  1. What makes you think Savoie is NHL ready? I agree about too many prospects that are similar though.
  2. Miles Wood. Another guy I wish we'd have signed. (sigh)
  3. The pick is just one more asset in a big pile of assets, but all that will matter is what's on the roster so trade this pick or a 2025 pick or a prospect in Rochester, whatever and whoever.
  4. @LGR4GM you disappoint me. You haven't proclaimed that Liam Greentree sucks yet.
  5. Don't people around here think this is what Quinn will become?
  6. Not what I said. Dahlin is what he is. I can assess that pretty accurately. Power is not yet what he might become. So get back to me in 2 years when Power should be at the beginning of what he will actually be.
  7. and you just want to argue about words rather than ideas. wtf does it matter how I said it?
  8. Well everyone's available everywhere theoretically but that's kind of meaningless. Could still be Power. Ask me again in 2 years.
  9. I guess you could take it that way. I was trying to avoid people reacting "trade Dahlin? You're nuts" type of thing so I phrased it as an exceptional deal. So no, only 6 I wouldn't trade (unless some team grossly overpays for them but that wouldn't happen).
  10. Don't "want" it to be traded but fine with it being traded if it adds a roster player we need.
  11. Don't remember the details but you lost credibility with me. But I was right, you were wrong. It's an ongoing theme. Carry on.
  12. Not really. I put 6 guys on the "protected" list. One is a prospect, 5 of the 6 still have development upside and one bleeds blue and gold and should be captain. I put 4 guys on a list where I'd want a good deal that makes the team better. That's it for the entire franchise. I'd hardly call that protecting the roster.
  13. I only remember it because you insulted me at the time. It's a direction you enjoy going in when someone has a different world view to you.
  14. Oh no I know greatness can build hatred for sure but I don't think that's how you build a real rivalry. That has to be geography and to some extent history. So we're probably not really disagreeing. Sabres are definitely insignificant to everybody right now.
  15. Don't see how that relates to what I said.
  16. Well that was anti climactic. Glad Chicago didn't win it anyway. So I'm sticking with Liam Greentree. I know many people will say he will go lower but idc. I like the kid and how he plays. If they are still there (which I doubt) I'd probably consider/take Iginla or Yakemchuk but I think they will both go top 10. If we trade the pick for a roster player, I'm fine with that too. That's it for me on the draft this year until it's done.
  17. That's not it at all. It should be simple geography.
  18. Oh do tell @Thorny what did you find so amusing about that?
  19. The other side might shift if they keep losing though. The goal posts of what is "normal" or "acceptable" or even where the center is and what is "right" of that or "left" of that keep getting shifted. Remember when the left thought Dick Cheney was the ultimate evil? Now he's a moderate. It's shifted into other countries now too whether we like it or not. Our new opposition conservative guy is stealing all his playbook pages from Trump and the republicans. Decorum in parliament is going right down the dumper. probably getting too political here, but then again we are geezers, and geezers like to gripe.
  20. Quenneville and Berube talk coming out of Leaf land. Also might be the end of Shanahan. I don't think so. Closest thing would be during the French Connection years Montreal-Sabres became a pretty real thing for a few years but not to the extent of say the Bruins-Habs or the Habs-Nordiques. imo Toronto should be the rival and maybe it can be if we ever get good again.
  21. The idea of trading Power is insane. Yes, he needs some serious coaching and he needs a big time muscle building program but he still has a huge amount of potential. He's just a kid. Now the prospects who aren't in the NHL right now? I'm fine with trading any of them and any future picks for immediate roster help now. Players I would definitely not trade: Benson, Peterka, Power, UPL, Levi, Tuch. Players I would only trade if the offer was so exceptional I had to consider it: Dahlin, Thompson, Cozens, Quinn. Unless I forgot someone pretty much anybody else is fair game for the right deal.
