I'm beginning to think that Leino will be on the team next year. His salary makes it possible to get to the floor. I do not think Moulson, Ott nor Callahan will ever step foot on the Sabres ice wearing the blue and gold. The only way thay happens is to grossly over pay these guys and no one should consider that.
and that is oh so typical of Buffalo sports. We haven't had an elite first round winner since Bruce Smith. Even when they tank, they pick the wrong year to do it.
Edit: I guess one could argue Wolford too. In NHL, I guess Turgeon.
Obviously Nolan and Murray are in the lottery too... What possible justification could they have for making him a healthy scratch with 3 games to go... Unless of course he really will get bought out.
I think a lot of people are hoping what Nolan can do with a full season of a less-than-medicore roster. :flirt: Crap in, Crap out. Simple as that. This is a roster nearly devoid of NHL-level talent from top to bottom. Mediocre will be an improvement.
Nolan's team didn't dump his all-star goalie last time.
I think we are talking past each other. I know he is not on the team. Even the Pope knows he is not on the team. I'm saying he kept games close this year. Next year's goalies look weaker and they may not be in as many close games.
I'd like to think rock bottom was when RR was coach. I'm just not sure we can say that yet without seeing what next year's lineup is.
