It's also important to leverage the regional aspect of the team. Yes, Buffalo is a small market at just over 1 million people. However, Rochester has 1 million in their greater area, and the Hamilton/Niagara area is well over 1 million. Tacking on the Greater Toronto area plus Kitchener-Waterloo, you've got one of the biggest population centers in all of North America within a 2 hour drive away... Likely in excess of 10 million people. The issue is attracting the fans that live in the 1-2 hour away radius. It's probably easier to do for football since the games are all on the weekend, and it's more of an event. But, if I'm the Pegulas, I'm going all out on attracting the outer markets for both hockey and football.

Are there really any other better locations? As a Canadian, I feel the downtown location is best for the convenience not only for me, but it's central location for most Buffalonians. The restaurant options and general atmosphere of the Canalside area add to the whole gameday experience as well. I love everything about it. People coming in from the Greater Rochester area might be the only ones to benefit from a more suburban location. Are there any recent examples of stadiums or arenas moving to the suburbs that proved to be a good financial decision?

At last check, last year's line of Hayden Eakin and Bjork was 437 out of 438 in expected goal %. Some of our improvement this year is addition by subtraction. https://www.sabrespace.com/community/topic/30653-bjork-eakin-hayden-2nd-worst-line-in-nhl-now-437-out-of-438/page/5/

He talked about it in his post game interview. I wasn't exactly listening at full attention, but he said something about him improving by not always stick handling to try to get the perfect shot off, but just getting shots through, and hoping for rebounds. I'm not sure if that was accounted for the huge game last night, but I did find that mentality is what helped him break out last year.

Portillo is currently sitting at a .905 save percentage. Johnson is third in scoring on the U of Minn D-core. I'm thinking at this point, either will be just as valuable (if not moreso) as compensatory picks rather than as players in the Sabres org (though my understanding of the compensatory pick process isn't exactly clear).

Man do those kids ever have it tough.

He's looked awful so far. In his younger years when a lot of people were down on him, I still saw some potential there. He'd show glimpses of his talent, but hadn't quite put it all together... Like he had Bambi legs. Now, other than his one goal, I see nothing. He's only had 2 or 3 times this year (other than PP) where I can recall where he's got his shot off... which is his best weapon. Last year you'd see 2 or 3 of those a game. Battle wise, he looks weak. What gives?

Seriously, does no one else find the lighting to be really dark on the main camera? Again, hopefully it's not just my TV on the way out. -

Anyone else finding the picture quality to be awful tonight? Hopefully it's not my TV. -
Kevyn Adams Updates Samuelsson and Jokiharju’s Injury Timelines

I stand corrected. It looks like you can pay for one in Ontario. https://www.axxessimaging.com/ The general consensus amongst the uninformed (of which I was part of) is that if you want a fast MRI you go to Buffalo and pay for it. -

There are no imaging centers allowed here in Ontario. Not sure about BC but I suspect it would be the same. The government doesn't allow pay to play diagnostics such as this to create the illusion that the size of your wallet shouldn't get you better care than the poor (or anyone else in society). They call it two tier healthcare. The reality is the level of care is poor across the board and allowing people to pay to get to the front of the line would most likely provide the necessary funding to improve the "free" system. If you do want an MRI fast, you do have the option to cross the border and pay for one out of pocket. -

I wonder if the delay is you can't get an MRI in Canada unless you wait months on end. Should have sent him directly to Seattle. -

Plus, the Sabres haven't really done anything yet. -

If the Bills have taught us anything, it's that they always come back. -

Tell me about it! The reality is there has been no real news yet. I've probably clicked in here 3 or 4 times now thinking there was a diagnosis and a quick timeline on return.
