  1. I’m good with this, makes Bryson 8, Johnson 9. But then Byram isn’t used to bring in more top 6 help and they have to improve on Peterka’s old spot at a min. Prefer to trade Muel and keep Byram but that won’t get much unless packaged.
  2. Then they need to pick up a few NHL players that can play right now and throw'em. This kid is years away.
  3. Looking at the contract values and market projection this looks like the "efficient" part of EEE. Now lets see the "effective" part in his game. Hope springs eternal.
  4. Ok. Hope he makes it someday. Bedkowski sounds like a Buffalo guy.
  5. Ok, I thought this draft was considered one with lots of good players in the top 50, maybe that is next season? I don’t follow drafts very closely, I rely on you and a few others here for those insights.
  6. Cost cutting comes to mind. Timmons maybe could be a solid 4-6 guy but man they ought to nickname him “Suitcase”, the Sabres are his 5th team. He is well traveled for 26. They save ~2 million bucks (for now) with Timmons over Clifton and maybe he plays better? Belliveau is a throw in. Why did this trade cost us the 39th pick OA in a strong draft year?
  7. True. But on track means more than scoring goals, he has to be stronger at both ends of the rink.
  8. Im back in the lower 48. Had a great trip to Alaska. I see Peterka got his wish. Even a 23 year old RFA just has to say the magic words. That part of this bothers me. A 23 year old goal scorer should have got us more IMO but I always liked the way Kesserling plays. Big guy, solid defender, pretty tough, cheap contract for another year. Fills a hole big hole on RHD, but now we have 27 goals to recover. If Doan can play even close to his Daddy’s level someday then the trade is good, but that’s asking a lot. Hope he is more than a 4th liner. Oh, and JJP will just love the night life in Salt Lake.
  9. Really? I have not seen a Sabres home game victory in about 12 years. I have not attended a Sabres sellout since 2007-08. Most Sabres games feature dejected fans, cursing and complaining , and are not fun at all. Good players do not want to be there, even most average players do not want to be there. But you can get out the door and get home faster, as you drive home you wonder why you spend any money on them. I made a decision to stop going to their home games last year, no regrets. Bills home games are massive events and require a full day commitment. Fans attend from all over the country. The Bills and their fans get positive national media attention. They win almost every home game and they are an NFL powerhouse. It’s a team good players want to be on No comparison.
  10. I’m in Vancouver right now. First time here for me. What a lovely city. Beautiful! I will be cruising to Alaska in a few hours. I will probably miss the game.
  11. Great news. Especially from the team that started him out on their 3rd defensive pair in the Four Nations Tournament.
  12. Lots of uplifting choices to pick from. My real answer, based on a few shots of hopium, is that Jarmo can help them make better and more impactful decisions, and they finally turn a corner and become a winning team again.
  13. Aero is also relevant to Houston. The space program was centered in Houston. I don’t care what they call them.
  14. Houston has to be my least favorite big city to visit. I just hate it there. Moving the team to Houston and keeping the name Sabres would be the worst thing that can happen. When the Buffalo Braves became the San Diego Clippers the name change provided me with enough insulation to let them go.
  15. Kyrou is a 30 goal scorer and has 150 goals in 416 games. Rosen is looking like maybe someday a 3rd line player. I do not see anything in Rosen that indicate 30 goals and 70+ points. I would think the Blues would ask for something more with JJP for Kyrou.
  16. This one is a maybe and maybe not. I have friends in St Louis telling me Kyrou is in the dog house for his playoff performances and that his two way game is not up to par. He is skilled but unwilling to play Blues style hockey. So would the Blues would be interested in getting a very similar player in JJP (struggles with 2 way game), so maybe not? Since they can sign JJP for less $$, and less term, and get out of the Kyrou deal, so maybe.
  17. I think we are past that. We can see how poorly this run. Loyalty goes both ways.
  18. Each new GM let the previous GMs players go. He needed to get out to reach his potential. It is hard to shine playing in perpetual rebuild.
  19. The Rat casually puts one in.
  20. I am opposed to either of these trades.
