And for all the complaining about Petersen, he flamed out in LA.

Are the Sabres out of the running for the playoffs?
Flashsabre replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
The Sabres have the toughest league schedule the rest of the way. Red Wings are second. They will have to earn it but they will be much better off for the playoffs if they do. -
Hypothetical: would you offer Montreal Oliver Nadeau for Luke Tuch? Nadeau is a big talented winger but the question is his wheels and would he be as effective as a pro. Tuch brings size and speed but not the offensive chops. He,like his brother, would be playing for the hometown team. He could fill a bottom 6 role with size, physicality and great wheels.

Yawn, another 2 point game for Savoie😀

Are people really ripping on UPL? LOL Which shootout goal was an easy stop that he missed? The Kaprizov one was a bad luck bounce. Gaudette made a hell of a move. Sometimes you have to take your hat off to the shooters. They just beat Hellebuyck, Oettinger and Sorokin. I guess those teams need goalies that can win them games too.🤣 -

Fantastic road trip. Keep getting points. Pens lost in regulation. -
Spoiler Alert: It was indeed garbage😀

Watching video on Neuchev when he was drafted he definitely has the “it factor” to him. If he can develop the Sabres night have another future weapon.

Matthews out for 3 weeks. Do they give Dahlin the All Star nod or just hand it to Nylander?
-
So EK65 at 50% retained and Meier to Buffalo for Asplund and Portillo😜😛 Spoiler Alert: This is a joke, I know this isn’t a real legit offer. Calm down😀

Eichel thrown under the bus by Vegas HC Bruce Cassidy
Flashsabre replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
When Krueger was coaching here I never ever thought I would use the argument “Yeah but Eichel isn’t playing with elite players right now like Jeff Skinner and Tage Thompson And Rasmus Dahlin”😀 My God Ralph almost completely ruined the franchise. Granato needs a statue just for saving these guys careers and putting them on the right track. When Adams Fired Krueger and staff and named Granato intern coach I scratched my head. But it was a terrific move. His ability to develop young players and encourage them to play their game has been invaluable. -

A big reason for that is the angles he takes combined with his wheels. Last night he was PKing and he almost slowed down to allow Schiefele(I think) go by him. But he angled him up then accelerated and used his stick to take the puck away. -
Funny, my second favourite prospect after Savoie is Kulich. Guess that first round was alright😀

Just think a couple years ago telling this board that the Sabres would be trading Eichel and it would be fine because Tage would turn into a more productive 1C for the team.😀 The Eichel Trade will be an absolute home run for the Sabres when it is all said and done. Tuch is everything we could have ever asked for. Krebs is developing into a heart and soul energy centre with skill. Östlund is a real cerebral 200 foot player who will either play for the Sabres or can be used as a valuable trade chip. And we will find out what the 2nd rounder turns into this summer. -
Dahlin is the Sabres best player. It’s crazy to think this franchise went 50 years without a franchise dman and we have 2 staring us in the face now. The way this team moves out of its end and throws the puck around is mesmerizing compared to the past decade of garbage.

I think Rousek and Kulich will be next to arrive. Savoie, Rosen, Östlund etc are a couple years away but those two seem the closest to making a push. Rousek will be 24 in April, older then a lot of the Sabres. He is a late round pick who had a devastating knee injury which slowed his development. He has tons of speed and skill. Could be a great energy player with hands. Kulich is only 18 but seems to be pushing. Two great WJCs and adjusting well to the AHL at 18, younger then when JJ and Quinn played there. He has a howitzer of a shot and seems to step up in big moments.

This seems like a team where they want to be together and hang out so I have no doubt they all have roommates on the road. Whatever system they use keep it up. They are Road Warriors this season.

Good win. Hope Cozens is OK. Third game in four nights, Muel out, Comrie in net for the first time in forever. Could have been an easy night to phone it in but these guys came to play tonight. I am really liking both Joker and Boosh’s games of late and Clague hasn’t hurt them at all when inserted. -

Has any Sabre ever made getting 2 points a game look as easy as Tage this year? You look up and he has collected 2 points almost consistently. That goal was as pretty as it gets. -

I’m watching the TSN feed with the Jets announcers. So far I have learned that Martin Samuelssons is out and Owen Powers has potential.🤪 This could be a long broadcast to sit through. -
Agreed but my point was this board has nothing but praise for Jost while dumping on Mitts based on expectations. Mitts was our pick while Jost was found money. I think people are short changing Mitts. He is an effective PP distributor and a solid playmaker. I think he over thinks things sometimes which lead to some head scratching turnovers. I have no problem with him in the role he is in. That line is producing. If Mitts was a 3rd line winger and our team was struggling to score then there would be a lot more venom towards him. But with Tage and Cozens stepping up and become scoring centres for this team then Mitts can settle in to a different role.

The thing is when your team drafts a first rounder the fan base expects a top end player who can function as either a top 6 F or top 4 D. They see a bottom 6 or 3rd pairing guy as a failure. But if that player goes to another team there are no expectations on him. I remember Paille going to Boston and being a great 4th liner after being a disappointment here with a lack of offence to his game. We could care less where Jost was drafted. If he can fill a bottom 6 role effectively then great. Colorado expected more from him.

Isles lose to Sens in regulation.

I think those are his numbers for in conference games. Overall he has 12 wins, 2.37 gaa and a .926 sv% overall.
