They would have 1-2 more Cups right now with those 3 and their window would be much bigger.
-
Imagine if Boston took Barzal, Connor and Chabot with those 3 first picks. They were the 3 players selected right after Debrusk, Sensyhyn and Zorbril went to Boston.đ€Ł
-
And Boston didnât trade down from #1 to draft him because they didnât know he would be the player he turned out to be. I have no problem with you liking the player but trading down from 1 for him is asinine. Move the 2nd and a player to move up and get him.

Much better game by Guenther against Latvia. Showed a lot more of his game. McTavish with a couple of goals. Clarke is all over the ice, makes a lot of plays. Bedard was dangerous but didnât score. Wright did not play. Stank oven is 5â8 but gets his nose dirty.

Here are LâHeureuxâs draft Rankings by the big sites. Trading down from #1 for him would be an all timer. And what is his appeal? He gets suspended a lot for being stupid? This would be like trading Eichel to NJ for Miles Wood because âwe want someone who hits people.â Ranked #22 by CONSOLIDATED RANKING Ranked #30 by ELITEPROSPECTS.COM Ranked #28 by FCHOCKEY Ranked #26 by NEUTRAL ZONE Ranked #28 by MCKEEN'S HOCKEY Ranked #30 by RECRUIT SCOUTING Ranked #19 by DOBBERPROSPECTS Ranked #21 by DRAFT PROSPECTS HOCKEY Ranked #24 by SMAHT SCOUTING Ranked #11 by THE PUCK AUTHORITY Ranked #27 by TSN/McKenzie

You would trade from 1 or 2 down to the middle of the 1st to take a guy ranked at the end of the 1st round on a hunch he might turn out like another player? What?
-
Guenther didnât really standout last night but still had 2 helpers. Just one game, doesnât mean anything. Clarke will be a RHD along the lines of Drysdale. Good mobility, instincts and puck distribution. Rosen had some nice jump for Sweden. One of the few players that stood out positively for the Swedes The next 3 games for Canada could be big time blowouts but hockey is funny that way. Watch them beat Latvia 1-0 tonight.đ

That is what I have been saying. If Adams is serious about âWhat a Sabre isâ then Beniers has to be the pick. Cozens-Beniers is how you start to build an identity, culture for your franchise.

10-0 with 10 minutes to go. Dman Brandt Clarke with a couple goals.
-
Canada are DESTROYING Sweden 8-0 after two periods. Amazing when Canada can send their best to this tournament. Next yearâs #1 Shane Wright with a hat trick. 2022 #1 Bedard has had some nice chances. I donât see it with Edvinsson AT ALL. Big and skates well, thinks horribly out there.

This was one of the quotes. Basically throws Skinner under the bus for not buying into the system or culture he wanted to build in Carolina. He is not coming here to build a culture/system with Skinner here long term. HC Rod Brind'Amour at media day today on the Jeff Skinner trade and the message it sends to the locker room: "I think it sends a message of what kind of Hurricane we're looking for, what kind of player we want. Everybody's available. You've got to produce; you've got to do the things we're asking you to do, otherwise you're not safe. So it was the right move. I think the guys understand you've got to come ready to play and do what we're asking. Otherwise you're not a Hurricane. We can't have you."
-
For anyone with this BrindâAmour fantasy, go read his comments when Skinner was traded. Guy isnât coming here to coach Skinner again long term.
-
Hughes, Brandt Clarke (RHD), Kent Johnson or Edvinsson will be in that conversation at #5.
-
What is your take on Edvinsson? I saw a guy with little hockey sense and then I watched the Scouching video and oh boy. I just donât see a top 3 pick there unless someone falls in love with the sexy skating/size combo. Praise the Lord it is not Buffalođ€Ș

The Official Samuelsson Needs More Love as a Prospect Thread
Flashsabre replied to Weave's topic in The Aud Club
The league went through a stretch where every dman drafted was a âpuck moving defencemenâ. Being a defensive defenceman equaled not being a good defenceman. But the more things change the more they stay the same in hockey. You will always need players who are solid in their own end, can pin players along the board, use their size and reach to break up plays. Mattias will play a long time and fill a big defensive/leadership role. His offensive totals will surprise too. He wonât impress with open ice hits but he will clear guys in front of the net and pin them in the corners. -
I will gladly hand last place over to NJ this year. The Devils are really working for it.đ
-
Mitts has worked very hard to take the next step. Chris Taylor helped him a lot in Rochester and I know Matt Ellis has put in a lot of work with Mitts to help him progress. Love to see it.
-
You forgot Chris Dreidger from Florida on the list. Can you imagine an Ullmark-Raanta pairing? The third goalie would play 45 games next yearđ
-
LOL How have all these players risen or dropped when no one has played games lately. Classic âthe boss wants you to create some new contentâ why is everyone so high on Edvinsson, kid has the hockey IQ of a piece of wood. Great tools, no toolbox.
-
The problem is that drafting is an inexact science in all sports. It is easy to look back 5 years later and say that guy turned out and that guy didnât but at the time you donât know. When Tampa takes Point in the 3rd round they have no idea that he is going to turn out to be a star. Detroit admitted when they took Datsyuk late they had no knowledge he would turn into a superstar, it was a just a player they like that late on the board. If most scouts are consensus that Power is the top pick for the draft then he will go 1st. No one will know for years how that works out, be it development, injuries, the coaching he receives. Each player in every draft is an individual, you canât say âhe reminds me of this guy so he will bust or he reminds me of this guy so he will be a starâ
-
Can anyone give us the lowdown on Lysell? People are all over the place with his ranking, from top 5 to late 1st to everything in between.
-
Has anyone else had a losing streak longer then 8 games this season? Who else was he going to reference. Buffalo fans need to stop getting triggered at every little thing.
-
What exactly is the issue here I am missing? He is saying he is frustrated that his team has lost 8 straight and he doesnât want it to get to 18 games like Buffalo went through earlier this season.
-
He is mad because he likes Finns better but Raty stock have dropped compared to Beniersđ Guenther is really good though, like to see him at the U18s.
-
Miller got lit up the first few games he came up, probably made him stronger. If he gives up 6 or gets a shutout it really doesnât define his future.
