  1. I’d say this one, but at this point they’ve all kind of melted into one another as one big ten year long awful season. I hate to say this but it has actually impacted my joy for the sport. At one time hockey was my favorite sport and I thought it would be like that always, now it’s third behind baseball and soccer. I didn’t even watch soccer before all this began. It’s taken it’s toll on me as a fan.
  2. I left my rod and reel home, I’m not about to mess with DEC. Besides, I’m a conservationist I’m sure there is a valid reason for the restrictions. Just bummed about it.
  3. I’m not sure how the logistics work though; how do they know what I’m targeting? If fishing for walleye, are there only certain lures allowed?
  4. I’m actually heading up there early Monday morning and staying in Canton for the week (work trip). To my dismay apparently you can’t fish catch and release before bass season opens there. Very disappointed. I’m still salty about him scoring that gold winning goal against Miller in 2010. No thanks.
  5. Have been watching KBF (Kayak Bass Fishing) tournaments lately on YouTube. It’s much different than the recreational pace that I do it at, but it’s really cool to watch some of these guys and gals.
  6. Dahlin is a puck moving dman, so that’s not an accurate equivalency as they play two very different roles on the ice. I’m not going to pretend like I know everything about Power, this is baseball season for me and I couldn’t be more discouraged about the Sabres and hockey in general. But when I compare the two different picks, a quick glance tells me Power has a much better chance of playing the way I think we need to be playing eventually.
  7. Is Dahlin camping out and screening netminders, or clearing the crease for our own? We need some of that in this league. Agreed but he is young and hoping he will grow into it.
  8. At 6’5” there is a very good chance he will grow into his frame and his game will reflect that. He’s very young still. I strongly doubt he is Tyler Myers (who was on the ice during the Lucic incident) 2.0.
  9. After watching the Sabres get manhandled on the ice and our goalies constantly screened for the last 10 -12 years or so (except for maybe when John Scott was here for a bit) give me the bigger player.
  10. You’re absolutely right, I’m just so salty lately towards ownership I think everything they do I’m going to find fault with. But what you’re saying is certainly reasonable.
  11. It’s alarming that an NHL org-an-eye zation doesn’t even know what their contractual rights are.
  12. Sounds to me like you’ve already gotten into some glasses of wine. Honestly, your argumentation is all over the place. For someone who keep harping on “critical reading”, you’re not exactly displaying it yourself. And by the way, idc if 90 percent of this board agrees with your take, this tends to be an echo chamber anyhow. In closing, Kong called KP a trophy wife. Lots of guys started white knighting and said no way is that the case. I agreed that the term was harsh, but laughed at their ridiculous outrage as the shoe kind of fit, at least in the conventional sense from the outside looking in. Far as your history of posting about the Pegula’s, or whatever, I don’t need to have a bio of all your previous works in order to comment on your words in the present day.
  13. How can I be misrepresenting your posts when I am directly quoting you? Don’t get upset with me because you are not careful or concise enough with your verbiage. You’ve asked me to ask you for sources, okay then - again, what was Terry Pegula’s net worth in 1993? Common reading comprehension would allow you to realize that I’ve already asked that in this discussion to someone else, it was never answered. You’ll notice I use basic logic to conclude that Terry was wealthy in 1993, albeit not like he is today. You say otherwise, walk us through your reasoning. Keep in mind, engineers tend to be well off, especially ones who are nearly ten years out of college and own their own business..
  14. “Kim Pegula sucks because she can't understand what it takes to be a president of an NHL organization. Kim Pegula does not suck because she is a woman”. Agreed.
  15. “But to say sexism is the reason for our failures or that Kim is incapable or righting this ship is BS”. The fact that after all these years you think Kim Pegula can still right this ship speaks volumes. I don’t even need to bother to press you about the other things you asserted as factual without, well, facts. As far as thinking critically is concerned, no one even inferred that sexism is the reason for our failures; what did happen was some people got offended and thought the trophy wife comment from Kong was sexist. Try to keep up.
  16. I’m pulling for Anaheim because I want Zegras. If not I’d like a bunch of young players (not prospects) and an elite goalie. This is in regard to both Jack and Sam together. The young players would have to include a 1C obviously.
  17. I’ve asked what TP’s net worth was in 1993 which no one has answered me. Do you know what it is? What I know is that he was an engineer with his own company at that point, and gave her his business card when they met. He was also out of college for almost a decade at that point. Let’s not kid ourselves and act as if he wasn’t already well off by anyone’s standard at that point; wasn’t exactly a blue collar, check to check guy in 1993.
  18. She is way more involved with the team than I would like, which brings a lot of attention on her, particularly her credentials.
  19. “unable to provide a single act or statement supporting it” I’ve offered several reasons supporting it; age difference, TP being in a position of authority over her, and his wealth. Not sure what else you need someone to put forth. Younger women marrying older men for their money is a thing, as is the older men marrying the younger women for their looks. Do you deny this? I thought Kong’s verbiage was harsh as well (this is like the fourth time I’ve said this), but TP and KP fit that description. Again, I couldn’t care less what they do but the virtue signaling from many here is comical, and it’s also inconsistent. We speculate on players personal lives often but for some reason KP is off limits.
  20. Don’t put words in my mouth, Kong said it not me. I even explicitly stated twice it was too harsh for my taste. What I am pushing back on is this outrage that seems to suggest there is no way she is a “trophy wife”, when all indications seem to point that to be the case. But I guess I’m a terrible person because I’m using common sense and basic logic. Better shut down this thread, people are saying mean things about a lady!
  21. If Kong were an NHL owner you’d really have him here. But since he’s not, it’s a category error.
  22. You know exactly what it means; we live in a culture where certain inconvenient truths are declared false if they don’t fit the group think narrative. In this context, insulting a woman = not acceptable even if true. Again, it was too harsh for my taste but those who are trying to attack what he said on the very merit of his argument have little to go on other than “I don’t like that”. TP is 18 years older than Kim, was her boss, and was already well off. To say that these things don’t raise an eyebrow is a little ridiculous. Personally I don’t really care what they do I just find these PC reactions a bit humorous.
  23. What was Terry Pegula’s net worth in 1993? You do realize that they met under the premise of him being her boss? What Kong said was politically incorrect, but for all intents and purposes, based on information and belief, he has made a logical assumption. A bit harsh for my personal taste, but it’s pretty humorous to see this board balk at what he said.
  24. Yes and no, right now it’s an apathetic fizzling out. I’m talking abstain from attendance and tv viewership and be vocal about it on social media. I wouldn’t fault anyone for not wanting to do this of course but just thinking of someway to change course. Not going to pretend like another rebuild or FA are going to fix this. Long as Terry and Kim are running things I don’t think we’re getting out of the cellar. I use to think it was just a series of unfortunate events and I really appreciated the Pegula’s, but I finally think it is them now.
  25. Just north of Albany. I don’t know if a boycott has ever been done on a professional team but it’s better than our fan base just slowly fizzling out a long and painful death. Something has to give.
