Ya I think what really 'helped' the tank last year after the deadline was Enroth and Neuvirth both getting hurt almost immediately and forcing us to play the two AHL goalies (in which Hackett then also got hurt) down the stretch. I think we will be picking between 5-8 which will still be a hell of a player but not nearly the level of McEichel. By the way I'm not giving up on the tank but this is just where I see it going.

You think the lottery system has solved the tanking problems? There has been a lot of talk like that around here due to the state of the Sabres but I think it's been much worse in the NBA. Either way I'll be so glad when this Sabres season is over. It really does suck rooting for the tanks. I just hope it pays off for the Bucs and more importantly the Sabres. October 2015 can't come soon enough.....

Can't wait for this upcoming Canada / USA game on Wednesday. So many intriguing story lines. McDavid/Eichle, Reinhart/Fasching and Compher, not to mention the huge rivalry of the two teams.

Wasn't sure where to put this but since GoDD resurrected this thread I'll put it here. I'm as big of a Tampa Bay Bucs fan as I am Bills fan and for all you Sabres pro-tankers out there this is how you get it done!! http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12088567/tampa-bay-buccaneers-blow-big-lead-lose-secure-no-1-pick The Bucs lose yesterday and they pick first in the draft. Win and they pick second. Well with them beating the Aints by 13 in the 4th quarter Lovie Smith literally pulls all of his starters. VJax and potential rookie of the year candidate Mike Evans didn't play a snap in the 4th Q. When Evans was asked about it after the game he said the coach thought he was winded so he didn't play. He was winded the whole 4th Q?! With all third and fourth stringers in the Aints came back and won the game late, thus sealing the first pick. Sabres, are you watching?!

Watched every reinhart shift tonight and he played a good game. I still don't like how he can be pushed off the puck but he's always in the right spot and played very well defensively. Also he had that beauty no look pass on the Canadians third goal. Put him with a natural goal scorer and enjoy for years to come. Should also mention the only face off I noticed him lose was the one that lead to the goal. He was great on the draw.

I'm sure this may be being discussed in the gdt but I thought armia looked pretty good out there for his first nhl game. Very confident player and I love his size. Future looks bright.

I still can't believe Baptiste got cut. But then again Canada also cut Dal Cole who has scored 21 goals in 23 games and is on a 2.0 point per game pace. Either there are a ton of politics going on or this Team Canada is going to be very very dangerous to have enough talent to cut those two.

Ya Barbie has three less goals but three times the amount of assists as Lemieux. Both are having good years and look like solid prospects. The scouts chose the better power play guy that has a mean streak in him over the guy that puts up a bunch of points but someone we seem to have in spades. I liked the pick then and still prefer it now.

I can change the flex spot to allow for a TE. Although if you're actually contemplating putting a TE in the flex spot then you're probably in a lot of trouble to begin with.

He is playing with Ryan macinnis who is nearly a point a game player with 22 assists. He was taken 43 overall last year by Arizona. Not exactly mcdavid but it's not like he's a one man wrecking crew either. Love his progress this year tho

I'm sure this is likely the last day of work before the Christmas holidays for some of you. I have a family Christmas gathering this weekend I'm really looking forward too. Haven't seen a couple of my cousins in two years. Happy Friday all.

Sharder has hit the nail on the head. No pro-tanker or anyone has or ever will imply that having McEichel is the only way to win a cup. When some of us are pissed about some of these wins it's because we would still rather pick 3rd or 4th rather than 10th or 11th. I want our young guys to look good and improve but there are still several futures not on this squad that 4 more months of losing is worth it IMO. By the way is this some kind of witch hunt?

You better take a few games off. Concussions are no joke. It ended my 'career' of contact hockey when I was 19. One more concussion and I would have been in big trouble. My problem is I remember vividly my first and I went out and played the next game and got hit again. Seriously, take a few weeks off.
