I think it would require a player revolt for TP to allow that.

Greenway playing his way off this team. He’ll get a lot of attention at the trade deadline. -

TNT between periods > the actual game -
I think it’s about the same as any business staff meeting. How we doing, how are we tracking to plan, if off plan how are we going to make it up, etc. Anything new, anything you need from me, thanks for taking the bullets in that press conference, etc.

It’s pretty simple. KA pushed his chips in betting on the second line.
-
Quinn is on a cheap contract so would be picked up by a contending team, surrounded by veterans, and thus would likely hoist the cup.
-
Trouba to Anaheim. Ducks received nothing to take the contract?? With Gudas and Trouba Samueli is building a bully!
-
Time to weaponize our cap space and make a deal or help broker one.
-
Get on the phone with Trouba, convince him to come here, and make an offer to the Rangers that we’ll take him off your hands for player(s) z,y , or z.

Since it’s a press requested interview I expect him to ultimately fall on the sword with a minor flesh wound. Without naming names he’ll say some players need to elevate their games. The questions I’d ask are “Sabres came into this season with a heavy reliance on a young core that is not producing and is overmatched during many games. Will you do anything differently next year? Does it altar your philosophy of building primarily via the draft?”

Kreider over Thompson should juice up Tage a tad.

Adams was very clear last summer on why he didn’t spend to the cap. He had to hold back money for the young ones coming up. That is the issue behind this team - his big contracts have been futures and few if any are paying off now. Additionally there’s no guarantee they’ll ever be value contracts. IMO we’re 3-4 for years away from our entire second line maturing. If our players were earning the $80M we’d be a solid team. They’re not, nor did I expect they would. So in a nutshell it’s the $80 we’re spending, not the $8 we aren’t. -

I think what we’re seeing is impacted by the earlier “no blocking” philosophy. Too many of these guys never had to bust their a$$es to earn a spot, were brought up too early, and gifted playing time. They’ve never had to go all out every shift. A rookie mistake by a rookie GM -

Something something “accountable”. Need a new buzz word since that didn’t do much -

Without exaggeration I believe Beane with Karmanos reporting to him would improve this team. -

AVs goalies have been poor- Sabres win 6-4. -
Tuch survived but if memory serves me right, didn’t he miss a game or two because of that? Regardless, there is no deterrent to taking liberties against us. When we played Ottawa this year things got chippy at the end and Gilbert had a discussion with Brady. Those things instill a “ safer workplace for the kids”.

Quinn, (along with the rest of us) has seen Stillman, Tuch, and Cozens stand up to getting knocked around. Didn’t end well. The reason none of his teammates responded is they too wouldn’t fare well against Foligno. That’s on KA, not the players. Gilbert is as close as we’ve got to someone who could. I feared we’d lose Clifton when he stood up to Gudas. Don’t remember which recent game but saw Dahlin take a cheap shot to the arm /shoulder and nothing we could / did do about it. I said before the beginning of last season that KA was trying to get these kids killed.
