  1. I’ve always lived in upstate NY my whole life, but if I were ever to move, I’d take my teams with me. That’s what most people do. You can’t just switch allegiances, that would be weird. As far as the Pegula’s keeping the team but just signing checks, I don’t think they can help themselves unless there is structure in place forcing them. I admit I want them to sell the team.
  2. A boycott on tickets and tv ratings will be even more effective, long lasting, and free. If it goes deep enough a boycott would make even more media attention.
  3. It’s been a decade, enough is enough. These bafoons have turned our once proud franchise into a laughingstock. As fans we have only one logical option for change.
  4. Kind of harsh here but agree that something has to give. We use to drive to Buffalo (3.5 hours) every year for a game. And before the Harborcenter we would drive right back home. We would spend about $800 a year on those trips. Those days are done.
  5. I honestly think we’ve officially gotten into boycott territory. If enough fans boycotted the team we could force the Pegula’s into changing their operating style or selling.
  6. I’m partially to blame, I admit I don’t really watch the games anymore. As a busy husband/ father who works nights and is a volunteer ff there is only so much time in a day... not worth making the sacrifice to see the product that ownership is icing.
  7. The two leagues I watch are MLS and the Premier League, and there is an obvious difference in the two of course. Still, MLS is light years above the Dlll team at the college I work. I’m actually really satisfied with the MLS product. I will certainly have to check this out, thanks.
  8. It’s April- November which is the opposite of other leagues. The Premiere League (UK) for example just wrapped up a couple days ago. MLS is growing at a very fast rate and I predict that when we’re all old it will be just as popular as NBA/ NHL if not more. Soccer is really exciting I just recently started getting into it and I’m glad I did. MLS has been expanding a lot but it’s always the same team; there is no promotion/ relegation like in all the other leagues in the world. They even have a playoff system like all the other North American sports. It’s worth checking out. ⚽️
  9. It’s interesting that some GMs are thinking exactly what some of us are saying, yet got pushback on. Think we all have to agree that it is at least a logical and reasonable thing to speculate on.
  10. Man I miss those bubble teams around 2007-2011, feels like it’s been so long since I actually enjoyed being a Sabres fan. 😔
  11. Horrible season last year, but a thrilling one two years before that. I prefer college over NFL personally. Much more exciting.
  12. Anyone else here like Syracuse football?
  13. Probably because they already say ‘eh’ all the time, gotta mix it up.
  14. I have no idea but at this point I just assume the worst about ownership without even bothering to get the facts first tbh.
  15. Man this is just, so cringe. Ownership is like some sad dude trying to get his ex back or something.
  16. I’m getting tunnel vision for Zegras but that’s because it was such a joy watching and rooting for him in the WJC.
  17. Gleyber Torres had COVID, later was vaccinated, and then got COVID a second time. A great reminder that the vaccine essentially keeps people off ventilators and out of the hospital, but we can definitely still get it and pass it to others.
  18. I just hope that someone, anyone (league officials, other owners etc) will step in and tell TP enough is enough. They need to change how they are running the team. No trades are going to fix what underlies all of this, the way they operate the franchise is a structural problem. This ain’t baseball where you can just throw money at a team and have a relatively good chance of it producing fruit.
  19. I don’t think they are interested in a POHO either, or making a radical change with the owners stepping back. I just feel like this is a golden opportunity to make real substantial changes and fear that new trades will just be putting band aids on the real problems.
  20. ^ I too suspect that Kim has a negative influence on the decisions being made. Though some will get angry and pushback etc on that, I just don’t see how the spouse of an owner being so involved could be a good thing. I also think she’s been behind other FO decisions about what the team does that I won’t get into here.
  21. Though conventional wisdom is that we have to get a 1C back for Jack I almost wonder if we should use this opportunity as a chance to get a ton of new pieces, hear me out for a minute; trades and FA hasn’t worked out for us and it seems like drafting has been our biggest weakness the last decade. What if this is the opportunity to have a Vegas like new beginning? Front office needs to change, no more Pegula’s making choices like they’re buying hockey cards on eBay, get a POHO and a new drafting dept. Move Jack and Risto and make sure we get an established solid goalie and a ton of gritty hard working players. Though if we have to trade Sam we’re gonna need a top six C.
  22. Well, I mean, they are malcontents. Not saying that they don’t have a right to be though. Trust me, I do not hold ownership blameless in this situation.
  23. The more I think about it, I can envision a scenario where Jack, Sam and Risto all demand a trade and KA basically tells them no (because the value coming back isn’t worth it). Man, if things are bad now, imagine how much worse it will be if that happens? What a mess. I keep going back and forth in my mind from trade these malcontents now, to they signed a contract, make them stay and who cares what they want. At some point KA may be forced to drop the hammer.
  24. He actually gave my brother a shout out/ support on Twitter once because they had a bad house fire. My brother is a Bruins fan. I’ve since gained a little bit of respect for him since then but still don’t like him as a player of course.
