When the Sabres admit Adams has? idk Boy are they ever a bunch of divers though. Refs were buying into it but these guys were flopping all over at the slightest touch. Ruined the flow of the game and kept it from being a tight playoff style game too. Dead Things still lost so good on them. Cozens didn't do much.

I find myself wondering how few Sabres play through injuries compared to other teams that are still competitive. It's fairly well known that Brady Tkachuk is still hurt from the 4Nations but he toughs it out. Norris comes here and he's not fit to go. If he was still in Ottawa would he be sucking it up and playing through it? idk. Hard to say with how little they say these days on what injuries are but I do wonder. A lot of Sabres do seem to miss games for seemingly little things.

I think Torts and Briere/Jones just hit a timing/philosophy difference. Torts doesn't like tanking and Philly realized they have to tank to get Michkov a center. This is why Torts finally said he had "no interest in coaching that type of team". Now Philly can tank for this year and maybe next (McKenna). They also have their eyes on Tocchet should he be available. Some teams make moves when they are unhappy with events. Buffalo? Stay the course. If I owned Buffalo I'd actually hire Torts as coach. Bump Ruff up to a senior advisory role. Let Torts fire any and all of the assistants. I'd fire Adams too but since he's a lap dog yes man and will do whatever the boss says sure let him shuffle paperwork while other people do the work. 10-1 Quinn would be the first guy in the doghouse.

Maybe there's some truth on both sides? Maybe after getting injured working out heavily he decided to work out less so as not to repeat getting injured?

I never said ANYTHING about YOU. You need to apologize for this personal attack crap.

Indeed. I was curious how that would go and it was dreadful. Mitts played at his worst. They have an AHL D right now though. Really bad and tanking hard.

Talent wise Ottawa is not a better team than Buffalo. They have however won several games with excellent goaltending (an issue they recognized and addressed much differently than Buffalo, a priority in their minds) and they have better leadership so they get out of their funk moments quicker, and in general I see a more balanced roster and a higher level of compete. How well Cozens does in the future is unknown.

This is obnoxious and offensive.

Casey and Joker helping with the Bruins tank. At this rate they'll end up with Desnoyers or Hagens. Just dreadful and much worse than the Sabres now.

Yes, no doubt his wife's health has had an impact on him. So go and deal with that and get the F out of the Sabres management meetings. Focus on your life and let the hockey people make the hockey decisions. I'm not going to dignify your last dumb sentence with a response. Yup, sounds like they are just going to give it another go, stay the course. TP in on all decisions just like we thought/assumed. He is the constant in all these years. The big takeaway is get them in better shape and better prepared in the off season for the next season, to which I just think where the F was that last off season? Most of us here said they need a boot camp and Ruff needs to change things right off the hop but they didn't. So NOW we are supposed to believe the same people will get it right. Ya sure. What's that definition of insanity again? Doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Sabres hockey.

If they thought that were they smoking crack? So Thompson, Cozens, who is the third top 6 center they thought they had? As for the D, as usual, they have put way too much on Power too early and they have hampered his development. Clearly Adams had faith in Samuelson that was unwarranted but surely they can look around the NHL and see how good defenses are actually built. Can't they? or do they think they know better?

Yes but you have to draw the line somewhere. Fans generally live on hope next year stuff. At a certain point you have to say I've had enough and now it's on you, the franchise, to show me and win me back.

I honestly don't know why people haven't stopped going years ago. It's usually barely watchable on tv. I don't live in the area but if I did I certainly wouldn't pay money to go see it. Seattle and Vancouver are short drives but I won't pay to see them there either. It's just not worth it. You likely will also have to factor in few (if any) Canadians coming over the border if things continue as they have been. There's already a huge drop in cross border traffic and the tariff thing has created an anti American thing in Canada that will no doubt have an impact on their ticket sales. Crazy rabid Leaf and Habs fans might still come but I suspect a lot less. The fact that next year feels like they are going to stay the course and give it another go is more than depressing. Delusional, and depressing.

I do remember him saying that but you never know the truth of these things behind the scenes. I really don't get the logic in trading Mitts for Byram though in terms of roster construction. If it wasn't contract related why would you trade your top producing center for another puck moving D man with a concussion history? You already had Power and Dahlin (and Jokiharju) in that role. If it was a big tough defensive D man to pair with Power I'd get it but the only thing that makes sense to me here logically is a contract issue that they anticipated and thus avoided for the moment.

Umm, no, it was my take. So I have no idea what your Canadian insiders comment means but whatever. McLeod for Savoie was a good trade because they got a roster player for a prospect. Will Savoie be the better player down the road? Maybe but idc. I want more prospects moved to win now not less. On the Cozens deal you cannot look at it without factoring in durability. I already see next year's excuse. "If only we would have been healthy" "just bad luck". Wait for it.

Whether it was Chychrun or someone else I think they did miss a moment that year that could have maybe turned things around. Their timeline was longer (supposed to be now, this year) and they did not seize the moment when they were doing better than expected and didn't make additions to try to get over the hump. Big moment lost.

Maybe but this is just Adams getting an RFA depth D man for his UFA depth D man. Adams likes that element of control for obvious reasons. The thing about the trade that boggled the minds of Ottawa fans was why Buffalo also gave up a 2nd round pick. They all seemed to feel this was a crazy win for them.
-
Or you don't trade Mitts. Why did we anyway? Did he want out? Did they refuse to pay him? It's not that he was so special but trading him created a hole on the roster and just bumped the pay issue down the road with Byram. Now we have a cripple from Ottawa instead. Just a genius organization.
