  1. Are you even a Sabres fan?
  2. JoeSchmoe was the guy crying in the car listening on the radio. Well done by the team.
  3. Does a 4 year NCAA UFA get any kind of fast tracking momentarily contract wise? Or is the only advantage getting to pick your team, but you still have to do your do your time on an entry level contract and the RFA years?
  4. Just the other day I was wondering what would keep a player like him in the AHL. I guess it's all about the prospect of an NHL payday. It's too bad they couldn't have at least gotten something for him though. If he had gotten hot like he is now before the trade deadline maybe there would have been a taker.
  5. Krebs, Cozens, Mittelstadt, Thompson, Girgensens, and a moist towelette are all upgrades at C over Eakin. I think we're good.
  6. Using the same 100 minute scale as used with the steaming garbage line, they're 369 out of 438. Not good. However... The bigger news is the steaming garbage line is out of the cellar!!!! They are now a respectable 437 out of 438. Crouse-Galchenyuk-Kessel now hold down last spot. By a fair margin too. They're 25% vs 30.8% for Bjork and friends.
  7. Northeastern spring break is March 14-21. Wouldn't he have been with his hockey team preparing for the Frozen 4? This pic could have been taken any time, but if it's confirmed that it was just taken, I'd say he's on his way to signing a pro contract.
  8. If he's in Montreal and not in Boston taking classes or studying for exams, I would say that's a good thing.
  9. This is the number 1 reason. Also, I think we're letting a few of these guys off easy by calling them JAGs. Playing regular minutes and getting 6pts or less in more than 50 games is tragically bad (I'm looking at you Bjork and Hayden). If those two ever make it back into the lineup, we'll see a return to being a bottom 5 caliber team. You can call a Murray, a Ruotsailanen, or a Cagiulia a JAG. Bjork, Hayden, and Eakin are just sewer water.
  10. How many sticks would a U18 kid go through in a season? Interestingly, I bought my son a $200 stick that was on sale for just over $100 that was supposed to be a back / outdoor rink stick. He was shooting so well at the ODR that he tried it out in practice. Sure enough, he shoots better with that than his Super Tacks.
  11. I'm out over $1000 on sticks this year with my U15 AAA son. And I buy the closeout year old model sticks.
  12. I was at that game with my family growing up. My brother and I were just 6 and 7. He was a Bruins fan so we put a whopping $1 wager on the game. By the time it was 6-1 he was dancing, gloating, and just being a regular obnoxious 6 year old whose team is winning. As the comeback began, he got more and more quiet until finally the Sabres went ahead. Being the older brother, I did rub it in quite a bit, mimicking the exact dances and celly's he had been doing when he was ahead. My parents, both Sabres fans were in on it too to some degree as the hole he had dug with each Bruin goal got deeper and deeper. He has a viscous temper back then... And the water works were flowing hard when the game ended. My parents had to force him to give me the dollar. I want to say he also ripped it so I couldn't have it. Great times! I think in another year or so the pain of losing the $1 wore off and the fact he saw such a huge comeback outweighed the fact his team lost. It's a story we both love to tell our kids as well which they think is hilarious.
  13. I'm not. I'll probably read every blog and news outlet that talks about the team and the comeback!
  14. Holy ***** guys, I can't wait until next year. I hope Levi and Power watched that!
  15. Lankinen even looked like a failure hacking away at the post.
  16. Peters and especially Rayzor did well for themselves. Barnaby lost most of them though.
  17. Drunk guy vs baked guy!!!! Haha!!!
  18. I'm not worried about UPLs hurt feelings. Give Levi a shot ahead of him. UPL had had ample time to take the reins and be the team's franchise goalie, but progress has been slow. Under .900 in ROC is pretty underwhelming for a third pro season. Understandably, a goaltender's development path is longer than that of a position player, but it almost seems more likely that he'll never be an NHL calibre goalie than it is that he'll one day be the team's starter. Most importantly, given UPL has had no other prospects in the org to challenge him, maybe giving Levi a shot will motivate him to be better next season.
  19. Maybe once he wins the Hobey Baker he'll announce his decision. Would going pro before the selection hurt his chances?
  20. Looking from Levi's perspective is if I don't go pro, I got to FA one season later, and if I have a career ending injury in college, I'm screwed. The only caveat is that his family appears to be loaded and money might not be as big of a factor as lifestyle. And why the heck wouldn't the Sabres splurge the extra couple hundred thousand to give him first round money. I can't believe that is actually a talking point.
