  1. He makes close to 5 million dollars a year. Maybe more if he has endorsements or owns side businesses. Do you honestly believe he gets up in the night to change nappies? He looks like a hockey player. You guys just aren't used to it with this team. They should ALL look like that at this time of the year.
  2. 64. I'm winning(?)
  3. Definitely not the game I expected to see tonight. UPL? I mean he's had good games in the past. He's incredibly inconsistent. This time he was pretty good. tbh Pittsburgh looked a lot flatter than they did against Boston the other night but there was some solid play by the Sabres at times. Overall low event game though. Didn't come off as two teams wanting to get into the playoffs but you can't complain. They found a way. Refs sucked but I think both fanbases would say that. The goaltender interference call was weak and so was the 2 penalties at once so I think it evens out. Okay, surprise me next game Sabres. You're a team I definitely do not understand.
  4. They are weak defensively. We can score goals against them. They are strong attacking the net. They can score goals on us. Might come down to goaltending. Toss a coin.
  5. If it had timed out differently they might have claimed Jost. Give them VO for future considerations. and why not? There's no rule that says "oh hey, take it easy on this guy he's young and not that physically developed yet". You stick kids in the line up these things will happen. You take that physicality out of hockey the game is ruined.
  6. It was a clean hit. You want to bring kids in to play with men these things will happen. You want figure skating, go watch that.
  7. Both of these things are true. He's not having an elite season imo and if they didn't have to take a guy from every team I don't think any Sabre would be on it.
  8. I'm sorry but I just won't get excited about AHL or KHL prospects until I see them play in the NHL. I kept hearing about how good Rosen looked in Rochester. With the Sabres I thought he was far from ready and looked like a never be ready at this point. I've heard this prospect talk far too many times. If some of these guys make it great, problem solved, but I'm not counting them until they hatch.
  9. I like the idea, but I think you may be jumping the gun and over valuing these prospects and their timelines. We shall see in time.
  10. Figured that would happen at some point this year. Surprised it was Jersey.
  11. He looked bigger at that level. He won't look bigger in the NHL. More problematic is ร–stlund, for all his skill, looked smaller. He is a true lightweight. I don't see him surviving. Two years running we had a smaller skilled forward drop because of their size and so we grabbed him. We can't do that again even if it happens.
  12. I see @SDS gave you the old eye roll but you're not all wrong. There's quite a few people here that have commented on how we have too many of the same guy and too many small fast guys and not enough tougher two way guys. It's an obvious fact. There also aren't enough D men in the system. We've reached on some lower picks and if any of them develop that's fine but now that Johnson is (sort of) on the roster there's nothing in the pipeline pressing to come through on D. It's a problem. Even if a Savoie (as an example) is worthy, there's no spot for him. We already have that guy. I guess you can say Kulich bumps Olofsson off the roster next year (maybe) but so what? Won't change a thing. No hockey tonight and so I'm watching Shorsey. "One top scoring line surrounded by tough natives, never lose again" Dumb, probably racist, but not all wrong. "The kids don't hate to lose" . There is wisdom there too.
  13. Kulich named an allstar
  14. Can we vote for John Scott instead?
  15. Leonard just bulled his way past ร–stlund to pretty much end it and now the empty net does, A lot of players on this U.S. squad will be solid NHLers. Overall ร–stlund was good in this tournament but he's really small and he will struggle to make it to the NHL imo. Kulich was also very good and with his shot I give him a better chance. Neither one is really any different than what we already have though.
  16. True, Penguins gave the Bruins a lot of trouble in front of the net so we will be in trouble there if they play the same. If we play well it's likely a high scoring game. If we play poorly they will blow us out. We have skilled players who are capable of scoring goals at any moment, even when we play iffy, but the team play as a whole wasn't all that great even though we beat Montreal bad. They were bad.
  17. It was nice that they played well enough so Levi could win in his Montreal ice debut. Les Habitants stunk though. Nice to hear another team getting the boos at the end of a game instead of the Sabres. I think maybe Montreal's thin roster has run out of decent bodies and they will fall fast and hard to where they were projected season start. At least if that's all they have. It was nice to win. No reason to dissect the mistakes imo. Enough of that goes on for the losses.
  18. Yup, and then I suspect they will not offer Tavares a huge deal again so it'll just be the big 3 not 4 unless they trade Marner (doubtful).
  19. Careful, I live close to shitowack. Good coffee shop there called The Smoking Gun. But really, no Salmon Arm or Crotch Lake? You can do better ๐Ÿ™‚ I love Bobcaygeon
  20. Correct, but that's also where teaching young players comes in. Look at what Risto said about Torts. He has coaches showing him his flaws and he's improved after all these years. Young players come in and we just toss them into top roles and say go do your thing. learn on the job. It's moronic. When I talk about talent I'm thinking mostly skating and offensive skill. Those things they bring. Or at least if they bring it there's hope. But they have to learn to play proper D and correct their flaws. AHL time helps, but you have to teach them when down there. Our development program is garbage. I think we agree that the flaws of this team are multitude. I would like to admire your resolve, but I can't help but laugh (nothing personal).
  21. You forgot Philly. Nobody saw that coming. I'm still waiting for them to fall apart (and they might) but they were expected to be bottom 5 for sure. Montreal also annoys me. They are supposed to be bottomed out early rebuild as well. If they stay ahead of us it's a colossal failure for this team. Ottawa beating us was very annoying since they, at least, are also a faltering rebuild. If I had to bet on next year, unless they make changes here, I think Columbus might just leap past us and others as there is a lot of young talent on that roster and if they get it together they could have a New Jersey type rise. Can we? Sure, but not unless they make the needed changes.
  22. Sure. but I think this is what they are telling him to do. It's dumbass but I think it's what the coaches want. Also how many forwards should we sit for not playing any defense at all? Not much of a roster left on ice .
  23. Different league/era now. They come in younger and can play in the league younger. Back then development paths were generally longer so I'd bump that number down to 21. The thing is other teams will also know what you have if you wait too long. You need to move them while other teams still think they have upside and just need the right setting.
