  1. Good luck with that. On the 2nd night of a BTB with UPL in net? Chance of winning tomorrow is as close to 0% as it'll be all year.
  2. Today was much better, though I'm not into moral victories. We hit at least 4 posts tonight. Clifton was directly responsible for all 3 goals: Threw up on himself on goal 1, scored on himself on goal two and decided not to clear the front on goal 3. He could have/should have also been scored against on at least 4 other shifts. Never thought I'd say this, but, bench him and put in Bryson next game, or, maybe better yet, send Levi to Rochester (in a paper move) and bring up Johnson and let him play a game.
  3. The positive: Greenway is a hell of a different player when healthy and Benson is here to stay. Levi was excellent tonight. The bad: The Tage line is -2 on the season and has a cumulative 0 points. The worst: Clifton can go away and never come back. -3 tonight and basically singlehandedly lost tonights game.
  4. benson line is great, Levi is trying, rest of team is MIA or worse
  5. CLifton is pure garbage - fcks up a play in the ozone then gets outskated for the first goal. Scores on himself on goal 2. There's a reason Boston told him to go away. Meanwhile Johnson had 3 assists today in Rochester - the clock is ticking quickly. Tage lina MIA again - terrible turnovers by Skinner and Tage on goal #2 Cozens - not sure he's playing, haven't seen him Our best player again is an 18 year old Go Bills
  6. Levi wasn't good tonight but this isn't on him. If Clifton wasn't on the ice for all 7 goals against, he certainly was on for 6 of them. Unmitigated disaster of an experiment putting him with Dahlin. Dahlin was -4 tonight and I can't blame him for any of the goals. Levi won his first 2 ames this year
  7. Preseason - absolutely yes. Clifton all preseason on the top pairing is a big problem.
  8. Levi could have made a save or two more here, but Clifton/Dahlin have been horrible in front of him. The other two pairings have been fine. We know Dahlin is solid so......CLifton needs to play 12 minutes on the 3rd pairing. Hellebuyk would have been lit up tonight behind this effort. 3 sabres are plus tonight, Benson, the demoted Sammy and Joker (who has been quite good
  9. can we end the Dahlin/Clifton experiment. There's a reason Boston benched him in the playoffs last year and he has no right (or ability) to be a top pair defenseman. what did Sammy do (who is +1 tonight btw) to stop playing with Dahiln? Did he turn down a dinner invite from Adams?
  10. As I hope to never see Bryson play another regular season game for the Sabres, I hope to never see Clague and Greenway on the Power play. Btw, if there's any market at all for UPL, Adams should trade him. 3 goalies on an NHL roster is idiotic
  11. nah, I dont like UPL at all, I don't think he's a viable NHL goalie, but he wasn't awful tonight. He is what he is, a guy who can't stop a breakaway who's going to give up close to 4 goals a game. I'm begging Adams to trade either him or Comrie. Carrying 3 goalies is idiotic. I honestly think Cooley may be our 2nd best goalie anwyay Only 2 of our starting 6 d played tonight and Power wasn't good.
  12. Johnson the defenseman? He was the best Sabre on the ice tonight. Power was rusty.
  13. I don't ever need to see Bryson play for the Sabres again. He was literally the worst defenseman in the league last year. Undersized, provides no offsense and can't play defense. Goal 4, he gives away the puck then decides to cover nobody in front of his own net
  14. Joker looks bigger to me? Maybe added some muscle??
  15. not the nest 0 seconds for Power. Poor effort on the 1st goal and didn't have awareness on the second one (when Domi was coming out of the box)
  16. I would switch your 3rd star and 1st star. I disagree with Benson slowing up in the 3rd - that was his best period. He already has a ridiculous 200 ft game at 18 years old. Rosen announced "dont forget about me" in the battle for the last forward spot on the roster probably between him, Rousek and Kulich. This team's pipeline is stacked
  17. I believe Savoie (2), Lingren, Rosek and Kozak. A lot of hitting too, fun to watch. Johnson has looked great as has our 7th round pick from 2022 (names starts with a "P" big guy and Novikov.
  18. And what did Pegs by the team at? $200m? That's (a) a good tax write-off for what he has been losing and (b) a nice appreciation
  19. Yes he was, but, being 23 years old, he should be at this point. In saying that, he's playing the right side for the first time ever. I also liked Lingren and Rosen in the first
  20. Agree - Oloffson, UPL and a 3rd should be enough to get it done. Briere can then eat some salary and trade Oloffson for a 2nd or 3rd. I do like the tandem of Levi/Hart a lot
  21. So "forced trades" aren't actual trades? Interesting.....Would seem to me that "forced" trades are harder than "real" trades as other GM's know you have to trade the player?? Seems to me that he didn't do too badly on these "forced" non-trades: Eichel for: Tuch, Krebs, Rosen, Greenway Reinhart for: Levi and Kulich Ristolainan for: Hagg, Oslund and Wahlberg I hope you can continue to tread water in your glass half empty view.......
  22. Trading for Tuch and Levi seems to have made an impact. Krebs to a lesser degree, Kulich soon. Reinhart for Levi and Kulich seems to be a grandslam at this point
  23. Know who would look great on that Cozens/JJP line? Tatar. Very good offensively and a bltch to play against
  24. His success is a big part because of the Boston system. We didn't let Ulmark walk, he chose to walk. And who could blame him picking Boston over Buffalo?? Small sample size BUT it is alarming
  25. I would have Comrie as my starting goalie in Rochester and send UPL in a trade for Hart, Markstrom or Hellebuyck
