Just think about it....those higher profile UFA's and RFA's are going to sign somewhere, they aren't going to sit the season out (minus opt-out for Covid maybe). We have just as much chance to sign someone as any team. Just trying to be positive. We might be able to get talent and fill in cheaper roles with younger guys. It boils down to picking the right players and can KA get them or willing to chance guys like Tage/Cozens/etc.

The one thing is ....success on the ice will make the wallet much thicker. It creates more excitement and sales in all areas and not just locally. I would agree that this is the time where they should take advantage of the situation. Sure, streamline to an extent but you don't cut back the quality of your product (of course that's hard to do in our product) or chances are you'll lose even more/all of what you have.

When I read up on it, it sounded like something that could be an after effect of Covid. That's why I asked, I was wondering if this might be one of those long term effects we don't know yet. Guess not if you didn't have it. Like I said before, hope all goes well for you.

The articles I've read talk of him as a perfect 2C and not much about him playing the wing. I wasn't aware of what you claim. They even show stats that put him ahead of the likes of Bergeron, ROR, and Couturier.

Granlund at 28yrs old is an UFA and you don't need to trade for him. I would put him in the legit 2C category.

I could see shorter deals in hopes of cashing in later when things are back to normal. Of course, where an RFA would then become an UFA, this might not work well.
