Yup. Their defense is pretty good. They went up and down the field yesterday but 5 turnovers killed them and they still almost won the game. Not going to be a walk in the park.

This might be the worst defense I have ever seen. This team might go 9-8 this year. For the Bills.

Beane rolled out the same team. No wr’s that can get separation and the defense got worse. This might be a bottom 5 defense. Terrible coaching all around. They wasted one of the greatest QBs of all time so far. Wasted it.

Hopefully we go down and not up like this year. But yeah, this is a 75-85 point team next year.

I was hoping we would make a run at one of the top forwards knowing we probably would not. Looks like another 80 point season coming up. That roster has little chance of being a playoff team. Lots has to go right.

No. We switched tougher defense in exchange for goalscoring getting rid of JJ. 2 steps forward 2 steps back. 80 l-85 point team as is.

There are several teams that are destination cities and have huge advantages over others. Parity via free agency is no longer a lock. The Sabres are at the bottom and likely never to rise to contender status again. Some of it is our own doing. But not everything is.

Can't give a grade yet until we see if he can lure a top 6 forward in free agency. With an improved defense and overall tougher team, we should see some actual steps forward next year. Unfortunately, we are nowhere near a playoff team. If we can get to 90 points that would be progress and probably the ceiling for this roster. This is a long-term project to fix. On the flip side, we could be flirting with total disaster if no progress is made.

At least it seems they realize this and are actively starting to address it. Rome wasn't built in a day. lol

They have addressed an organizational deficiency that has haunted them for probably a decade. This addresses a huge need and a step in the right direction. You now have starters plus potential depth with a good mix of styles. Outside of the weak return on JJ, it seems to me some big boys have stepped in and are directing KA to build a proper foundation to our hockey program. We had to get tougher to play against, which has been the number one problem for nearly two decades.

The plan seems pretty clear. This offseason was about rebuilding the blue line organizational wise. Probably Lindy and the Columbus guy is behind this trend. Hopefully Adams can land a top 6 in FA. But I don't have faith.
