The guy initiated the most purposeful and active "Trade Me!" campaign I have ever seen from an NHL player last year! Of course he wanted out. Just not sure we got enough in return for him.

Fasching is a bust so what the hell. Sislo is a career minor leaguer so this is really about taking a new chance with a D-man prospect. Overall, wish we had McNabb.

There was such a dearth of talent on the blue line last year (and the team in general) that I don't think Housley's coaching, good or bad, can really be evaluated. At least the Xs and Os part of it. The team was disinterested and motivated most of the time, and that certainly falls, in part, on Housley, however.

Are you kidding? She is completely unqualified to be the president of 2 pro sports teams. Apparently the positions are "permanent" as of today, but either that won't last or her position will be a figurehead type position at best. I expect her to be surrounded by experienced professionals actually doing the work. PS: Great day for Buffalo! So happy to see Brandon gone. The juicy stuff will start to come out in the next 24-48 hours I believe.

It's hard to say for sure, but for my money, a Drew Doughty/Duncan Keith #1 minute devouring, puck moving, offense-generating horse who can play half a game is more valuable in today's NHL than a stud #1C. The D-man has more impact on the game, largely b/c of how much ice time he can get. Give me a choice between Chara in his prime and McDavid in his prime (when that comes)....I'll take Chara every time. Dude was a shut down, playoff-game-winning horse.

With Dahlin, Risto could go where he belongs, on our #2 pairing. His game would improve dramatically down there. Still can't believe we won.

They did the first part of it on NBCSN. It was from 7:30 to 8:00pm. You haven't missed anything, now that we know we still have a shot at it. Watch the 2nd intermission of the Sharks/Knights game...that's when it will get exciting. I guess we have like a 6 in 10 shot at it now? That's a hell of a lot better than 18.5 in 100.

They showed the spots of everyone but the "Final 3". They are revealing the order of the final 3 during the 2nd intermission of Vegas vs. Sharks. IT's on NBC, the big network, not NBCSN.

I hate to say it, but we need the NHL to lock the players out, miss a season of hockey, and have a little NHL vs. NHLPA war again. The outcome must be this: no more guaranteed contracts. This Sabres Show we have watched all season would not exist if contracts weren't guaranteed. They have pretty much ruined the NHL, at least in the regular season. It's a go along to get along league now.

I would love to see us lose out and finish dead last. The odds at the draft lottery aren't great, but why not max them out? But not tonight! Have to beat Toronto just b/c I can't stand that team and it will be nice to shut up the TO supporters in the building!

I don't think we need to fully blow it up again, but we need to rebuild almost from ground level. It is possible the only name currently on the team who is still on the team in 3 or 4 years is Eichel. Among the current group, who should stay? They are all expendable.

Quite a disappointing no-show in a season full of them.

Weak return on our most tradable asset, and with no other moves being made. This team is going to be bad for a while.
