  1. That's fair but you can see the headlines "pegula misses again" and "who would want that job" staying the course is easier for him. Dude is like 70 when I'm 70 I'm hoping for zero stress. I guess that's the argument for sale, he's not up for the task.
  2. Again I don't disagree with change but can see "if we flip 4 or 5 Ls to Ws (1 last year) we are in" vs firing a friend and good guy, and embarrassingly spending another $20m or whatever it would cost. I too hope the new COO guy is told to operate it cash flow positive and to do so they need a full barn/playoffs and so he says fire the coach.
  3. I support his dismissal. But the answer is easy, the players appear to like him and the price is right.
  4. Addition by subtraction. Buy out asap. Respect the scoring threat, but from the stands it appears something is amiss and he marches to his own drum from time to time. This erodes cohesive unit vibe. The team isn't good enough / league is too competitive to have a guy like that in the core of the team.
  5. Rangers are very easy to dislike right now: #1 their fans are obnoxious #2 their fans interrupt the anthem and think its funny / tradition? #3 drury is gm (screwed us) #4 laviolette is coach (beat us) I'm apathetic about Housley and Peca. And the roster is kinda boring. I guess Trouba is annoying because he seems to have a different sent of rules compared to the Sabres, but that's on the refs. I think of all the playoffs teams they are the ones I wish the least success. Well them and Florida and TB. I've moved on to being in awe of Boston. Incredible run of being good.

  7. Bracket - https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/icehockey-men/d1/2024 RIT vs BU Thursday 5pm
  8. Cornell won too. Hopefully they both keep it going. And it was the talk of the town today in ROC. Impossible ticket to get. Good stuff!

  10. https://collegehockeyinc.com/articles/2024/03/mens-notes-ncaa-tourney-picture-coming-into-focus.php Fun weekend of college hockey incoming. Huge game for RIT tomorrow night in Rochester vs AIC for the Atlantic Hockey title and an automatic bid (game is sold out). Up in Lake Placid the action starts this afternoon for the ECAC conference. From what I hear major hometown vibes for St Lawrence are flowing and they are ready to go as the #7 seed vs defending NCAA champs Quinnipiac. And the Cornell Big Red team includes freshman Ryan Walsh from Rochester (Bruins), they play later tonight. In Hockey East, Luke Tuch helped Boston U knock of Northeastern last weekend (booo), so it's BU vs Maine and BC vs UMass. ESPN+ and flohockey.tv should have it covered.
  11. Caps v Leafs is good. Ovevhkin has one, Matthews 2. Matthews scores hatty goal after absolutely fantastic shift of possession (and weak d by 😎but offside challenge, overturned. Goal was 23 seconds after entry. Broadcast makes no mention of linesman failing at his job, instead blames skater (bertuzzi) for 1 or 2 centimeters. NHL. Edit sunshine emoji is the number eight and close parenthesis.
  12. Sad. Too young. Boxing and MMA? Not dismissing, just curious about the data.
  13. I respect this point of view and enthusiasm. During the middle of winter as our playoff chances died Dahlin to his credit ate a ton of ice time, however he was also like a -15 or something (while Quinn was a +20 and leading his team to the playoffs). The difference was not talent, skill, and try-hard, it was decisions he made with the puck on his stick. I know it's not one guy it's the team, so blaming the +/- and losses solely on him is not fair. But for a guy being paid (next year) basically as the highest paid defensemen in the league, it's just not acceptable. He needs to tip the ice in our favor every single shift, and not make mistakes that cost us goals that are then erased by his solid offensive stats. I agree that he will be the next captain, but for me (and I don't know who else to pick tbh) I wish there was another option. Someone like Crosby or Drury who ooozes a "***** around find out" presence to both his teammates and the opponent. They demand excellence of themselves and the people they are leading. Does Dahlin give that vibe? Or is he just another super skilled hard working player that really really wants to win?
  14. So did my 13 year old son in AA hockey. Baseline give a f maneuvers. I didn't watch last night, sounds like 26 had a very good game. Nice! Now I want to see smart and disciplined play to buy-in. I know he has the gaf and exceptional skill already.
  15. Nice, hadn't heard this one. Try Big Red Machine if interested in exploring more. Aaron Dessner (the national guy here) and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) w/ T Swizzle for a some tracks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_Long_Do_You_Think_It's_Gonna_Last%3F I'm a parent of a 23 year old Swiftie. And tbh the whole Kelce podcast thing (and Netflix stuff w/ the QBs) finally brought my wife into NFL / extremely mild sports interest. Nothing but positives from my seat.
  16. The quote is from Paul Maurice not KO, fwiw. Nothing to see here in my opinion. Boo Panthers. And boo to his bff Reinhart. Hoping they are a first round exit. If the state of FL gets another cup before anyone in Canada or traditional hockey towns, bleh.
  17. It's interesting how draft position influences opinions. They were both #1 D overall. Dahlin over Tkachuk and Q Hughes. Byram after Jack Hughes. So since Dahlin is/was #1 overall expectations are so much higher? And Byram is behind best D in the league for several years limiting his minutes and role both in terms of need, expectations, opportunities. I think it's a very fair question. Let's see what it looks like at this point next year. Good problem to have!
  18. fwiw I was calling to Krebs from section 104 as he returned the bench, he wouldn't look up, was gonna give him a signal / reminder like this but he pretended he couldn't hear me. 😉 file it under "fans and players are disconnected". missed opportunity to fill the barn in my opinion. Other than that it was an awesome night!
  19. I'm going and excited to see the shiny new toy Byram is. Also heard Cozens was "best player on the ice" vs. Oilers. Will be looking forward to that continuing.
  20. Didn't expect this. I'm still deciding, love my seats and fomo. @Derrico how many in attendance? Too far for me from roc.
  21. My guess is its a handful of seats directly behind opposing teams bench and on the glass. One time gift for Dad or something.
  22. Did you try any variations? Maybe add a preceding letter. A constantant we know from our beloved GM perhaps.
  23. Okposo was a healthy scratch tonight as far as I can tell. Not surprised just noting.
  24. 13 years of suck and picking fancy D #1 overall 2x. Sour and impatient are the norm. As for me, I'm gonna enjoy the honeymoon with #4.
