Has anyone taken a look at his growth history? If he was always small going back to his earliest days and is past his growth spurt, you can likely throw him on the Zagrapan, Grigorenko trash heap of draft picks now. If the team did their due diligence and found the kid hit puberty late and is due to grow, then there's potential.

For sure he's not worth much... But as a (very) minor piece of a larger deal that includes the 2OA he could be. This isn't really about Borgen, but more about the Kraken cap space, their lack of a number 1 C, and their 2OA trade chip.

I haven't been following all the threads, but with all the cap space leftover, could Borgen and the 2OA be part of a package to take a run at Eichel? Does Reinhart for the 2OA plus Borgen get it done?

💯. The fact that someone would put up 2019 and 2020 numbers to make the point screams agenda. There's no arguing he's a different player now than he was in those seasons.

I get people don't like him because of the O'Reilly trade, because he struggled in his early days with the team, and for some reason because he's tall, but he was a key part of the team playing well under Granato. As his minutes went up, his decision making got better. He got to dangerous areas more often, and he seemed to generate a lot of open ice turnovers due to his reach. All evidence from Granato onwards is that he's easily a good 3rd liner on a good team. This team hasn't had good 3rd liners in forever, so they're not so easy to replace.
