  1. ...Maybe top 10 in the league with his slippery skating and passing ability. He's shown little to no defensive prowess thus far. Why is he committing to defense when it's clear that everything in his bag of tools is to be a forward?
  2. Sucks not having an NHL level goalie, but I was entertained tonight.
  3. You've got to stop more than a few that aren't your fault to cut it in the NHL.
  4. Maybe, but being an idiot and having mental illness aren't mutually exclusive afflictions. Methinks Lehner got his treatment for the latter, but the former is much more persistent.
  5. I've since learned it stands for Pretty Darn Quick-> not Pegula Drama Queen.
  6. He did get a 2nd opinion and they agreed with the team... It's one doctor... potentially trying to get famous with his somewhat cutting edge surgery that's complicating this.
  7. Out of curiosity, where are you from NS. My friend is a non-practising Muslim from Bosnia. When he first came to Canada, he started in Newfoundland, and then after a year or so of being a Newfie, he moved to Ontario.
  8. Can somebody get this guy out of here?
  9. Are you guys still talking about the Eichel?
  10. Using todays stats from Ontario. 80% adults fully vaxxed. 6% on one dose, 14% unvaxxed. Province wide, 102 people in the ICU are unvaxxed. 7 are fully vaxxed. Given the stark contrast in the numbers, it's hard to believe Dougie wants to take his chances on natural immunity indefinitely. Especially since he's given up what many would consider a dream job. If I could sing I'd gladly do it for a cheap seat in the 300s!
  11. Yeah probably. But the prospects tournament sounded a lot better.
  12. I can't believe no one commented on the sound quality. That was the biggest detriment to the overall watchability. I watched most of it, but I found I couldn't focus on both teams. I had to pick one at a time, usually depending who was on the ice. It's just one game but I expected more from Dahlin, Cozens, and Peterka (not that they were bad, I just expected a lot). I didn't expect much from Miller and he delivered even less than expected. All the goalies held their own. Murray's going to play his way into the lineup. Skinner had some flashes and looks like he could be ready to get back to being a dangerous top 6. Eakin looked better than last year for whatever that's worth.
  13. Sorry Dougie, but that natural immunity from January likely isn't what it once was now, and I'd hate to be counting on it in April 2022 (and beyond). Hard to believe someone would give up such a good gig because of some stupid ideology.
  14. ZEMGUS F***** GIRGENSONS!
  15. I don't think the stats bear out what you're saying but I hope you're right. 👍
  16. I'm excited too. I expect all the kids will take another step and Skinner, Okposo, and Girgs will all bounce back. My fear though is all of this will be overshadowed by the lack of goaltending. Seeing your team play well, only to have your goalie lose it for you is one of the biggest p***-offs in hockey.
  17. Since every movie needs a villian, I'd get Lionel Messi to play John Tavares.
  18. This is just another case of Adams' old school, screw the new generation / "I've won a cup mentality". He's handled this poorly from the start. Realistically, there's enough evidence to say the disc replacement could work. Yes it's never been done on a hockey player, but someone has to be the first. He should have been working with the team doctors and insurance people to help get the franchise C what he wants, but be in a position financially to cover their butts if the surgery fails. Personally, I wouldn't want fusion surgery either if I were in Eichel's shoes given there is a permanent albeit small loss in mobility. Instead, it's clear the team has done everything it can to work against Eichel... making the team look petty, but worse yet, killing the trade value.
  19. If Adams takes the "my hands are tied approach, but I want us to figure a solution out together,", Eichel doesn't give the post season interview he does. Side note: In minor hockey there's a 24 hour rule where you give yourself time to cool off after an incident. Usually cooler heads prevail. Jack went straight from the exit interview to the media... No time there to simmer down.
  20. So you don't see the nuanced "our way or the highway" tone vs a "this is a tough situation and we're trying to our best to find an amicable solution" tone.
  21. One thing I find is that Adams' tone seems to a tad adversarial... Unnecessararily so. If I were in his shoes, my tact would be to play the game on Eichel's side, but let him know my hands are tied because this is what the doctors and insurance companies are telling us. Essentially, working with him instead of against him. I think there's an element of the ex-player in him wanting to take on the "new-generation" star forward for not putting the team first like he and the boys would have done back in his day.
  22. After paying NYS taxes, getting divorced, and all these years of living an NHL player's lifestyle, that doesn't leave much to live on. Guaranteed he needs the $$$.
  23. Whoa! Are you Peters' accountant? How'd you find that out?
  24. If Biron and Duff are already salaried, it costs them nothing to work an extra 5 hours a week... While letting 2 guys go saves them money. Rivet doesn't need the money, but Peters in all likelihood does. I wonder what he'll do with himself given he wasn't particularly good at being a radio host (nor was he much of a hockey player either). Probably has alimony payments to boot.
