Overall, defense is looking decent, after those 2 shots in the first tight in the slot they shut that lane down, just hoping SJ doesn't connect on one of those crisp cross ice passes dot to dot. And Jokiharu, just, wow. We got this kid for Nylander? WTH? Chicago with their defense and they gave this kid away for a magic bean? Hey man, no complaints here, but if I were a betting man, someone up in that BlackHawk front office is getting that top shelf "Snow Cone" blend from Colorado in the mail...………. Go Sabres!

I would hope so. Any chance you asked if they have a plan cap wise when Montour comes back?

With Borgen looking promising, and Nelson as current RHD Depth does that mean we may move Montour to get what we need on RW? I can't see Bogo as a desired acquisition for teams and Miller and Jokiharju look solid so far.

I would be very interested to see the analytic stats for Henri Jokiharju to date. I don't believe he's going anywhere based on his play to date, granted, small in size. But still, I think the stats, analytics and contract cost/control are going to be significant factors to him going nowhere. I'm new to the analytics side of it, just reading on it in the past year or so, but people are turning to them more and more I've noticed.

Just watched the Rayzor portion of pregame. He said the lack of response on the events from last nigh was addressed immediately after the game in the locker room and again in today's team meetings. Wonder what was said.

I don't see any harm in discussing trying to better the team. And judging by line 3's lack of production combined with Sobotka on line 2's wing, well, discussions to improve the club are warranted imo.

1 for 7 on the PP with 5 of those PP's being a full 2 minutes. The lack of adjustment to Anaheims high pressure PK is a bit concerning, but there are larger problems being exposed 7 games in. For example, the 3rd line is non existent and physical game lacks a bit. Physical game and poor passing we can expect from time to time, especially game 1 of the West Coast road trip, but that lack of anything from the third line game after game is more than just disconcerting now. Plus, right handed shots, they lack them up amd down the organization, Vesey slung one to the net in the 2nd and the rebound was missed by Mitts, had there been a eighty there I think that's a goal. A clunker, every team has'em, respond to it and move along.

Just a bad game with old habits creeping back in. We really do need to do something about that Mitts, Vesey and Rodriguez line. It is just a non factor. An entire line basically non existent most games.

I also agree with this. The problem I see is the Sabres don't have a lot of guys up front that can go body to body with Anaheim. Not for nothing, but a guy like Ferland comes in handy in a game like this. Girgs has the body size, but doesn't engage.

Concur. They are pressuring to not allow the set up. Which is baffling because Eichel and Dahlin have the ability to dance around those guys when they come in to pressure and instead look like they panick a bit.

Every team has a bad game. We are no exception. We're early in to a long season, obviously the Mitts line is a shambles. They don't contribute and are actually a defensive liability. That will have to be addressed.But the hit 99n Olofsson, and the jump on Sobotka, yea, we lack an enforcer or 2 for sure.

E rod on defensive coverage, horrible. They are getting schooled on size and effort right now.

That was just horrible. I mean everyone standing there while the wingers play tic tac toe passing for the goal.

Sabres making to many mistakes. Passes, playing off the body to far and turnovers. They need to clean it up.

Buffalo allowing way to much body space between the Ducks.
