They are what they are, which based on the first 3 games 9f this season, are in point of fact, not "better than this". If they were the results would show it.

It wasn't always this way. And bright times at some point and time lay ahead I am sure. But as of now, given the decisions made from the ownership on down to the plays on the ice, it would appear we'll have to wait awhile longer. It's always been tough to be a Buffalo sports fan. For those that stay faithful, you learn to develop an extremely thick sports skin. This doesn't mean it will always be this way though.

They aren't beating Florida. The high scoring a couple seasons ago was the anomaly, and sadly, contracts were given based off of that. This team has no leadership, no accountability. If they had, they would have been more than ready game 1 of the regular seadon. Instead, 3 games in, the reality is on display for all to see. There is a void of real NHL high end talent as well. Buffalo, where NHL players careers come to die, that's the actual truth as unfortunate as it is.

I said Tuch in the Captain thread and even LG was like...."Dahlin". Well, sorry to all those who prop this kid up, but Dahlin is no captain.

Dahlin looks completely disheartened in his post game interview. We've seen this before, it's like a broken record for players that end up in Buffalo. Man, what a career killer it is once they are here.

Don't count on many Sabres funding the scoring touch. As it stands now, it's more likely the high scoring season a couple years ago was the anomaly. They lack the horses to compete on the score sheet.

I wanted to buy 4 200 lvl til, I decided against it after what o saw in Europe. So don't feel alone. The only thing that solves this is winning. Not stats, not great goalies, not progress, but winning.

Just get the 2 points. I do not care about individual stats at any position, any show of improvement from Europe, your big boys now, the youth excuse is over, just get the 2 dam pts.

Hate to be the bearer of bad projections, but what you saw in this first 2 games is what the Sabres are. They may get slightly better as the season progresses, expect Levi and UPL to even manage to steal us a game or 3, but I for one am not going to lie to myself. The playoffs aren't happening this year imho. If you cannot show up ready to do what it takes at the very start of the season to compete, that's more than just indicator of failure, it's a tone, and setting that tone culturally early on. I hope I'm wrong, but as of now, I see nothing that says they aren't what they were last season. Yes, to me, those first 2 games, the way they played, the culture shown, is the grim reality of what we Sabres fans face, yet again. Don't hate the messenger, it's merely an opinion.
