Don't expect a different performance next game. The Devils are 2 classes ahead of the Sabres and it shows. And they jettisoned their coach and still performed at an elite NHL level, that's the players, who are volumes more professional than our roster and it showed tonight, will show the next game. Sorry, just calling it as I see it.

No worries ink. I'm nearly as p issed as you are, probably the same. I only have 4 drinks in me. My wife is a god send, at the start of the 2nd, I tore a muscle in my stomach screaming at the TV. Good thing she did what was necessary to calm me down. I'm fuming over this season opener performance, with a smile thanks to the wife of course, but fuming.

Bills, Sabres = Apples to Oranges. Sabres don't have a Josh Allen, although, I think the Bills D is better, and that's saying a lot. I firmly believe Sabres faithful, those that are left anyways after these past 13 years, are well within the norm to expect their team to come out firing on all cylinders. They didn't. If that doesn't concern you I'd ask where you've been these past 13 years. Cut those of us distraught, concerned, disappointed, down right p issed some slack. We've been through a historical ringer here. Just sayin.....

You think the players who he's coached these past 8 weeks will care? They are the main issue, to soft, unwilling to commit, unwilling to do what is necessary to win. That's what I've seen this game, and these past 13 seasons, long before Lindy for that matter. It's not just talent, it's not just coaching, it's believing in themselves, in each other. That starts with leadership, not only in ownership, in management, but on the ice. This team has no rudder. Hasn't for over a decade, even with ROR, Eichel, Reinhardt. What's the solution? When you successfully answer that, you can be Sabres GM.

I agreed with your premise of discontent, I don't agree with your premise they go to the net. A player who stands there or glides in to the area means nothing if you can't maintain puck control on the boards to get it there. Going to the net means DRIVING THE PUCK TO THE NET! We have seen 0 of that this game. That's on the forwards, that's on Lindy's coaching. Try and spin it as you wish, but the drive, the passion, it's not there. The scoreboard tells the tale.

If this game play is an indicator of the season to come, get used to it. As a fan, who pays a lot to go to home games (200 lvl only), who buys merchandise (countless jerseys, shirts, hats, etc, etc) I have paid for the right to be disgruntled over these past 13 seasons. That doesn't mean I don't love my Sabres, always have, always will. What it means is I'm one of those financial parents that will put the oar to the ass cheeks if disobedient "winning" behavior isn't adhered to. It's what's expected.

Thorner, I can take one thing away from this game......."habits". Habits in game flow, player reactiin to game flow, coaching, coaching reactiin to game flow, but most important of all....I can take away the feeling a d I l d o feels for going on 14 seasons in my balloon knot as a fan. Yep, I still feel it.
