  1. I agree that there is no way Enroth plays this well the rest of the year but my tank fear is our D has played so well that we're keeping a lot of shots from the outside. Lot's of teams feel the best way to beat Enroth is any and all shots because of his below avg rebound control which is true but our top 2 pairings are doing a great job of keeping the grade A scoring chances to a min. I think you could put most avg NHL goaltenders in there our D would make them look pretty good based on numbers alone. Our 'scoring' particularly outside of our top line is what is keeping any shred of hope alive.
  2. Hahhahahaha, I'm glad you're posting more now of days TBP. I don't want to give up on this thing yet but damn our D looks stingy.
  3. Hahhahaha true. Plus I'm surprised they haven't contributed on the O much this year as they both have that potential.
  4. It's tough watching certain players on tv rather than being there but 55 and 51 have been near lights out IMO. I don't see how they could possibly be a lot better come February.
  5. I'd be on board with an Enroth trade.
  6. Problem is I don't know of any moves Murray could pull off to help the tank. Other than enroth none of the pending ufa guys are doing anything. The best players have been risto, zad, Myers, Girgs, Ennis and moulson. All of those guys may be part of the long term answer. It was mentioned by someone that they heard ted black talk about possibly letting zad play for Russia in the wjc. That could be spun as a developmental move and help the tank over the short term. Not much else can be done except hope enroth falls back to earth.
  7. Hahhahahaa, well said. How can you not help but laugh picturing Stewart pouting and changing in a boiler room. In a contract year this is not helping his cause.
  8. I've been voting the last few days. This is great.
  9. I would take Strome over Marner as well at this point. Zacha at 17?!?!
  10. Hahhahahah nicely done TBP.
  11. Ya it's been damn impressive. I've seen his height listed as 5'10 on some sites and 5'11 in others. If he was a couple of inches taller he would likely be a surefire top 5 pick. At the end of the day he still very well may end up there. I haven't seen too many Sarnia games to comment on his type of game.
  12. If Strome continues his domination (especially with McDavid out) then he may unseat Hannifan for third overall when all is said and done. I'm loving a top 5 of McEichle, Hannifan, Strome and possibly Zacha who is starting to heat up. I'm really looking forward to the WJC as many top draft eligible players will be on full display. With it being in Canada this year I won't have to wake up in the middle of the night to watch it either.
  13. A big congrats to: Witty Names are Hard JuJu Fish dennisthemenace Labatt Blue For making it to the playoffs. Good luck in the playoffs guys! *Boos continue to rain down on commissioner* By the way, who on here is the 'Witty Names are hard'?
  14. Reinhart has been great in his return. It was expected but nice to see him going down there and ripping it up. There is talk he will be Team Canada's captain and I can't wait to see how he looks in this prestigious tourney.
  15. Unfortunately some of our OHL prospects have been cooling off lately. Baptiste with 2 goals and 1 assist in the 7 games he's played with Erie. I watched last nights game against the Gens and he looked ok but was unable to get on the score sheet. I imagine he will start ripping it up once McDavid gets back as he's projected to be on a line with him. Bailey has 1 goal and is a -10 over his last seven games. Small sample sizes and I'm sure they will bounce back as they are good players with Bailey having an excellent year before this rough patch.
  16. Still another quarter to go but good thing you didn't talk yourself into Grice this week.
  17. Man I really wish I could have the win win scenario you have.
  18. Congrats Glass.
  19. Hahahha I hear ya. Tough timing the market so maybe I'll put a little down and then wait out the storm and hope oil prices go back to over $80 per barrel.
  20. This is true. I guess I'll just have to sit on it and hope it goes up at some point. Although it's times like these I wonder if throwing down a grand or so can really pay off. But is it really worth the gamble? I could never be a day trader.....
  21. So anyone else own shares in Pengrowth (PGF)? It's been free falling for a couple of months now and is down over 50% YTD. This is when you say 'these are only paper loses' right? Right? http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/markets/stocks/summary/?q=PGF-T
  22. It's the T.O. media so I guess this is what I should just expect.
  23. I'm with Drunkard on this in that I'm not ready to concede it if he stays playing center, which I think he should. He very well likely could be a good second liner on a good team though. Time will tell. Interesting article on Z and didn't know where else to put it. Author sells him short IMO. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/person-of-interest-get-to-know-zemgus-girgensons/
  24. I was going to jump in and say yes we have that in spades and rattle off a bunch of names but dudacek hit on all of them but Lemieux which Drunkard brought up. I think this next core will be way more tough to play against than the last one. I like Compher as a potential top 6 at this point along with Grigs likely being second (or really great third) liner. Plus Risto and Zad play tough and they may very well be our future top pairing. We also have a number of tough/gritty players that could fill the third line nicely.
