  1. I didn’t miss anything, respectfully I think you did how many times do I need to say it? I do not care if it is cosmetic - that’s not a deterrent to me wanting to see the change. Adams deserves to be fired so he should be fired. i cannot make it anymore clear that Adams getting fired is a big part of the reward in and of itself. I want to see him fired because he’s terrible at his job and that job has hurt my beloved team. I want to see him pay the price, if they fire Adams and Terry takes over as GM that day I’ll *still* be happier than I am now: one less yokel getting a free ride by tearing apart the Sabres I want the criminals locked up even if they’ll just be replaced with more criminals: it’s not just about society, it’s about the individual criminals themselves seeing justice. I want Adams to see justice even if Terry doesn’t. Perfect won’t be the enemy of good for me.
  2. The attempt by my roster has left us scarred and deformed, but I assure you my resolve has never been stronger.
  3. What I’m trying to say is there is a very, real scenario where there’s no perfect option. A very real scenario where bending on “BPA” is the best option. You can’t just adhere to the parameters blindly that aren’t getting you anywhere. It would be delusional to think the perfect trade exists and in the same vein foolish to rule out the idea we may need to squint at the margins a bit to ensure we draft a high potential F yes, maybe the guy you take is a 88/100 on your board and you have a dman at 90/100 but the handcuff your self impose by prioritizing the extra 2/100 would in fact be more detrimental the sabres are GOING to take a hit in the trade, if they can even make one. You can’t pie in the sky the reality if you actually care about the results. Would absolutely make sense to consider you may lose less value simply by “reaching” for a F. You can’t pretend all else is equal in terms of being able to recoup the value later if you naively adhered to hardline drafting rules. BPA works in theory. The theory doesn’t amount to anything if you allow the randomness of the system to supersede your ability to build a team. It’s no good allowing randomness and luck in combination with your self imposed rigidity to result in a scenario where you simply don’t ever come away with the F. It would be more beneficial to relax on some of the rigidity and take your chances with a forward: the scenario where you continually take a D and “worry about the rest later” doesn’t maximize the assets either: that’s the myth
  4. If history suggests they won’t trade the pick it hammers home the idea we won’t be able to trade the guy the fans don’t want anymore for the player they couldn’t draft. They won’t draft a D and then trade a D we already have for the forward we actually wanted to draft, complete pipe dream if they want the good young F they’ll need to make the selection for that player or use the pick in a swap for such. The player we’ve already driven off the lot with the flaws exposed isn’t going to get a player without massive question marks. We don’t need another Norris
  5. “Likely” remains a drastic improvement on the current “certainly”, and the canning of Adams is worth it on its face even if no improvement is gained due to the simple fact he objectively deserves to be fired and it expresses an modicum of accountability- by far the largest weakness of the team/franchise there is zero argument for not firing Adams today. There is only an argument it might not work. Those aren’t the same thing Also, as a fan, it would be ridiculously hubristic for me to suggest I am one of one. I would gain an immense amount of satisfaction from Adams being canned simply because I don’t like him and what he’s done to the team - there’s no way I am the only one that feels that way. He traded my favourite player away for job security and I maintained it was a mistake at the time amidst opposing voices and that’s only been borne out more true over time. Justice is valuable in and of itself and if we lose that there’s no point to anything. Adams being fired is as much about wanting to see it just to see it as it is about improving the team - I think people miss that a bit hockey is an entertainment product, like film. I am no longer entertained by what this director has to offer and I’d like to see someone else’s interpretation of how to field a team under Terry terrible owner Pegula. I don’t watch sabres games right now. I will watch if Adams is canned. I’m not one of one
  6. This has me thinking about forwards and our ability to attain them and I think it would be extremely beneficial to trade Norris right now for a draft pick or something, this would be a case where we’d severely be talking addition by subtraction I think. If he’s on the roster at all next year you know he’s going to factor into top 6 C plans especially due to contract and that just can’t happen. I’d take the hole, outright. If the baby is allowed to keep the scissors here to play with bad things are going to happen. The threat of Norris needs to be alleviated
  7. The sabres willingly entered into a Kobayashi Maru when they retained Adams and Co for this season
  8. Hopefully whoever the GM is once spring starts is able to find a way to make a F (prefer a C by far) happen with the pick. They certainly can’t just go up there and take another D man imo
  9. Or the pick itself by trading it now or later Mystery box retains the most value these “just trade someone else to fill the void” theories never actually happen if they want a high end young F they’ll need to use the pick, one way or another
  10. BPA is the rule the Sabres have, like in so many other ways, become the exception to. They simply need to draft a C with their next high pick
  11. Live look in at a Sabres team that has averaged 78 points per season under Adams for 5 straight years Year 6 current: 77 points a shocking turn of events to be sure
  12. This. If they elect a LT rebuild it’s DOA
  13. I’m not giving up on the season but I don’t have to back down from my line of “Adams gets 5 years” once year 6 starts lmao
  14. Absolutely better to blow the whole thing. No may and maybe about it Jarmo i guess is open to interpretation
  15. One iota of management cleansing may have helped
  16. I did, we’ve had this conversation a few months back and you intimated that you wouldn’t be opposed to seeing what Adams could do “unencumbered”. You’ve changed your stance since then - to that I said congrats and welcome to the wiserhood
  17. Because Terry doesn’t care as much about the sabres. He doesn’t understand hockey and the combo led to him hiring an awful GM. The theory he’s just hiring a yes man doesn’t fit anymore and hasn’t for a while - Bills comp proves it. He hired the guy who was already inclined to build the team in a fashion he liked. And he lets him flounder because he’s a terrible owner for the sabres
  18. In the macro, sure: like all owners. The reason he can stay away day to day is because he *agrees with* Adams. of COURSE it is the job of the gm to convince the owner of a good team building tact. We can say Adams is incapable of doing this, which makes him an utter failure, but in reality it’s worse: he and the owner simply see it the same way. No convincing necessary it’s not a competent GM who’s having his good ideas shot down by a buffoon, it’s a buffoon who brings incompetent ideas to the table because he was chosen by someone who shares his incompetence
  19. Plan was always a slow play rebuild. This is why Eichel asked to be traded. Remember
  20. There are there are folks who refuse to lambast his performance without a caveat. When you will quite literally never offer a job critique of said person without including the caveat it’s incredibly telling
  21. Exactly, absentee If the sabres started out with a new owner tomorrow, be honest: you’d give Adams a chance at GM You aren’t fooling anyone lol He doesn’t get it
  22. The reaction differential between wins and losses remains comedy
  23. A start would be not saddling him with rookies like Rosen and Östlund. Imo we should be loading up on one line - it’s better than having no lines I don’t care if you have to run McLeod - Thompson - Tuch ..that should be the first line if “balanced lines” isn’t achieving the required result. Then… Doan - Kozak - …..Quinn? Sheesh, the lack of F work from Adams over several years is frankly striking. Benson and Zucker are sorely missed but..it’s not like you ever have no injuries - - - At least do: Doan - Thompson - Tuch Östlund/Rosen - McLeod - Quinn ..facilitating the performance of Tage should be the primary concern. If he isn’t going we don’t have anything going
