I'll have "Things you shouldn't say on a message board" for 500 Alex....
-
PA, I think they're just following the Pittsburgh example, more or less...
-
I predict 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7 depending how they play against the Division. Too many road games to start the season..
-
That confirms it if those guys talked about it.. REALLY, REALLY slow news day...
-
If this off season is any indication, Vanek and Miller in FA would kill... I offer the Parise, Suter and Doan contracts as exhibit A. I'll throw in Jagr as exhibit B.
-
I see Doan giving to the Sabres or anyone he signs with what Mark Recchi gave to the B's in their SC year..
-
Nicely done..

The ageless wonder...

Maybe it's just me, but I think a statue to Gene Hackman, Roy Schneider and Fernado Rey is just plain a waste of money..

and smoking... There are still some states that allow it..

I agree. Papa joe was dirty.. Wonder if that will change the plans for the eventual shrine..

He targeted Scott. QED..

Nicely done.. But I think the WD is poised for greatness. The middle of season two was a bit slow, but the last three or so episodes were fantastic...

This is exactly the reason I like the show. None of these cast members should be signed to a long term contract. The show is more compelling because they sacrifice characters... Lori should be next... She's made enough bad choices to have her ticket punched....

Interesting.. Pavelski might benefit from a change of scenery...

Right you are. He's a Group 3 UFA..

Signing Doan would break me out of my funk. I fear the price is too steep though. Sabres would have to trade some real talent to get him. That would not improve the team, just change a face or two around. The trick is to get him while not selling the farm. I don't see that happening.

So here's my beef with both sports teams in Buffalo. They are ALWAYS rebuilding. With the lone exception of the Bills in the early 1990s, the rosters of both teams are ALWAYS unsettled and being rebuilt. So here we are again, instead of being in the second year of the Pegula regime and a solid SC contender, we are now remaking the roster and are back to a three year plan. Meanwhile, key cogs are getting older and by the time the youngsters mature (if they mature), the key cogs will have to be replaced. Buffalo has a goal tender in his prime and they are wasting time building and rebuilding the team. If they ever get it right, we're going to need a new goaltender. And the cycle that Buffalo sports teams are perpetually in repeats. The Bills had a QB and couldn't win and now have haven't had a QB in more than a dozen years. The Sabres have had two star goalies in their prime and didn't have the supporting team around them to win. One of those goalies went to a real team and won.. Hmmmmm... I have been literally waiting my whole life for a Buffalo sports team to break through. It just doesn't seem to happen. It's easier for some of the younger crowd to preach patience, but I've been through this patience thing for DECADES. You can wait another five years for them, I want it now. And the composition of this year's Sabres doesn't seem like it is built to win anytime soon. The Bills are perpetually another year away.. The Sabres are another year away.. The madness continues unabated...

That's pretty amazing... How quick we forget...

Sanity... A refreshing breeze ...

In a blink of an eye.

This may be the slowest Buffalo team in years.. Outside of Ennis and Gerbe, this team is now filled with average speed or downright slow speed skaters. Should be interesting to see what the on ice product looks like.
-
I think they have more offense than Buffalo does right now. They're a much better team than they were yesterday.
-
I thought the price Buffalo paid for their free agents last summer was high too.
-
Minnesota pays 196M and signs two free agents in Parise and Suter And our hometown heros Sign two pylons for a 1M and change... Ain't free agency wonderful...
