I used to laugh when he says that, but now I get pissed. His job performance says otherwise.

Fixed? Didn't the Sabres blow a 3 or 4 goal lead? Pittsburgh changed their goalie and then they started playing harder, and the Sabres wilted just like they did all season. The TNT guys kept pushing the Crosby and Malkin narrative and the Sabres proceeded to do their Washington Generals imitation. Maybe the Sabres will prevent the sweep tonight. Lets see.

I am not enamored with him. I am judging him on his record.

It was all staged phone calls. "Hello Sweens" and "I give you Jokiharju for a 4th in 2026" and "yes, he sure is a good kid". "I'll get Jaberbowski to run the numbers". Enraging is the word.

True - 3 years is about average, unless you are winning or improving the team in some way. It looks like Torts did all he could in Philly, time to move on. Torts has 3 long tenures in his career. I looked at his head coaching record and its Tampa (7 years), NYR (5 years), Van (1 year), CBJ (6 years), Philly (3 years). He tended to stick around. I will agree that today he is old school and probably "past his prime". He was old school even when he was in his prime. But he was not a journeyman drifter that got fired quickly.

To the Buffalo Sabres PR Team, Enough of this garbage. Staging a video of Kevyn Adams and crew "working hard" at the trade deadline. Is this supposed to inspire confidence? Is this suppose to resonate with fans after yet another completely rotten season? Do you think fans will watch this and be pleased? How many shots of Matty Ellis playing with his iPhone can one endure? Are you implying here that Adams actually has the time to have a film crew record his phone calls and meetings so we can watch him "making deals"? Worse, he has the time and the desire to stage these things? Someday we hope you will make a video about Buffalo Sabres hockey players actually winning hockey games, and happy fans leaving the arena. Until then spare us the propaganda videos, we know how this last place team operates, we have seen it for too dam long. There is no hiding the dysfunction of this front office with these staged videos, it just confirms that the Buffalo Sabres are not run like a real hockey organization. Feel free to pass this on to Kevyn, Lindy, and Terry.

Short life span? He coached at Philly for 3 years, that is about the average life span for Terry Pegula coaches. Let's not forget that Torts strung together 7 years at Tampa, 5 years at NYR, 6 years at CBJ. He took on a lot of rebuilds too. 770 wins Two time Coach of the Year One Stanley Cup You don't like him, ok. But you can't rewrite history. The only thing I can agree with is that he could never work for Terry. That would be impossible, Torts says way too many bad words. Briere inherited Torts. This was inevitable. Drury seems to be struggling after a fast start.
-
Torts woke up, saw his team just one point ahead of Buffalo and that was that (Sabres with 3 games in hand). Briere decide to move on now, with 9 games left. I am betting Briere's exhaustive coach search has more than one candidate.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!

Your missing the point. He wants to control hockey and fix it himself. He is not hands off.

I will tip the Fedora to the people that go regularly, they do their best to stay entertained. On a positive note, young people, post college and 30’s, are well represented at the games. So if they ever turn it around there will be a bigger demand quickly. Many of them have never seen winning unless they remember the Drury/Briere era, 17 years ago.

In the infamous 91 point season Granato had to shelter Quinn and Peterka a lot, Cozens ice time was not effected and he played with other combinations. Quinn and Peterka have offensive chemistry when they are allowed to free wheel, which is not going to happen every game. As pointed out, they had the worst expected goals for and against last night, so if the goalie does not stand on his head this combination kills us. For next year Quinn and Peterka as a line combo should not be the off season plan. Peterka has 22 g, 55 points, and is a minus 4 player playing mostly top 6. Quinn is 11 g, 27 points and -21 playing mostly middle 6. There needs to be another option on the roster, and if by some good fortune one or both players improve their two way game then we may have something. Adams has to improve the top 6 and not count on these two guys. -
Hope is not a plan.

Lots of former players and former coaches follow this path, even if not in the lofty POHO position, many are advisors and consultants.

Quinn and Peterka can stay together if they can play a better and more consistent 200 foot game. Adams will probably extend Quinn to a very affordable and tradeable bridge contract, he could package him or keep him another year to see if he comes back to form. Quinn should not get much of a contract given his injuries and his inconsistent play this season. Cozens deep down wanted to be a Sabre. He liked his teammates, he liked the idea of being part of a turnaround, but it was just not working. He was not impactful in yesterdays game either. I was glad to see the fans cheer for him. They cannot do to every player what they do to Eichel. The problem is the organization and I think most fans realize that. -

Season ticket sales will be down. The Pegula's have always been tone deaf. Remember the weird comments from Kim on Sabres fans not being the same as Bills fans, most of that was simply not true. She doesn't know the history. Regarding the great job Botterill was doing, we fans "don't see everything that is going on", then he gets fired 3 weeks later - and not for the teams performance but for refusing to carrying out their stupid plan. Unless the league steps in and helps them hire real Hockey Execs, I do fear this franchise could die. Unfathomable to think that after living through their birth and their entire history. No doubt the Pegula's have ruined the hockey team and its entire culture with it. I think they try to be good stewards but they lack the trust to let qualified people run the Sabres. The irony is the Bills and their success - the league put McDermott out there along with several other qualified candidates, McDermott brought in Beane, Beane drafted Allen and re-tooled everything. McDermott replaced the vets that did not buy in and he elevated the Vets that did. What a difference between the two franchises Is there a hockey McDermott that will come to Buffalo and fix this? It is the only hope.

Rewind to the start of the season when many here were happy that Reimer got cut. He was blocking Levi after all. Happy for Reimer to string a few great games together but let’s not blame the season on the UPL, there were lots of problems with the roster and the coaching. -
