You’re absolutely right but you have to start somewhere and he would be a good add to start to build towards that type of culture. Martin isn’t a superstar talent. If he turns into a Peca that would be big. From the talent in the Sabres pipeline I think he would be a good fit as someone that drags his fellow players into the fight.

But we have no idea at all if the Sabres like Martin above the other options to draft him at 7. He did score again tonight for Canada. I would take a shot at signing Freddie Andersen and punting UPL. Andersen gets hurt but he’s a hell of a goalie when he can play. Get a couple quality defensive Dmen. Biggest thing is change up the coaching staff. Someone who excels at special teams and a D coach that can implement structure.

This is a great year to trade the pick. I just don’t want Adams to be the one trading it.
