  1. If you DON’T sign them, they continue to play and develop in the league that you drafted them from, whether the CHL, USA (which I guess is college), or European countries. If you DO sign them, they will play on your AHL team if sent down from the NHL squad, unless.. They are under 20 AND Drafted out of the CHL In that case, they’ll return to their CHL team if you demote them from the NHL roster. Any unsigned player can be signed to a contract mid-year and will immediately be assigned to your NHL or AHL (if eligible, see above re: CHL) team. AHL players can be recalled and returned at any time (though some require waivers when being returned). CHL players must remain in the CHL for the remainder of the season once sent down. Keeping a CHL-eligible player in the NHL for 10 or more games counts as year 1 of his 3-year entry level contract. Keeping him for 9 or fewer will not, and he will still have 3 years left the following season. NHL contract rules state that a CHL player may play in the NHL if they make the team, but if they get sent down before age 20, they will get sent all the way back to junior, and not your AHL squad. Also, any player can participate in 9 regular season NHL games before it counting as a year off the contract. So with that, your CHL players will 'slide' a year. This also applies for players who play their first season as a Professional in the AHL. So you can get 4 years out of a players ELC if you let them slide and play a year in the AHL before moving up. This rule does not apply for players who were signed and were sent back to CHL, as they have already had a slide. ^ found this elsewhere and it seems pretty straightforward.
  2. I’ll make a not so bold prediction ... Neal won’t get more than 22 goals Laine won’t get more than 60 points prove me wrong Jimmy and Patty!!!
  3. Someone please post either all the Sabres goals or at least the OT goals thanks!
  4. Huh? i predict one of Mitts, Risto OR ERod with a goal. I’ve said it like that for many games in the past. Adds up fine for me. Maybe you took it as I am predicting who’s going to score both goals. I’m not. I’m taking a fun guess as to who will score one of the goals. ?‍♂️
  5. Yea, I’m in Thunder Bay today. 2nd day of a 6 day road trip with the wife. I won’t be watching this one. Just keeping up via updates. 3-2 Sabres lose. Mitts, Risto or ERod with a goal.
  6. Well, there in lies the rub. What do you feel is most important when judging? Goals? Points? Seasons (games) as a Sabre? Something else? Thats why, even as simple as a top 5 list ... there is no agreement. Let alone top 50.
  7. I’ll consider Jack Eichel after I see his body of work for as long or longer as the guys on the lists now. So if Eichel has a career ending injury tomorrow ... never laced them up again ... who is he ahead of on this current list? So if Eichel gets traded after tomorrow and never plays for the Sabres again ... who is he ahead of on this current list? The list, by the way is 50 best Sabre players. Not 50 best NHL players.
  8. If there were more than three games last night, 30 scouts wouldn’t have been there ... The other two had 20-30 scouts too.
  9. He sucks at experience and development. If only the GD kid was older and had experience. Then he’d really be something. ?
  10. Shocked? I mean ... actually shocked? I’m not. I’ve watched them on other teams. They’re both pretty solid.
  11. If you can look beyond points or puck watching ... Reinhart is a highly effective player. He’s developed and developing nicely. He’s also one of the best if not THE best passer on the team.
  12. With only a few games in the books, I’m not ready to make that leap ... yet ?
  13. I think VO will settle down a bit and end up with 45-55 points this season. Any more ... bonus!
  14. Sheary week to week ... ugh ... Sabres with the win tonight. 3-2 Erod, Dahlin, or Skinner with a goal.
  15. Last year he actually played the majority of the season. But before that, yea he’s another version of Tim “glass bones” Connelly.
  16. Although I want a win ... 3-1 Columbus win Risto, Scandella, or Vesey with a goal
