Ron Paul didn't excite me.. Can't explain why.. Maybe because he has the temperament of a sponge... Idk why really .. He just didn't connect. Had he made it further, I might have paid more attention to him. He struct me as a long shot when he ran..

I'm one of these people. I've really have no clue who I will vote for now. Before the debate, I was squarely a Republican voting for Obama. My reasons aren't simple to explain as I generally am comfortable with the GOP running the presidency and Dems running both houses of Congress. I find balance in that imbalance. I was clearly fed up with the GOP in 2008 and Obama seemed like a fresh choice to me. Then the Republican cast of candidates came out and I liked not a one them. I had a pretty low view of Romney. Then the debate happened and I saw something in him I had yet to see. He came across as confident. Not the persona I had built in my mind over the last year. So I'm watching, reading, discussing and weighing my choice very carefully.

Debate Night In America

That made me laugh..

So I am struck by the parallels between last year's Sabres and the year's Bills. Enthusiasm was at an all time high at the start of the season. Teams disappointed out the gate and Buffalo fans were left to wonder what happened. Can you imagine how many yards Arian Foster will get against the Bills?

State polls come out on Wednesday.. CNN claims to have new Ohio numbers they will be releasing this afternoon,, I heard the CNN guy say something to the effect that this poll was a bit GOP heavy in their respondents. That probably accounts for some of the big shift.

Pew research poll has a pretty dramatic shift from Obama by 8 to Romney by 4 in one week. Romney is definitely seeing a bounce from his debate performance.. Among registered voters Obama lost a nine point lead with Romney drawing dead even at 46%. Among likely voters Obama lost and eight point lead with Romney now leading by four, 49-45%? Under 30 to go....

I don't agree with the second paragraph. Only the people in the middle will stay home. The right base is so motivated to remove Obama from the White House they would endorse anything with a Republican pulse. Guys like me took a chance on Obama the first time. Now all the world knows what we have. The choice is so much easier now. We know what Obama is and is not. The choice is do you want four more years of him. Romney doesn't matter. This is a choice of four more years of Obama or not.

Every Politician that wants to win will move to the center as the election draws near. The Christian right would not abandon Romney now even if he professed he was an atheist.. There is no way the liberal right would abandon Obama even if he threatened to overhaul social security.

The trend has been for Obama ever since his convention. I won't believe this race is changing until I see progress in battleground states toward Romney. If he can turn the tide in Ohio from -5 to +5, or in other words outside the poll error bars, then I'll believe the race is changing. I think we can all admit this is the first week in a while where the spin was pro Romney instead of anti Romney. Can he sustain the momentum? One other thought I've been chewing on. Do you think the Obama camp blew the timing of the first debate? Nothing happens by accident when it comes to these things. I'd bet that they wanted the economic debate out ahead of the October jobs numbers. Probably figured that would give ammunition to Romney. Instead, Obama gets a number below 8 for unemployment. How would the debate have been different the other night if he had that booster shot? By next week, it will be old news.

Problem is last time i looked, Romney is losing in Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Iowa. Those are the polls that matter.

No argument on my part. I was simply answering the question, is the economy improving. Many current economic indicators appear to rebounding, albeit slowly.. What's the term, green shoots?

Buddy of mine just qualified for a 100% financed VA loan. I thought those policies were left behind. Apparently not. Seems to me those lending practices got us in to trouble once before.. So the fed is buying up all these bad loans. When does that start to impact us? There has to be a downstream impact for that.

So I just found out my health savings account was being limited to 2500 next year. I have been putting away 3600 each year. So in effect, my taxes will go up next year thanks to Obamacare. I also have a 3 .8% increase in my premiums next year. The price of healthcare inside or outside of Obamacare in this country is insane. I usually blow through my health savings account before the year is up. If you add in my premiums paid, my healthcare costs exceed 7098 + 3600 = 10700 for a family of four with reasonably routine interactions with healthcare. I have ZERO faith either candidate can reduce my healthcare costs. They both stand up and lie right to our faces. And don't get me started on why dental and vision costs aren't really included in healthcare premiums.

Maybe.. I've had conversations with many folks today. To a person, they said Obama looked flat. Maybe he knew this was his take it on the chin moment and got it out of the way early. He'll probably shine in the Medicare one and the foreign policy will be a draw. Final score will be 1-1-1
