I would consider trading this year’s 1st if it is between 10-16. It would be for a young dman that is about ready to step in or already established. They have 3 firsts from last year already developing. This offseason is the time to push forward. They don’t need another small skilled winger coming into the organization, they are stocked. It has to be for the right piece but if you can get a 22-25 year old version of the top dmen in the draft then I hope they would pull the trigger.

A commitment to a defensive system. Change the assistant coaching staff. Like to see Peca promoted. Top to bottom Boston aren’t more talented then Buffalo but they play a committed system that allows them to consistently win.

Have these guys quit since the trade deadline? Where is the pride? I would be pissed if I was Adams.

I would like to see Peca added to the staff next season. More defensive structure has to come from Granato himself.

Exactly what I said would happen. People can’t complain about how he won’t sign here so now have moved on to how he will not live up to expectations. Miller got bombed for like 7 goals against Detroit in his debut. Didn’t affect how his career went. Some people hope he is the franchise saviour. They are terrified to see him play net because the first weak goal that goes in will absolutely destroy them mentally. They signed him to a 3 year deal to play. Put him in for a few games and see how he does. If he falls on his face then no problem, the Amerks are the plan next year anyways. If he shows well then ride him. The other goalies aren’t providing consistent goaltending right now.

Hate it😁 Chad D said that since he signed an NHL deal he can’t join the Amerks for the playoffs so he is going to get some NHL games.

I hope he signs soon so people can move on from the “he’s not going to sign” phase to the “he signed but he isn’t going to live up to expectations” phase

I feel like we might be sleeping on just how good he is. Outside of Bedard he might be the most electrifying player in junior hockey right now. Not just straight stats but the way he impacts games. Just thinking in that 2 years Savoie , Östlund And Kulich could all be making an impact up front.

Good discussion. Outside about 5 goalies it is way too hard to determine how good a goalie will be year to year. Everyone thought Calgary hit a homer in signing Markstrom. He has fallen on his face. Gustavsson in Minny has years of mediocre play. This season he is near the top in a lot of categories. Leafs are gambling on two reclamation projects to take them to the promise land. If one of those top goalies becomes available then try to go all in on him. There are too many middling goalies that you don’t know what you are going to get from year to year. Hart is having a better year after a few tirefire years. Do you believe he will be better playing behind the Sabres system. Big gamble. If a stabilizer like Saros is available then go for him. If Demko is available then you are betting he returns to pre injury form. I would role the dice on him. if you are going to get a goalie go for the best you can. Get a stabilizer in net.

Tremendous on the PK. Really good in our zone with positioning and keeping players to the outside. No idea where the lack of speed takes are coming from. He can skate and process the game. I think some people have fallen into the bitch just to bitch zone.

From my end he just oozes skill in a 6’2 package. He was all everything for his MHL team last year and has held his own as a 19 year old in the KHL this season. Sabres said they had a first round grade on him which makes the Finnish goalie in the 2nd round even more of a head scratcher. They got him in the 3rd though.

Good win. Kid line is back! I wouldn’t trade Tuch for Eichel 1 for 1. If we had a 30 year old version of Anderson we are a playoff team. Nice game by Stillman Hats off to Nylander. That was a hell of a goal.

Granato and Adams are right that most of the improvement the next 24 months will be internal. Leaps by guys like Quinn, Power, Krebs, JJ will improve the team. But to really get serious they need a stabilizer in net and a top 4 dman that is a difference maker. What we have seen is that Adams gets that too. He has tried to make moves to shore up the net. He tried to get Chychrun to upgrade the top 4. He needs to find a way to deliver this offseason. This team isn’t far off from being a contender for years to come. Find those 2 key pieces to compliment all the youth coming on and you are off to the races.

Who is this Marino clown? That is a terrible interpretation of what Friedman was saying. First of all it was just Friedman thinking out loud, not anything he has heard as official and vetted info. 1) he heard Rumors that UPL was available and that sabres were looking for a goalie. Sabres were upset that the story leaked. 2) Friedman thinks they were upset because they want Levi to sign and thinks if they got another goalie it might block his path. 3) Friedman THINKS that they wanted to show Levi a clear path to be starter next season if he was good enough. 4) Chad D said he spoke to a source who said the story is BS.
