  1. Yeah, impressive, just not as impressive as it would be in a normal year. Agree that it probably raised his prospect stock. As for who is #1 on Adams’ board, we certainly don’t know. Would not have guessed that Quinn was top of the board when pick 8 was on the clock last year.
  2. I think he is listed at about 180 everywhere.
  3. I mean, it’s still impressive but it’s not as impressive as if it was a normal year. That’s my only point. In a normal year, he wouldn’t have. I feel pretty sure. Canada generally has plenty of good NHL players to pick from.
  4. Yes, it’s notable. He is good. It’s also notable that these rosters are extremely weak for a men’s world championship tournament. If he is the pick at #1 I’m cautiously ok with it. I seem to like him a little less than most, but I expect him to be a good player.
  5. Very likely true, but we would need to know the thoughts of Pegs/KA/JK to say this with certainty. Completely possible that he is the pick, but I would urge caution if you think this tournament has truly PROVEN anything. It’s nice, but a lot of these players are just not good NHLers. See above. Brakes. Brakes, pump.
  6. I don’t disagree, but it has to be said that this is a very abnormally weak year for the worlds. Many players who would normally go turned it down. I think it’s relevant to consider that.
  7. Power is almost as vital to success as Troy Stecher! Take this kid #1!
  8. No offense, but that’s a terrible idea. If Power is such a good defenseman that he is the best pick at #1, you shouldn’t need to ease him in at F. Playing forward was not part of a planned development path for Byfuglien or Burns.
  9. Weeks earlier? I think you are misremembering how the season went. Before the game on February 28th, Sabres had 14 pts in 16 games. Jack’s last game was March 7th. Before the hit he took on March 7, he didn’t have a neck injury. I don’t think the Sabres would have allowed him to play through a cervical disc herniation.
  10. Undersized? He is like 6’1” 180lbs
  11. Reasonable questions. I don’t know if anyone has an answer. But really, I’m more concerned by your paragraph structure.
  12. Sorry, I wasn’t sure if you meant on the board or out in the public sphere. Though, we do have some members of high repute! Don’t sell us too short.
  13. Wait, what’s this about Beniers being Adams’ guy? Did someone of repute actually say that?
  14. I actually think it’s easier to find D in later rounds than C’s. Who upset you? Who is doing this? Is anyone actually using a single number to decide their stance on prospects’ future?
  15. True, I was more alluding to the idea that he may quickly back off the stance of wanting surgery after being traded.
  16. Using Dobbers tool comes out to 27 for Beniers and 17 for Power. So, Pi, how is 17 for Power going to change the future of this franchise?
  17. For me, I’m definitely looking for a type, and I haven’t seen a lot of separation between the 5-6 guys at the top of this draft, so I’ve been locked into the guy who fits that type, whether it’s at pick 1-2-3.
  18. If you talk to enough doctors, you can find one who tells you what you want to hear. Who is telling him to get the surgery? Someone he went to for a 3rd, 4th opinion?
  19. It seems like majority are on board with taking Power. I many more have talked themselves into him than vice versa. I think as the season has gone on, Power seems to have improved a lot. Personally I think I’m going to need to reevaluate from where I was a couple months ago. I like Beniers a lot, but I want to take another look at Power vs Clarke and Hughes.
  20. Love it
  21. Of course he only wants to be drafted by one team. How could he even get drafted by more than one? It couldn’t even work. He is only mailing letters to 31 teams because Arizona got their first round pick taken away. This is all pretty obvious stuff guys. Don’t know what the fuss is about.
  22. If this board is to maintain consistency, the posts that make up this discussion should be moved to the politics club. The conversation would need to continue there.
  23. Correct. He can refuse a trade to certain teams, but expansion draft is a whole different deal. No protection from that. A full NMC offers expansion draft protection.
  24. With the scouting department in shambles, it’s not really the top pick I worry about. Plenty of time will get allocated to looking at those top guys and there is lots of accessible information out there. It’s the rest of the draft that could really suffer, with players falling through the cracks.
