  1. Honestly hope this is true, because it means that Adams is some sort of master manipulator.
  2. No. KO wouldn’t need to waive his limited no trade clause, because he isn’t being traded. In the scenario presented, he is being selected in the expansion draft, in which he doesn’t need to be protected.
  3. I don’t think they would care. NHL players don’t care about prospects. They care about actual good NHL players, not guys who might be good players two years from now.
  4. NMCs require protection, and take up one of the protected slots. NTCs do not require protection.
  5. I was hoping to open this a see only “Find your own information. Thank Hoss.”
  6. What did he say about Power?
  7. I highly doubt that. We don’t even know if he is going to be good. FA goalies will be interested in $, term, location, and players who are actually good NHLers now.
  8. He fell. Was expected to go in, I’ll say, 6-12ish range. Suffered semi serious injury towards end of draft year, and fell to 17, I think. Recovered and played awesome.
  9. First thing I thought of too.
  10. I’m not at all excited by this win. The team is bad and to my eye there are about 6 guys in the same tier at the top of the draft. I would be ok with any of them, but I personally favor Beniers for his play style.
  11. When is the last time you spoke to him?
  12. They are not similar players. If you want to make the comparison in that way, Beniers put up better scoring numbers, while being a year younger (18 vs 19) while also playing a better 200 ft game.
  13. What are you talking about? He said they are looking for the player who will be best at age 22-23. That makes total sense and is boiler plate GM speak anyway. I don’t see all the negativity that you are getting from it.
  14. Or........... 1- Trade Risto tomorrow 2- Protect Dahlin, Jokiharju, Borgen in expansion 3- Run heavy minute pairs of Dahlin-Borgen, Power-Jokiharju for the next several years. Quote should have been “Here Terry, hold my beer.”
  15. Huh, so they got #1 pick.
  16. I can’t figure out if you guys are trying too hard or not trying hard enough.
  17. I’m sure the Sabres could buy it out if they really wanted to.
  18. Surprisingly, I think you are right. Luke Kunin and Tage Thompson came close, but Eichel was the last.
  19. I’d be shocked if he was signed, even if Botterill was still GM. I just don’t think the GM change plays into. On the surface level he would seem to be the kind of player that Adams would like actually. He has been bad enough that there is absolutely no reason to sign him.
  20. Yeah, I don’t think it’s at all a result of different administration. His play has not warranted a contract any more that any random 22 yr old ECHL player. He is getting cut from SHL teams and playing in the Swedish 2nd rate men’s league, and not putting up impressive numbers there either.
  21. Agree. Maybe not in the 1st, but I think they should at least take one in the 2-3rd.
  22. I think Beniers could get to a higher ceiling than that, but to be honest I’m not opposed to valuing a “low ceiling/high floor” 50 point lockdown 2C who you can play in any game situation and has a great mentality over an 80 point winger who doesn’t do much to help on D.
  23. Colorado is not built similarly. Both teams have talented forwards, yes, but Avs have more F-D balance and their contract structures are nothing alike. Colorado does not have the top heavy, “stars and scrubs” structure that Toronto does.
  24. I think what it comes down to here is that while most would agree that Kim Pegula is without qualification to be the President of the Buffalo Sabres, never mind several other large organizations in addition, and agree that she has done a very poor job as Sabres President, name calling is immature, classless, and actually takes focus away from the point being made.
  25. They can not stop him from getting any procedure. However if he gets something done against the advice of the team, it’s in violation of his contract and could be grounds for to void the remainder of the contract. It’s not enforceable from the standpoint that they can legally bar him from doing something, but the consequences could be cancellation of the contract. But I think you are missing the point of the meeting. The meeting is to decide what to do next based upon the test results from after this 12 week rest/rehab period. Neither side knows what those results are yet.
