I don’t agree. The major point you didn’t make was that they were playing for their playoff lives and didn’t trust UPL or Comrie to play a game down that stretch. They decided on the goalie straight from college instead of the two guys that were there all year. Not letting UPL or Comrie have the net in the final meaningless game against a bottom dweller in Columbus was a slap in the face to those two guys. I fully expected Comrie or UPL or both to split the game.

It can’t be Levi-UPL. You can’t have 2 developmental goalies at the same time in a year you are expecting to make the playoffs. UPL will be moved in a package in my opinion.

With Skinner’s skating he is not going to fall off a cliff. He rarely misses anytime. As long as he is playing with top players I think Skinner will be productive through the remainder of his deal.

VO has one year left. If Adams retains 50% for one year he could probably get a lot of interest. $2 million for 28 goals who can be a weapon on the PP will interest some teams.

A UFA I never see mentioned is Jarry from the Pens. 27 years old. Would make a nice 1A-1B with Levi.

I think Savoie will have a say in how deployment happens next year. If he is ready he is a strong face off guy so I see him in the middle. I mean you could do something like: Skinner Mitts Tuch Greenway Tage Cozens JJ Savoie Quinn Girgs Krebs Rousek There are a lot of combos you can make from that group. I think Kulich will push his way up later in the season too.

ICE beat Moose Jaw 5-3 in game one of second round. Savoie with 1g, 2a Now has 12 points in 5 playoff games. Benson is back but playing in a different line.

The train is back on the track. A few shrewd moves this offseason and the rocket takes off. Disagree. Comrie and UPL weren’t trusted down the stretch when they needed wins. Then the final game, a nothing game and they don’t even hand it to one of them. It tells me they are ready to move on. There is no reason Levi has to play tonight. If one of them was going to be his partner next year you play that guy as a little reward for sitting on the sidelines while the season was on the line.

Anyone wanting to know Comrie’s and UPL’s futures in Buffalo there is your answer. It is the last game, a nothing game as far as importance and neither Comrie or UPL , who they didn’t trust down the stretch, get thrown a bone with a start to end the year.

Johnson is a steady eddy. His game hasn’t really changed the past couple years. There really isn’t anything to evaluate with him that would change his status as a prospect.

Adams could have already made a decision. He is not obligated to make a statement saying they are not signing Johnson. Like some have mentioned, it probably has come down to Johnson thinks he is NHL ready and the Sabres do not.

Hopefully Anderson is in net for his sendoff. He has been a great soldier the past two years and gave them the best goaltending over that two year span even at his advanced hockey age.

Meier isn’t a UFA. He will be an RFA for NJ after the season.
