The problem is that firing all of these people now would require a big cash investment in buyouts and new hires, something they almost certainly have not budgeted for given the way they've been running the operation. Terry is just letting this thing drive on autopilot off a cliff - he does not care about you or me.

IMO the most shocking thing would be if Adams is retained AND Terry doesn't address the media in a PC but just puts out a press release saying "We're not where we want to be but I have full faith that Kevyn is the right man for the job" etc. That would be insane - but also totally believable. If Terry hides under his blanket and Adams is retained, I don't see how the brand recovers.

It’s interesting - the players they netted from the Eichel and O’Reilly trades ended up being really good, and if Levi pans out, the same can be said for the Reinhardt trade. Not saying those were the right trades at the right times but still.

Tbh Cozens not being very bright would explain a lot of what we saw out there…

See now I enjoyed that. Quinn has serious wrists. That’s why his floor is higher than Cozens to me.

I would not be surprised if Quinn becomes a perennial all star or if he washes out of the league completely. Literally either option seems highly possible.

All of this is true but sports leagues are somewhat different. They are closely-held oligarchies whose members rely on each other in a myriad of ways. Yes some of them can be impervious to peer pressure but it tends to not work out too well in the long run. Dan Snyder being the most recent example but there have been several instances in the NBA where owners have pressured other owners to make changes and even forced buyouts. The league suffers if a hockey market like Buffalo fails - and that is not an unlikely scenario at this point given brand value, fan apathy, a rising salary cap and a fragile local economy.

It may be time for Bettman to step in.
