  1. We already have enough divas, we need guys with character not more soft guys like this.
  2. Ya but they ALL say that. I watched several reaction clips from various players on various teams and every single one of them said nice things about the GM who traded them. It's all BS.
  3. So you think they are playing good defense? Is that correct?
  4. So your belief is simply that it's on the injuries and next year he will be healthy and a superstar? Correct?
  5. Not every game but it happens a lot. Turning your frustrations for another dismal season onto Sabrespace posters is, beyond tiresome.
  6. No. Just NO.
  7. I'm going to stop commenting on individual games this year I think. You can be excited by the win, but this is the late season illusion we get. Edmonton was absolute garbage today compared to what I saw when they played Boston a few nights ago. They got the quick one and fell asleep. We had another in the long list of low event games. This was so low event their "hit of the game" segment was about goal posts, because they couldn't find a solid body check to show. Granato has FINALLY had enough with Mr. Lazy Giveaway Skinner and is in the process of Kreugering him. Will be interesting to see if this time the coach wins, or will Skinner kill another one. Either way could be a win for us. So yay, but it's little more than exhibition hockey at this point.
  8. and it's very wrong. Elite players have a much larger bag of tricks to draw from. Tage is a very predictable player. Elite players are also more consistent. Today against Edmonton they showed that goal from the previous meeting where he stick handled around people and the goalie in front. If he did that a lot rather than just shoot all the time it would be a different conversation. They mentioned Mario Lemieux like and on that play he was, and his body says he could be at that elite level, but as is he lacks the creativity and probably the desire. He's good. At times he's very good. But he's not great.
  9. That's not the same thing though. I'm sure he was professional, and all these guys say these things these days and if they aren't bright they get lines from their agents to repeat. That's the business. We are way past Bull Durham. But there is a difference between being professional and accommodating them with favourable landing spots. Reinhart could just as subtly been saying ANYWHERE was a favourable landing spot to being in Buffalo.
  10. I have to wonder if Reinhart wasn't being sarcastic and taking a sly shot at the team and Harrington missed it.
  11. I think Chicago was the first to find a way to circumvent cap rules.
  12. Sweating in practice? Nah, you'd mess your flow.
  13. I'm almost at this place. I have been for a few years but I keep getting sucked back in with some false hope or other. Come playoffs I will watch the Bruins and other games. Hopefully they beat the Leafs and that'll be my little joy for the year. Then they will lose to Florida and I guess I will cheer for Florida, give Kyle a cup. I'm going to hope Vegas fails, just because of the cap LTIR and also still a little because of Jack, cheer against Edmonton because I hate the hype and their announcer, and I'm going to hope Carolina has terrible luck and loses early so that Brind'Amour will become available. It's a slim hope. Sabres? I got nuthin' until they do somethin'. If they do nothing in free agency, well, it'll be hard to stay loyal to the blue and gold.
  14. Pasta is a sniper, sure, but there's a world of difference in their style of play as well. Contrary to what the casual Bruins viewer might think Pasta can drive the play and be a very good passer. He looks for Zacha almost as much as Zacha looks for him. The big difference though is Pasta will battle for the puck and go to heavy traffic areas. This is why he is elite like Crosby and McDavid and others. Tage isn't in that group imo.
  15. I'm just amused he said he drafted Krebs.
  16. If I'm Vancouver I'm resting players down the stretch and taking the foot of the accelerator for a while. Would not want to meet Vegas first round.
  17. We aren't tanking but I imagine the mood on the team will be down and they will just be playing out the season with minimal efforts. RFAs will probably give a damn playing for contracts. The losing culture gets deeper entrenched. Vacation plans are probably already in the making. I personally don't care about the draft one iota.
  18. Adams thinks he drafted Krebs, that was interesting. 🙂 He's a good BS artist like most GMs. Hint of wanting to do something in free agency but vague enough to fall back on "the plan" if he doesn't succeed. Just keep on sailing right into that iceberg.
  19. Tage does not play like an elite forward. Tage plays like a sniper who needs another elite forward to drive the play and set him up for the snipe. He does represent what we have well though. Talented individuals, lack of team play, and inconsistent efforts.
  20. To answer the question, sure, that's the answer, an elite forward. If only we could add a big name like say, Taylor Hall. (So no, that's not it). Instead, consider Philly. Consider Nashville. Look at the Yzerplan. Look at any team that rebuilds faster than we do.
  21. If they want to stop it (or lessen it) what the league needs imo is an independent medical assessment team that answers only to the NHL. When teams go over cap they need to examine LTIR guys and if they deem them "healthy" at any point then get taken off LTIR and then that team has to play roster short. That and extending the cap into the playoffs. You can have players that send you over the cap, you just can't dress a roster over cap during the season. Should be in the playoffs too. I think they fake the severity of injuries. Stone has a bad back no question. He can't do the rigors of a full season, but come playoff time he goes on extra meds and sucks it up. So how injured he is, is a questionable issue and somewhat open to interpretation.
  22. Right, and let's add this list of all stars. Ethan Miedema Mats Lindgren Oliver Nadeau Aaron Huglen Matej Pekar Jacob Bryson Brett Murray and Will Borgen (grumble grumble) So can we hit on a 4th rounder, sure. Will we hit on a 4th rounder, unlikely.
  23. But, but, Granato assured us all that player development at the NHL level was more important. No, it's a fine move to get the guy away from a playing out the season dumpster fire but it does go against the crap they've been spewing. Might as well send Benson back to junior.
  24. I wish this was true, but I don't think it is.
