  1. As opposed to other drafts where there is a major drop off after the top 3 it isn’t as pronounced in this draft. I’m not saying same tier, just that the drop isn’t as big as other years.
  2. That would be a home run but you wouldn’t get all that. Dach, 11OA, Reichel, cap dump would be more like it and still a very good return. Dach is a big, stud High end young centre who has great chemistry with Cozens. Reichel can fly and is buddies with JJ, 11 OA isn’t far off quality wise from 3 OA in this draft.
  3. Why are people getting upset about the notion of blowing up a last overall team and trading away players that have not made a single playoff appearance? I think Adams has the right idea, it is if he can execute it that remains to be seen.
  4. It is just a rumour until any of the official insiders confirm it. IF the Pegulas sold the Sabres they would make sure they couldn’t be moved. They couldn’t own the Bills with any good will if they let the Sabres walk out of town.
  5. https://www.reddit.com/r/sabres/comments/o3m3ut/doug_maclean_ive_heard_a_rumor_that_a_friend_of/ 🍿🤫
  6. You need the stud goalie. That is a huge piece to find.
  7. With word that the Hawks have entered the Eichel sweeps I think Dach and #11 OA have to be in the mix. (Hawks have the #12 pick but Arizona forfeits their pick which moves it up to #11.) If that deal happened, who are some of the players at 11 people would be interested in? I just think it is so hard to read this draft. I would put McTavish at the top of the list but I have a feeling he will be long gone by 11. Could someone like Wallstadt be sitting there? I would role the dice on him there for sure. I like the Russian centre, Svechkov, but I really don’t know what the Russian factor is with the Sabres. They avoid them like the plague. Probably a scorer like Lucius would be in the conversation.
  8. Their main pieces are Dach, 11th, Boqvist, JJ’s buddy Reichel They have always been a team I would hope come after Jack. Dach and Cozens had great chemistry at the WJCs prelims before Dach got injured. Dahlin-Boqvist would be a nice Swedish Connection.
  9. It should be Granato. The young kids responded and it is going to be a whole lot of youth over the next couple years. If they hire Leaman then Terry made the call. He was high up on their interest list when Botts was interviewing coaches and landed on Krueger. Boudreau would make sense if they were a piece or two from making a run but they are headed in the opposite direction here.
  10. I think there has been a lot going on with Jack that we don’t know about.
  11. Exactly. You can only draft what is there. There is no player in this draft that would be a good 1 OA pick. There are no guarantees in this draft. There will be good NHL players drafted this year but the best player might be drafted 12th or outside the 1st round.
  12. Jack told us his injuries: a groin/leg injury from last season that was never healed, a broken rib while shooting before training camp and the neck injury from the Isles game. Why are some people looking for conspiracies about weight lifting?
  13. I’m waiting to hear that Granato flew to Florida to meet with the Pegulas and they had no idea that he coached the team for the last part of the season.😆
  14. I will bet there are Jack stories that the front office has that have never made it out to the public.
  15. Terry: “Have you seen this Corey Perry kid for Montreal? I like him. I have instructed Kevyn to sign him to a max contract. Going to have him play 2nd line Centre for us.” Granato just throws his papers in the air and walks out.🤪
  16. I think it depends if they want to wait to talk to Lambert or not. Granato, Boudreau, Gronberg, Leaman are probably in the mix.
  17. Scott Luce from Vegas is a name that has popped up numerous times.
  18. It is this exactly, the leading questions. I noticed he would go on WGR during the day and spout some ridiculous narrative he thought up. Then after the game he would bend over backwards to try and lead the player to answer the question in a way that would prove his narrative correct. 9 times out of 10 the player would disagree and then Hamilton would go on WGR the next day and start slandering the player. Just crazy stuff.
  19. “Sam, welcome to the L.A. Kings. I think you know our new beat reporter, Paul Hamilton.”🤪😆
  20. What a complete sack of Sh$t Paul Hamilton is. Actively carrying on his personal vendetta against Reinhart in markets that are interested in him. If I was the Sabres I would ban Hamilton from the arena. The guy is a horrible reporter.
  21. https://www.tsn.ca/jets-bolster-blueline-oilers-add-skill-up-front-in-button-s-second-mock-draft-1.1656063 Craig Button’s latest mock draft today. Interesting to look at it while thinking Sabres might get 1 or 2 more top picks based on Eichel/Reinhart returns.
  22. Oh Eklund, On Eichel... Columbus will be all over Eichel this summer...For many reasons...Of course the addition of Eichel would seriously help to temper the loss of Seth Jones....He is a star and he is signed for many more years...Columbus also has the kinds of prospects to get a deal done.“ the Blue Jackets have one of the worst prospect pools in hockey. I don’t see anything from Columbus that interests me. 5 OA can’t be the centre piece. And Eichel will LOVE playing for Columbus.
  23. I can guarantee you I never said that to you, I don’t know who you are thinking of but it wasn’t me. I don’t attack posters for opinions. I know what you are saying. My point was there are a lot of people that don’t follow the draft that will say “Pronman has Joe Smith ranked here so that is where he must be drafted” or “Scouch has this guy ranked above this guy so that must be where they go.”
  24. No one is saying it is all Jack’s fault. It is an incompetent organization that can’t properly build a team. But Jack is done here and has been for a while. He hasn’t been the biggest problem but for a $10 million Captain he hasn’t been the solution either. Time to move on.
  25. The same guy who doesn’t like Pronman because he doesn’t rate Beniers higher? I don’t think anyone said you hate Power, I think you take this stuff too personally sometimes. The problem with these that write about the draft is that many people don’t follow the prospects and take these peoples words as gospel. It is one person’s amateur evaluation yet people think it is the be all end all. Scouch has had a lot of poor ratings on players based on how they have progressed since, Pronman puts his emphasis on size and skill over all else. Yes they work hard at it and yes they are pretty good at it but it is not the gospel, they both skew in certain directions.
