I would be very surprised if they can afford Doughty. Leafs are already approaching cap issues. Spoke at length with a leaf fan yesterday on what they plan to do with Matthews contract. I think the obvious parallel will be a deal similar to Jack. The issue is the cap not next season but the season after. They signed Marleau for big money but it was a 3 year deal rather than a 2 year. I found that very interesting as that's the theoretical first season Matthews deal would kick in (not to mention I believe the first year of Marner and Nylanders though I don't know if they will be bridge or what). Marleau could be moved or have a nagging injury which gets them out of the last year but as of now I think they're a little tough to add a bunch of money. Also, GA, I really think you are flat out wrong about Anderson.

Wow that’s a statement. Completely agree with his lack of shooting. He has a top 5 shot in the nhl IMO. He needs to shoot more. But damn I’ve had so much fun watching. Since his return I’ve only turned the game on to watch him. As others have said I’m in the he’s not untouchable but would have to be a huge haul to trade camp.

Thanks for the short read. Surprised it says NHL arrival as next season. Boy is this a big offseason for Nylander. I, like some, have written off the idea of Nylander being a very impactful top 6 forward. But kid has mad skill. If he can figure out how to dramatically improve his all around game, it would be huge. He will be someone I will watch very closely when training camp opens in September.

I unfortunately missed this one. Sounds like they played well. The team has really turned the corner over the past month and a half or so. I'm predicting atleast 13 points in their remaining 10 games. Wouldn't be surprised if it's more.

Not saying it’s impossible but in most years it’s the teams with the star qb who go the furthest. If these three qb have major flaws then so be it but without a top 15 qb were spinning in circles like we have since Jim Kelley.

Qb in football is completely different than any other position in sports. Kane isn’t a qb. ROR isn’t a qb. It’s apples and oranges. Now if these guys have major flaws then sure I’m hesitant to trade away all the draft capital as well. But if you are putting your career on the line believing a certain guy can be the guy then you go for it. Even if the bills are really good and deep, how far can AJ Mccarron get them?

To be honest I would trade the farm too. But it takes 2 to tango. If I was a jets fan I would be thrilled with what their front office did. Cost a ton to move up 3 spots but they’re guaranteed a potential franchise qb.

I didn’t say it was a reasonable price they paid (because it was a huge price) but it still screwed over the bills. Indy was the logical choice to trade with and now its out. I just don’t see the giants moving out of 2. Therefore the next logical trade partner might be Tampa bay at 7 but what’s the point if the big 3 and likely 4 are off the board by then? This. But I don’t see how it happens now unless we trade the farm AND ny giants agree to trade back.
