  1. Update... His favourite restaurant is Peart St Grill so we're going there.
  2. Last minute question I know... We live about 45min from the border. My 16yo is a huge Bills fan. He's been really stressed about school, and I was thinking of giving him a surprise break from his studies by taking him across the border to watch today's game with other Bills fans. Any suggestions where we could go with a good Bills crowd, and actually get a seat somewhere? Bonus points if it's closer to the Falls. Thanks everyone!
  3. Why does Samuelson have a goal meme?! 😉
  4. Don't forget friendly!
  5. I said in the Mexican thread, I think the original in Syracuse is more consistent than the Buffalo and Rochester locations. The ribs are always really meaty and never overdone. The brisket is always juicy like it should be. Push come to shove, I'd say I've had better quality in Buffalo over Rochester, but I would say the Rochester location and ambience wins. Did anyone else ever eat at Kentucky Greg's? That was my go to many years ago.
  6. Only to have a reasonable conversation on BBQ in WNY. Not to have it trolled on by someone that thinks Texas BBQ is the only BBQ worth eating or talking about.
  7. Ok then... So you can continue to tell the rest of the world we're wrong... Or you can politely remove yourself from the discussion. BBQ has many different regional varieties, but it sounds like you're unwilling to admit that anyone could like anything other than the Texas style, which IMHO has been overhyped as of late.
  8. The Kansas City BBQ Society is the top dog when it comes to BBQ judging. Here are the top teams of 2023. In googling the locations of the top 5 teams here are the locations by state: 1 GETTIN' BASTED, MO 2 JANKY LEG BBQ, IL 3 CHUNKY BBQ, PA 4 UNDER THE RADAR, TN 5 Smoked & Furious, OK https://mms.kcbs.us/members/toy_scores.php?org_id=KCBA&year=2023
  9. With the team sucking right now, I'd rather talk food. Here in Canada, all BBQ sucks (other than home cooked). Been crossing the river for many years for decent BBQ. I used to hit the now closed Kentucky Greg's in Depew way back in the day which was excellent. Now I'm exclusively Dinosaur. Been to the Brickyard in Lewiston and wasn't overly impressed. Was more like a Canadian level place. Any other places I need to try?
  10. My brother has done a lot of traveling throughout the south but he still puts Dinosaur BBQ against the best of them. Granted I find the Buffalo and Rochester locations aren't as consistently good as the Syracuse one... Even still on a bad day they're good. But between the two of us, we've always found the Syracuse location to be nothing less than excellent.
  11. Would love to see a comparable thread on BBQ.
  12. I popped into this thread and first read Inky's Kulich post. I went straight to the scoresheet to check Kulich out and in doing so saw a G beside Strauss Mann. Thinking it was in error I came back in here. I'm surprised the goalie "scoring" in the 1st period isn't a bigger topic of conversation. Has that ever happened before in the NHL? I wonder if Strauss Mann would take any pride in that given it was just an own goal? Didn't look like it in the clip I guess.
  13. Just wondering what fancy stats show Clifton to be a good signing, or are you just going by this year's play? Granted I'm not an expert, but all the stats I've looked at are average to below average which is really hard to do on a team that was a good as Boston. He's sub 50% for 5 on 5 Corsi. His expected goal % was 50.7 on a team that had a +128 goal differential. His actual goal differential (+/-) was 17... which is better. But that's not necessarily a fancy stat.
  14. His advanced stats on Boston last year were not good. Take him off one of the best regular season team of all time and put him on a team that struggles defensively, you'll get what you're seeing here. It was a terrible signing. Adams should have traded forward depth for a legit #4 solid defensive defensemen.
  15. What about Lundqvist? Just googled it... Add Barrasso and Vernon to the list.
  16. I 100% agree with the approach. The difference here is I'm less sure of Power's ability to live up to the contract as I was with the other guys. I think we're partially paying for the 1st OA even though it was a weak draft. Lets hope it works out!
  17. This is the riskiest contract yet. I hope it works out!
  18. So are we just going to assume Ryan Miller, Daniel Briere, and Michael Funk don't eventually get the nod?
  19. Looks like "your" missing the point. The grammar is fully emblematic of the content.
  20. The grammar of this post says it all.
  21. Friend of mine works for Rich's. Creamer apparently is a very, very small part of their overall business. They're a food services company. They have factories all over North America making anything and everything food related. Their customers are grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc... You buy "fresh" bread at the conglomerate grocery store... there's a good chance it came from Rich's frozen bread dough. You buy pizza from the gas station... Rich's made it. You eat the pulled pork from the chain restaurant... there's a good chance it came from Rich's factory sized smokehouse and packaged up to the restaurant spec. Other than good ma and pa restaurants, nobody makes anything from scratch anymore. It's all stuff from food service customers like Rich's. That's why my friend won't eat out anymore unless it's a better non-chain place.
  22. Didn't like his defensive game either, but had higher hopes for him based on him being more highly touted. Also he started a year younger, played for a far worse team, and was put into much higher leverage situations given there was no one else really besides him. Edit: I would have taken 7 or 7.5mill a season over 8 years when he signed his bridge deal.
  23. From what I've seen of Power so far, I project him being worth about $8 or 9 million a season when he peaks. His draft class was seen as weak overall, and in most years he might have been in the 3 to 6 OA slot. My opinion is it's only his #1 OA pick that has him projected in the $11M ballpark. If starts using his size defensively, and greatly improves his shot, I can be proven wrong. Given he still played smaller than what he is in college, I'm thinking he doesn't have the big dog mentality in him.
