  1. I know there are going to be some that beat this up, but he has a decent resume and good at adding good players. The BJ are going to be a hard team to play against and he is the reason behind it.
  2. He likes tougher players as well. I am definitely ok with his voice being added to the Team
  3. Dreger shot this down today on Sabres live. Says there is no legs to this rumor and left over from trade deadline fake rumor.
  4. I am happy to say this, but no thank you. Another smaller sized player that plays a smaller size game. I guess nobody is watching the playoffs with that crush kill destroy style of play. We do need more skill, but it needs to be abrasive and able to play against an abrasive style of hockey that the top teams play. The goal of this team should not be making the 8th spot, it needs to be a cup. This is far far far from a cup team!
  5. We are going to need a hire similar to this just to be credible again.....Very sad
  6. 100% agree....But, one thing. Actually winning, will fix everything. Fix the problems and win. Make the playoffs not as the bottom seed and i bet the narrative changes.
  7. But we control his rights for the next couple of years. He is not a UFA
  8. I actually like the way he plays and hopes the Sabres keep him. If we do not and we use him as trade bait for something that we really need to make us better, i am all for that as well. I am pretty solid on Power not going anywhere and i believe he will mature and get better.
  9. No way we are giving up JJ. Give up a 30 goal scorer under contract. If he was miserable and still put up almost 30, imagine if this team does the right thing and gets the pieces we need to make the playoffs!!
  10. It is what it is. They had a good season. They won a round. Young players got some playoff experience. Every player needs to stay there next year.
  11. This is a Sabres team... lol Yep! But Tage wins gold for US and Bandits 3 peated. I take my wins where I can get them!
  12. The players we draft are not aggressive enough. I do get points made but like Power, you cannot instill that style of hockey into someone that does not play that way. I get that is what the AHL is for, but if our farm team is having that problem at the AHL level, it is not going to get better when they get to the NHL. I do agree that having more skilled players is nice, but this team is not built to make it all the way. This team is not able to handle that next level physicality that comes in the playoffs in both the NHL and AHL.
  13. The problem with this team is the problem with the organization. We are a bunch of boys playing against men. We are smaller skilled that cannot handle a physical forechecking game. This has been our team for 20 years. Look at the final 4 in the NHL playoffs. 3 of the 4 are heavier physical teams. The one that is not lost last night to Dallas. When this organization finally opens its eyes and can see we need to play big boy hockey, they will start winning again.
  14. There is 100% no way our Sabres could EVER play this level of Hockey with the roster we have now. That was a fun game to watch! The Canes blew it trying to be too physical and forgot there was an actual hockey game to be played. The level of play all around was amazing!!
  15. As much as i HATE the Leafs, at least they are making the playoffs..... Enough said
  16. For the Sake of conversation, not to argue, it is a bit of both. Our defensive inability to stand players up and or clear the front of the net is always on high display. As much as i have been a fan of UPL him flopping around and overplaying the puck on many occasions makes him a liability. Now i will say as much as folks beat up on Power, his game play the last 25 improved dramatically to the eye. He is never going to be a physical dman, but he played more responsibly. The Sabres inability to let players mature and simmer in Roch does not help either.
  17. Ok, nice pretty pictures, but they make my head hurt. I watch the games, defense and goaltending SUCK. No graphs needed!
  18. I am totally agreeing with everyone on here. It is getting harder and harder to stay positive with this team. I give this board credit for me getting rid of my "Stormcloud" attitude and just enjoying the hockey and that my favorite city still has a team. But every year i tell my wife this is our year and she replies "Pick another Team" LOL I already did that with Racing. (Sorry Petty racing or whatever you are now)
  19. I am hoping this is not true. Have grown to love Rayzor as he is still my link to RJ.
  20. So, this is just my opinion. This position is 100% needed. A NEW outside the organization face is needed. The current decision makers are all seeing the same thing and not what is actually needed to take this team to the next level. This is why i see Stahl as a good addition as he played the style of hockey that this current team needs to go to the next level. I am NOT a KA fan, but he has made some good trade decisions and acquisitions that has helped this team. Now they need to take that final couple of steps to hit that next level and he is stuck without the vision to get there. A great organization has multiple sets of eyes on the team and league to make their own team better. This team does not have that.
  21. Ok, so i am going to be the unpopular opinion. I am going to ignore WHO HE IS and WHERE HE CAME FROM!!! Bare with me here..... He was an exceptional player that played a brand of hockey that this team desperately needs. He is widely respected league wide (With the exception of Buffalo). He is someone OUTSIDE the organization that a lot of folks have been screaming that we need to add without recycling same people. He is and was a WINNER in every league and tournament he has been in. His knowledge of the game is also highly respected. I get his Buffalo tied past. I am sure he knows it as well. How much does that say for an individual that knows he is going to treated like a second class citizen by many fans of the team he joined. I honestly believe this could be a good thing for the organization and for himself. I also understand the bias against him. I am a day 1 fan and hate the Lames as well, but he could bring an outsider insight that is highly needed for this team. I am sure i will be lambasted for my thoughts, but does it really hurt? If he can guide our GM to make 10% better decisions to help this team, then it is a win.
