Hey Everyone... Rather than fight and argue all offseason about the 1OA, new coach, Eichel/Reinhart futures I thought this thread as a distraction. What is your favourite restaurant? I'll start and say my favourite is the Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse. 20 years or so ago my friend went to Syracuse on full scholarship. A bunch of us would go down for sports weekends and to hang out. We would eat at the Dino Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It opened me to the world of BBQ cooking which I've been quite into on my own for a long time since. I've been to the Buffalo and Rochester locations many times as well... and while still good, neither seem to measure up to the consistency of the Syracuse location. What do you guys have?

I foresee a lot of arguments leading up to the draft regarding the 1OA. Remember... Not even the experts can agree who the top guy is. Far be it from us armchair QBs to figure it out. I didn't watch it but it's good to hear. Sounds like we could be set on D if our prospects continue on the path there on. McCabe would be good to re-sign as a guy who can show these guys the defensive part of the game... Unless there's a better free agent option out there.

I guess with COVID there isnt much else going on. Hopefully your son gets into sports. My kids (boy and girl) both play hockey and those are some fun times! My son is almost 14 and he's hoping to make it to the OHL in a couple of years. I've coached my daughter for a few her seasons, and those have been great times as well.

Don't take this the wrong way, because I believe you when you say you're affable, but would the success of a pro sports team really be the most enjoyable thing to happen to you in a long time? For short term contracts, I'd say that's correct. For a long term contract, I think they'd look beyond that window.

I'm just saying there's a lot of factors a FA has to weigh when picking one team against another. Having a 6'5" 215lb 1st overall would be part of the sales pitch, but obviously not the only factor.

Taking Power (or promising to take Power) would help our negotiations with FA goaltenders this offseason.

Leafs haven't won a playoff series in 17 years. They haven't been to a cup final since there were just 6 teams. No Hellfire.

I live in Niagara Canada, and I don't know a single Leaf fan that would ever talk about hellfire and humiliation. The journalists... while ever present (moreso than in Buffalo), are much more balanced in their approach.

Did you not watch the Granato games. They played darn respectable hockey in the hardest 8 team league in the history of pro hockey.

Granato seemed to imply things were better in other markets. You reap what you sow.

Its frustrating for me to come on here and read the posts from so many Off the Deep End fans. Its fans like you the Harrington's and Sullivan's of the world are playing to... And its guys like them that chase our players out of town. Who could blame them for wanting out? Seriously... Hellfire??? Humiliation?!?! I had a great time watching the kids play the back half of the season and I'm excited for next year. Granato was great, and I've enjoyed his post-season interviews... Remember, he said they feel the negativity. Hopefully they'll find a way to get Sam and Jack excited for next year and grab a goalie (or two). There's serious potential here. And if it doesnt work out... c'est la vie.

People are talking about Eakin in the past tense... He's.still under contract. Sadly, I see this team giving minutes to him next year... because for whatever stupid reason, veterens in this league get every chance in the world to continue to suck, while viable talent sits upstairs or in the minors. Full marks to the team if they waive him to Rochester, or can trade him for a bucket of pucks.

I didn't listen too closely (i was working) but it seemed like he was calling out the media and the constant negativity in the postgame interviews. To some extent, the media is a function of the fanbase in that they're going to sell what we're buying. That spills over into how much players want to play here. I think our part is to not buy into the clowns that constantly sell us on negative articles. I enjoyed watching our young guys this year and choose to focus on that vs the poor results.

How about Penn State?
