Peyton Krebs signs 2 year 1.45 million AAV contract
Porous Five Hole replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
From GMKA’s press conference on the Peyton Kreb’s signing: ::laughs at the question:: ”I don’t think it needed to take this long (to sign). You’ll have to ask his guys why it did.” -
Whoever Clown Shoes is, do you think you can update your quarterback? It’s week freakin two…not that hard to follow along.

I have friends in the building. The Amerks facilities are fine and they max spend on veteran roster spots every year. The fact that Terry couldn’t make money running the building does not mean anything for the organization. Are you sure about the Hawks? There were rumors of a sale or relocation (Terry doesn’t need two lacrosse teams), but those were just reports back in April and nothing since.

lol you got this

While it is true that the team extended a QO to preserve the team’s rights to the player, it doesn’t mean they can’t hammer out a longer term deal. They gave Malenstyn a QO, but eventually signed him to a two year deal. I would be stunned if Krebs was arrogant enough to not sign his QO.
-
The Sabres gave him a qualifying offer, so the fact that Krebs hasn’t signed it indicates he isn’t happy with either the one year term or the minuscule raise it offers. I imagine he will eventually sign it and be on the ice for day one of camp.

If she wins this thing, I bet she will make an appearance tomorrow at the home opener with her trophy. That would be really cool. Fire up the Pegula jet!

And if you’re curious which tequila, this is the best bottle I’ve found under $50 Cheers Salude Prost

The selection of Power set the course and the timeline goes from there. Then the Dahlin extension. Then the acquisition of Byram. This is going to be the most expensive blue line in the league and I think that’s intentional. I’m not defending any of your GMKA critiques. I’m just pointing out blue line first. Literally no one is disputing any of that. This is exactly what I meant when I said they were “cornered.” You may have said it better as I was drinking tequila and listening to a podcast when I posted.
-
I’ve said this before, but the trajectory of this team was defense-first when they were “cornered” into drafting D at #1 overall twice. It’s never happened before. So this team was going to be built differently than all others for that reason. Blue line first. It is why I don’t mind the Byram trade. Handedness aside (which I personally feel is overrated), getting the best top four D is always how this team was going to be built. You need to put some of your regular conventions aside with roster building to get inline with the Sabres current roster construction. This is Bryram dependent, but if KA is right and he is good (and if Power continues to progress)…the Sabres are going to be a menace to the nhl. Disagree button all you want, but I’m here for it.

It was incredible!! I’ll be honest, I gave up and signed up for an online poker tourney at 10pm. My wife stuck with it and got rewarded with the tennis redemption of a lifetime. What an incredible turnaround! US Open final. WOW.

Glad to hear it. I don’t have Russian tv so all I have are stats. His draft profile said quick feet and slick hands. And given that he was taken #33 overall, I anticipated more scoring so far.

Iga struggled for sure. Jessie had a mental block to overcome, which was being in a QF of a major and she was 0-6 in those previous matches. To get to a semi is a big deal for her…especially as a 30 year old on tour. She has a legitimate shot to get to the final and is 1-0 against her semifinal opponent. Jessie is easy to root for and I’m excited to see how she fares on Friday.
-
Send me a trade offer because I have the same problem in week 12.

Seems like AI is overreacting to my last three selections of the draft. By and large, their ADP and my picks returned pretty good results for most of the draft.

Jessie Pegula just knocked off number one in the world Iga Swiatek and is through to the semis at the US Open!

Johnny Gaudreau and Brother Matthew Killed by Drunk Driver

I read the CBA. You’re guessing. -
On another note, I wish one of my favorite teams could do their job and win games that they’re supposed to. I root for the Virginia Tech Hokies in college football. They were a two touchdown favorite today and lost to Vanderbilt. This after an offseason of hype in which they were expected to be competitive for the first time since (checks notes) Tyrod?? They were down 17-3 at halftime. The Hokies haven't won a game where they trailed by ten or more points in seven years. Think about that. Down ten in the first quarter and the game is literally over. Just win the games you’re supposed to and let’s have a little fun. But not to be for teams I root for.

I think she’s easy to root for. A late bloomer who is likable. Drinking a Heineken during a post match press conference to ease the pain was so dang relatable.

Johnny Gaudreau and Brother Matthew Killed by Drunk Driver

I don’t think this is true. I did some research and found that his family will get his salary this year (9.75MM) and additionally a 1M death benefit. As an aside, Johnny’s earnings have been around 70MM in his career. I have no proof, but I’m sure Johnny had purchased some kind of personal life insurance to protect these future earnings. When you’re in his stratosphere of earnings, it is common practice of wealth management. From the team standpoint, it appears the contract is no longer cap eligible, and is now “new” money to be spent this season. A gofundme was established to assist his brother’s family as he was a father to be this December. Currently, the donations have eclipsed 400k. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-madeline-and-baby-tripp-after-tragedy Many NHL players have contributed, including old friends Eric Robinson & Mark Jankowski. -
Jessie Pegula is into the sweet 16 at the US Open. She has a winnable match to get to the quarterfinals, but then her draw runs into world #1 Iga Swiatek…who looks great. Jessie’s next match is 2024 Olympic Silver medalist Diana Shnaider who is an up and comer (never been this deep in a Major). They play Monday, time TBD.

Yes it did surprise me. Babich was linebackers coach a year ago. This is his first prominent role. So I figured he was going to learn on the job while McD continued to call plays. Like I said, McClappy was in a groove down the stretch last year.
