  1. He has a highly punchable face… I get that. There’s a lot of people I see on an almost daily basis that have a highly punchable face LOL
  2. Posters have their minds already made up about Sam. This is an exercise in futility.
  3. because of his age… Does he want a smaller role with less responsibility… Or the same amount of responsibility on a different team? Only he knows.
  4. If there’s one thing I wouldn’t describe Bettman as ... is dumb. Do you know what’s dumb? The idiot fans who boo him when he comes on the ice to present the Stanley Cup. That’s downright dumb. IMHO.
  5. I must be mistaken and I apologize if I am I thought posters were discussing That at length in this thread ....
  6. Wife and I drove down to Ellicottville to check out their display this year. Happy Independence Day!
  7. Gretzky M. Lemieux P. Roy Iginla Selanne H M to Messier and Federov
  8. Yes. That was mentioned in the 4th or 5th post in this thread ??
  9. I personally land squarely there. Name means nothing to me. I would just add, The long time front office guy can’t be “any guy”. He needs to be somewhat “recently” successful and effective. All the points you mentioned, are an attractive selling point.
  10. Has he been THAT successful in the past 5-7 years? How do you gauge success/not success in the position he’s been in? Has the game passed him by to be effective with 2020+ NHL? Are fans of Dudley attracted to him because “um ... he was a Sabre in the 70’s!” Or because he has been very good in his role? To a point it just seems like the interest is based on the name. If it was John Doe, who has no ties to Buffalo, would he be as sought after by fans? Hmmm ...
  11. Watched the movie Doctor Sleep. It’s the sequel to The Shining. Wow was that good! Very well done.
  12. If Risto and the 8th can get us a 2nd line center for the next 2-3 years while Cozens develops more, I’d do that all day. It’s a gamble for sure, but I think it would pay off in the end. (Pay off = A well developed young 2nd line center about to enter his prime years).
  13. Unless you are presenting symptoms... no. If you get admitted to the hospital do they automatically test for cancer? Diabetes? Lupus? How about Sickle cell? Crohns? Iron deficiency? Those are an extra step to test for specific things. An extra step costs time. Time is money. Unless there’s a reason, it’s not tested for. Now granted, a dr. could order a wide spectrum of tests and cast a wide net, but it needs to be somewhat justified as to why he/she is ordering specific bloodwork.
  14. To use your words ... I was hopeful he’d be pretty good and not look out of place in his rookie year. Big difference from thinking he’d “make the Sabres great” during his rookie year. Apparently like I said, I must be in the minority.
  15. I must be in the minority as a fan ... I wasn’t at this frame of mind. At all. ... “We were all waiting with bated breath for him to hit theice and all of a sudden the Sabres would be great.” ?‍♂️
  16. There are facts, and there is spin to try to get others to make a leap to agree with your version of “facts”. Do others who read the article and see the commentary, see the difference as plain as day as I do?
  17. The return (no matter what team) would have to hurt and hurt big. Because trading away Eichel would hurt and hurt big. So unless it really hurts the trading partner, Eichel is a Sabre for the foreseeable future.
  18. I like it. Try out the first 3 episodes of the first season. If you don’t like it after that ... then you may not want to waste your time with the rest lol. But I enjoy it....
  19. Hahaha .... thinking of all people, Harrington carries ANY weight with his “sources” and “connections” is freakin funny. Like, a lot. I’d trust Barnaby or some basement dwelling social media troll before Mike “I have a degree in journalism” Harrington. Dude is useless.... literally.
  20. Yea, maybe it is. I’ve never previously been to Zoar valley. First time today. We parked at parking lots with the intention of hiking. And the waters edge was pretty close and easy to walk to. People were swimming near those spots too. If there are special fishing holes and ways to get to them ... I wouldn’t know.
  21. From the parking lot areas, it’s literally 70-100 yards to the waters edge of the creek. And not steep at all. Slopes slightly, but nothing extreme at all. Even someone with a cane, could make it to the waters edge to fish. You’d be ok.
  22. The fact that any one still reads and or follows Harrington is quite incredible to me. There are so many out there that are so so much better. That’s almost as bad as listening to shoop and the bulldog and think they have any kind of intelligent thought about sports. In my opinion they are insufferable fools.
