  1. Looking that way. It just shows you how hard it actually is to move up. The same top teams are still the same teams. Bet they don't. Florida are masters of getting in your head and then doing the opposite. Really good at walking away after instigating and not retaliating. Refs coudl decide it though. Hope they don't.
  2. Edmonton with a clinic on how to go to the net. Remember when Ruff was talking about that this year? He needs to make them watch this Edmonton game over and over all summer long. Except Benson, he already gets it.
  3. Save up some hate for when he becomes a free agent and signs with the Bruins in another year. 🙂
  4. He already won the cup so does it really matter? I'm torn on the west because although I don't want Eichel, and I would like to see Canada break the cup drought just so that people stop talking about it (but not the Leafs), I really don't want Jeff Skinner to get his name on a cup sitting in the stands as he is. So Winnipeg? Sure. But I don't think they will get past Dallas. As such, might as well be the rats.
  5. The funniest thing for me is that Tkachuk is also laughing because he hasn't even had to be himself yet. Marchand the Leaf killer is so in their heads at the moment. They got rats on every line. This could still go either way, but you can see the Florida being Florida is slowly getting to the Leafs and they are going to have trouble staying focused and disciplined.
  6. I haven't seen anything that shows me that he can produce in the NHL. At best he's like Alex Nylander imo. Similar to Fabien Lysell in Boston. Another first round Swedish guy with speed and skill but not able to do it in the NHL. Never say never in terms of development paths but their value isn't very high .
  7. Yes, that's what I said earlier. Adams can't expect a 1 for 1 deal he needs to package up assets/picks and make some bold moves to improve the actual NHL roster. I just think in general people here over value the assets they don't want (like Rosen) and they want a big return for a guy like Samuelsson with all his exposed weaknesses. Remember people wanted Jokiharju gone and all we got was a 4th round pick . Samuelsson is hard to move unless you eat contract and they won't do that.
  8. Yes indeed, Mitts was not good and Lohrei couldn't handle the ice time or pressure and completely fell apart. Minten looked promising. Got him from the Leafs in the Carlo deal. Remember that name. I think he will be quite good.
  9. Which is also kind of the problem with Byram isn't it? He's not a complimentary piece to Dahlin or Power, he's a similar piece. As was Jokiharju (although a lesser version). We need the Braydon McNabb, Jake McCabe types that we didn't keep around. Even Borgen was more of a complimentary piece, although again lesser in his case. I suppose they thought that was Samuelsson, but he's not, and they messed up Risto and there was all that, but we definitely need some solid D and RHD would be best.
  10. Wouldn't surprise me. They were pretty happy with the Zadorov-Jokiharju pairing which seemed to work for some reason (I suppose it's the old playmaker with thumper/defender idea for a proper pairing). Zadorov had his best games of the year after Jokiharju showed up and with McAvoy and Lindholm out that was the top pairing.
  11. Kraken maybe but I can't see the Bruins being interested. They're more likely to sign Jokiharju than to go after Byram. Certainly not if they have to give up a first. Their D is most likely Lindholm-McAvoy, Zadorov-Jokiharju, Lohrei-Peeke along with some depth guys they already have. You might be able to get the Bruins to gamble on Quinn, they need scoring forwards with skill. Also don't think Philly would offer up their 1st. They got Drysdale in that Gauthier deal and they have young D coming I think. Might be wrong on that.
  12. Might depend on how many D men get taken. I suspect he's early 2nd round so not impossible but you never know, big guys do get taken early sometimes.
  13. Second round I like Vaclav Nestrasil. Could develop into a Protas type. Big boy with an edge.
  14. I understand your position, but if Rosen can't make Buffalo which team can he make? If you're looking to try to entice a team to give up their top 5 pick or are looking for a proven player you're not getting it anywhere close to done offering up Rosen. You might be able to get a conversation going with Utah if you started by offering up Byram but even that might not get it done. You'd likely have to give more. I don't want higher picks or any down the road stuff though. I only want deals that make the roster better now. Right away.
  15. They're not "fake". They are a highly structured defense first hockey team. They don't always score so they can lose but they are very hard to score against. They grind you down. These are good teams and it likely goes 7 games.
  16. Rosen doesn't have the same value. You can't just trade the guys you don't think are any good for gold. Other GMs are not usually stupid. The pick would be viewed as having a much higher ceiling than Rosen who doesn't look like he can even make the NHL on a regular basis. We already have cheap incoming ELCs.
  17. Brad Marchand seems like an odd comparison and a stretch but a lot of Finns do seem to have more of an edge than Swedes (in general) and so it's good to hear he's grittier so time will tell.
  18. I have said this forever. One of them has to be traded. Byram should never have been traded for.
  19. So what I'm reading they are having trouble finding anyone since it could be a 1 year situation and it's below Adams who might get fired NEXT year. If that's their approach I'd assume that yes, they'd have trouble finding someone. In my view the only way this works is if they put Adams on notice (playoffs or you are done) and they hire an experienced senior advisor to sit ABOVE Adams and answer only to Pegula with a 5 year deal. The understanding with him being if Adams fails the senior advisor will be empowered to fire everyone and oversee the new hires. Otherwise, it's BS.
  20. He looks like your typical personal trainer. I mean sure, why not. I have no idea if this is good or not.
  21. It comes up on the google AI suggestions. I said it seemed wrong but I couldn't find a real number. I've always assumed they all makes millions which is the point about taking the job. Who wouldn't take a multi million dollar payday even if it was Buffalo?
  22. It's not an unknown reason. He's not defensively sound and Cassidy only plays guys he relies on. VO is a depth player who fills in for the injured.
  23. Ya, after they didn't cash in on that 5 minute PP I thought Vegas was destined to win this one but no such luck. So yes, maybe Jack got undressed on that play but overall he played a really strong game. There's no denying he's been Vegas' best player.
  24. Well for the right price anybody would take the job. But speaking of that, I have always assumed they all make millions and guys like Ken Holland signed 5 million per year deals publicly but I googled around and there's very little info on this and I couldn't find anything on Kevyn Adams. Matter of fact a few spots suggested Sabres GM makes around 70,000 which just seemed wrong. But could it be as simple as that? That Pegula pays his GMs crap and thus nobody of note does in fact want the job?
