  1. I guess Hayden gets into the lineup after all. It’s funny and early but Eakin looks so much better so far. Weird world we live in. I’ve said it before but Rasputin put a weird hex on all the forwards and offensive D he coached.
  2. I can accept that. Getting Wormtongue/Rasputin gone was a significant help in changing the direction.
  3. Nor is calling poster who disagrees with you naive amongst other things. Also there is evidence that Jack had a click in the locker room and you were in Jack’s circle or you weren’t. KO’s letter also implies that there were issues in the locker room in prior seasons. Also DG/KA have said time and again that they only want players that want to be here. That is a clear statement that the locker room was inhabited by some guys who were going through the motions and didn’t want to be here. There is also evidence that KA was listening to offers for Jack before the injury. While Jack might not have been the source of all the issues, he certainly wasn’t a leader to build a team moving in the same direction. Since Jack’s injury last year the team is completely different in attitude and effort, add that to the evidence above, that is enough for me and others to believe that Jack was part of the problem and not the solution.
  4. Let’s be honest, a hot start is great but we haven’t exactly beaten the top teams. The teams we have beaten are 1-8-2 so far this season. Two are Western teams on the road. Great effort and great start so far, but beat Boston on Friday and then win some road games and then we can start to say we are on the right road.
  5. You have no idea about mine or others locker room experience. I played hockey throughout high school at a pretty high level and also played as an adult. I’ve have plenty of locker room experience thank you very much. The key to a locker room is how willing is the team to work together toward a goal. When players become a problem it can ruin a team. That’s why Kane was expelled from WPG and why he should have never been acquired. I’ve been on teams that worked together and others that were clicky and that usually lead to finger pointing when things didn’t go well. I believe that’s what we saw last year in Buffalo and Jack and Hall were at the heart of the issue. Jack has always sulked when things didn’t go well. I believe putting Jack back on this team would be a mistake. New leaders have taken over and they don’t need someone like Jack to come in and ruin the new culture they are trying to establish of unity and effort. Yes this team needs more talent, but I’d much rather that come from within and from guys who are growing together.
  6. No he wouldn’t. He is a me first player and a locker room problem. His presence would ruin the United identity they are trying to foster
  7. I’d love to send Jack to Columbus.
  8. “How am I going to get another coaching job after working for this idiot.” “Does this guy actually know anything about hockey?” “I wonder how late Chef’s is open and can I order spaghetti-parm with a side of meatballs to go on their website?”
  9. I have no grudge against Ullmark. He deserved his payday unlike the real chump of chumps Taylor Frickin Hall.
  10. I doubt these guys will be juiced to be playing against Hall and Ullmark.
  11. I doubt he'd like playing for this team. This is a real team with everyone so far getting equal minutes and putting forth equal effort. Jack would be annoyed that everything isn't being run through him.
  12. So are we officially soccer scoring?
  13. Because they have a better winning % then the hapless Bills.
  14. Watching KO play under DG is further evidence what a terrible coach RK was and is. I know the competition hasn’t been the top of the league, but this team is playing with the freedom and want of last year’s team once DG took over with good goaltending. Honestly it’s a pleasure to watch. Solid goals by Thompson and Skinner around the net. Interesting stat tonight. Balance PT tonight among the forwards at 14-15 minutes except Asplund who played 18. Also balance with the D around 20 minutes except who Butcher 18 and Dahlin 16.
  15. Frazier has them playing zone and not a single blitz. Dumb.
  16. Josh is trying to force the ball. Take what the D gives you, move the chains and win the darn game. Dumb.
  17. Except for finding goaltending. 😎
  18. He is Craig Wolanin’s son. Former UND player. Probably knows DG from USA hockey circles.
  19. Couldn’t agree more on R2. Im no Butcher fan (ok, that’s an understatement), but he was a terrible fit for a Lindy Ruff coached team, especially if NJ lacked enough D first D to balance a guy like Butcher. DG runs a different vision. He doesn’t mind putting to O first D together, like Bryson and Miller, as long as they are willing to work hard to get back. He wants to play fast, and I think his hope is 2 good skaters will move the puck up quickly. It worked in game one. 81 to go and we’ll see if 2 O first pairings will work. Honestly both Miller and Butcher’s careers are on the line this season. They better step up if they want decent contracts in the NHL next season.
  20. @dudacek Now you know why I think Nadeau is a better draft pick and better player then the 2 guys drafted in the 3rd round by the Sabres.
  21. If they play with that effort every night they’ll win more then expected and bring back the fans. If they don’t, then it’s just words.
  22. Or an indictment of previous leaders like ROR and Jack.
  23. This guy should have been given a PTO for the Sabres.
