Even if he is 3rd is still better than the 7th or 8th rated forward prospect. He has unique size and hockey IQ, coveted in todays game. It's all a crap shoot by 9 anyways. We could have a really good top 4 down the road.

I actually like this pick. Gives us a really good prospect pool on defense, which is foundational to the future. Any forward was a gamble at this point anyways. We could of drafted the 7th best forward prospect or the second best defensive prospect in the draft.

Not a sexy pick, but foundational down the road. Whoever we picked was not coming to the team for a few years anyways.

I’m lucky enough to have the Panthers down the 95 and at least get to enjoy watching a hometown dynasty. The Sabres being so egregiously bad for so long makes it easier.

All those seasons getting excited watching JJ develop thinking h was a future piece to get us back to relevancy... and boom.. once again they rip our hearts out just like Sam, Jack, and others. It is pointless to even get excited about the prospects anymore now knowing they will want out.

We got cremated in this trade. If you get a d man for a top 6 winger, it needs to be an established top pairing d man. What another depressing trade.

Hit a bullseye drafting JJ. Developed him properly. Was a stud set to solidify a top 6 position.... and he wanted out like everyone else. This franchise is beyond broken. We truly are the development team for the rest of the league.

Fold the franchise and put us all out of our misery.

This should of been figured out 3 years ago.

Another bad year and Him and Dahlin are goners. We are probably the worst franchise in modern history. It is crucial we make significant progress this year or the franchise will be clearly in a death spiral if we are not already.

When we passed Rossi for him I almost fell over. Another blunder.

The 05-06 Sabres team was the closest we ever had to a team like this. It was unfortunate the defense got decimated by injuries before game 7. That was sad. we have never recovered, and management was atrociously bad not to keep the core of that team together past 07.

Peterka is going to be a really good player in this league. And he will do it mostly on another team (joining many other former Sabres to do so). Sabres are a developmental squad for contenders.
