It's tough to say who will be the teams below Buffalo next season as I didn't expect a team like CBJ to be bottom 5 or 6 in the league this year. But as mentioned above, and assuming a coaching change, there is no way we will be bottom 2. I believe somewhat in the Corsi matrix but prior to this year, didn't the 2014/2015 leafs have the worst Corsi rating? They finished 5th or 6th last. It takes a special kind of suck to finish bottom 2 (as we all know) and I can't see us adding all of those players, adding a competent coach and still finishing there.

Also, if you're talking since the deadline then don't forget Girgs has been out that entire stretch. Our four centres are literally AHL call-ups. Girgs will be back centering a line next year. Plus, I don't have huge expectations for Reinhart for his first season but I still think he plays all or atleast the majority of the season with the big club. How will he fair as a rookie? It has to be better than Phil Varone doesn't it? Throw in a legit top 6 winger in Kane and an improved D core and there's no way they are in the bottom 2.

No way they are bottom 2 next year. The way Murray has spoken many a changes will likely take place this offseason. There's already ROR rumors which could involve our 1st round pick plus. Not to mention he's hinted at potentially trading for a young goaltender. Even if we draft 3rd/4th and that pick doesn't play on this team next year they still won't be a bottom 2 team. I wouldn't say an automatic no to say 5th last but I highly doubt bottom 2.

With the changes to the lottery system and additions/promotions of Kane, Pysyk, possibly McCabe and Reinhart, a healthy Bogo and Girgs and any other offseason additions, I don't see us at the bottom next year. We won't be a playoff team but you can see how hard it is to finish DFL even when trying. I would think we will probably be around 8th worst. Even if we were dead last, what are the odds we win the lottery? I can't do another tank year, I just can't.

Not going to happen. Especially with either of the top 2 not wanting to sign with Buffalo. Not worth a second thought.

How good is hanifin? Seriously? For me it's always been about and still is all about mceichel? However, there's obviously a good chance we pick third. So we're looking at Hanifin, marner and strome. Marner had a great middle of the year but I don't know if I can trust an undersized winger scoring 2 goals over a 19 game span in junior hockey. Strome doesn't get a lot of love despite also putting up a bunch of points. Maybe because he's in mcdavids shadow? Brings me to hanifin. Other than a couple guys he seems to be the near consensus third ranked prospect. Obviously organizationally we would prefer a forward but if hanifin is the better prospect then I want him. Anyone been following him this year? What can he do that is worthy of third overall? Sorry for any grammatical errors as I'm on my phone.

With this considered a deep draft then I will be fine with then going bpa with their later first and early second.

Can't see us winning the shart. Only thing to see now is if we can end up in second. Atleast then we would still have a 1 in 3 shot at McEichel.....

When Nolan was fired last time there were many fans who wished him well and felt he got a raw deal. This time he can go himself and never come back to the league again.

I'm with you guys on this. I have a feeling TM is going to be very active this offseason. That doesn't mean just FA but also trades, particularly around the draft. McEichel or not, I think Tim wants this team to make some big strides next year and will be in on ROR discussions and others who can help right away.

There were a bunch of players on the blue and white who should be embarrassed of themselves. I thought Phaneuf was a joke and Kessel was invisible save for the last five min and then OT. You saw in that ten minute span how good he can be which would make me even more frustrated if I were a leaf fan. Komorov was about the only guy who seemed to give a last night.

I've been pro-tank from the beginning and have watched every game. I'm sure many others have as well.

I'm just assuming they beat Toronto in a couple weeks as the leafs are playing excellent hockey right now (chl lingo)

We're basically up 1 and 4. No way we best Toronto April first. Still don't know how we won tonight. The leafs looked excellent.

Very notable. He seems to be one of the very few that consistently has Hanifin outside of the top 3 or 4.

I watch every game. It's killing me slowly..... Actually, I do record each one so I can get through it in an hour so I guess I'm cheating a bit.

With McEichel I would be surprised. Without, I'd be surprised if we weren't. One more month. Thank God, one more month. We can do this.
