  1. I want to fight you on skinner. I agree when we have possession low in opponents zone he is valuable. The problem is everything else. He is constantly turning the puck over with low probability passes into the heart of the D. It's ***** every kid would be benched for in travel / high school etc. it's why RK did him the way he did and it's why Carolina bailed on him. If I was his teammate I would hate him. And so I assume many do. (Ok maybe they like him as a funny guy between stalls but they know they have to win in spite of him). Just play the game the right way as they say which means you take care of the gd puck.
  2. Yup and their schedule isn't even tough this week, no back-to-back, Husso just chillin'. Sharks Thursday, Sens Saturday. Sabres no respect.
  3. Skinner is their best take and I agree 100%. Addition by subtraction as they say. Guy is an absolute disaster in terms of puck possession and no one (DG, Okposo, Dahlin) appears to be holding him accountable.
  4. It's worth noting. Though most likely different refs remember it was Benson on the receiving end of several cross checks from Trouba in the home opener as he lay on the ice. No call of course, "know your place" says the NHL.
  5. this postgame doesn't have it https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/alex-tuch-postgame-vs-pit-6341734619112 did they edit it out / and the $ comments?
  6. Same, taking my fam, have 2 home from college. Merry Christmas present to myself. Enjoy the game. (and agreed, booo to no black).
  7. I will criticize him, and his teammates, for waiting until 3 minutes to go in the 3rd period to show respect to the Sabres fans in attendance. That's all.
  8. I'm ready. Been to 4 games this year. 0-4. Absolute garbage product on the ice. (rangers, calgary, montreal, philly). It looks like they are warming up at practice trying fancy/fun passes. Someone needs to blow the damn whistle and coach them. "be direct". you been saying that for a month and they still play like it's pond hockey. Even EJ tonight. Ugh.
  9. And Cornell. Couple of Rochester kids on the team this year and they look very good so far.
  10. Yeah I think like Aud said as long as students are there it will be a show. Best is nationally televised games. The kids will know and bring their A game. Not a whole lot of attention on St Bona compared to the big schools so they relish it.
  11. Address: Reilly Center, St. Bonaventure University, Saint Bonaventure, NY, Olean, NY 14760
  12. It really is so impressive. Is Marchand the lynch pin? Reluctant to admit it in this space but he's growing on me, the results speak for themselves. Coaching change, personnel change, same results, at the top of the league. Hopefully McAvoy's suspension derails them.
  13. Ha. I guess this explains why cast quality sucks as well.
  14. Blame Clifton but it starts with Skinner. Forced pass into D coverage = turnover / odd man / d not set. Hopefully EJ rips him a new one he's our biggest culprit.
  15. Did he take a shot off the mask last night? Or am I misremembering? And if prior to the center ice goal ugh. Edit - ah I see lower body...
  16. Here's his post-game only. Count me as his newest fan. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/erik-johnson-postgame-vs-cgy-6339490059112 "make the play that's there" EXACTLY. So many forced passes that just aren't there. Skinner is the all time great at this. Power and Cozens creeping up the standings quickly this year.
  17. Is there video somewhere of the (no) goal against from center ice? Was at game and they did not show it on the screen.
  18. Yeah no it sucks it's not full every night, just sayin compared to last year. Next for me is on Monday vs Montreal, I expect that to be maybe 12k and 50/50 split in rooting interests.
