stats but not 100% responsible. UPL is not a #1 goalie in this league and Levi isn't there that (and I don't know if he gets there TBH)
  24. They won't sign Gavrikov, though I like the player a lot. Guessing a lot of the reason they don't want to sign Byram is they don't want to allocate that amount of money to D. Coming off a contract paying him $5.875million per year, Gavrikov is going to be paid a lot.
