  1. Classic! Classic sabres Always outsmarting other teams and adding by subtracting
  2. I don’t think so. It’s pretty close to 22-23 cozens considering how wonky plus minus is you arbitrarily chose the 11 game framing to begin with. 17gp 3G 7A 10P -2 Is not far from 22-23 cozens to my eye. Granted he’d need more like 13 points instead of 10. But considering sample size i see their framing as generous but not egregious
  3. It’ll be a good test of how much Tuch actually “wants to be here”, if anyone does it’s him, right? im never the team discount guy but a “fair” deal to Tuch probably puts us in a bad position sooner or later: this is Tuch’s *1* big chance at a huge deal and he’s entering into his age 30 years peak “paying for past performance” deal tread ridiculously carefully We’ve used his best years in the immediate aftermath of torpedoing the team for 5 years Yup
  4. Nope time isn’t a valuable variable
  5. What the heck would this place look like if we weren’t the worst nhl franchise of the last 15 years holy crap on a cracker! I honestly respect it
  6. Look at the freaking map.
  7. I think we still have a regulation loss allowable in our back pocket
  8. Drop the sarcasm? Yes sir I’ll get right on that
  9. 14 years straight, baby! Sabres officially eliminated
  10. Shooting percentage sabres We are legitimately going to snipe our way to a 10 game winning streak to end the year and still miss by a full 5 points insanity
  11. It’s no different than leaving out the fact he had 5 assists in that time frame tbh everyone frames
  12. Whether or not the “pendulum has shifted” is far less relevant than their willingness to bet on it, in spite of countless evidence to the contrary. The critical error is acting like it’s not a manual transition and decision: the first time the pendulum swing will be real is when they approach the offseason as if it is not you can hope for the best but you can’t plan for it: if they address the roster reflective of statistical likelihoods that it hasn’t turned a corner, they’ll go a long way towards ensuring that it did They shape the narrative from here: that’s the catch whether or not the corner was turned is both Schrödinger’s cat, and paradoxical: it can be either, we haven’t chosen yet
  13. “A lot of teams wish they had their stockpile of talent” “You can say it was a disappointing year, but it many ways they gotta go through this stuff.” 🫡
  14. Granato on sportsnets The FAN 590 just now “The sabres are still the youngest team in the league….no one wants to give that the time of day.”
  15. Right - the fact they accomplish these things when the games “matter”, too, yet consistently miss the playoffs is precisely the point It’s not a defence mechanism, it’s Pavlov’s dog
  16. Most relevant has always been that is hasn’t mattered, not that it couldn’t have the meme persists because it’s never been accompanied with an actual good team. Even if it takes time and hindsight to reveal that fact as true. the continued insistence of putting value in these stretches in the moment is what’s tiring. Like right now. The stats from these games mean nothing demonstrably. As you point out: we see it in short stretches fairly frequently. Because it’s an 82 game season and that’s how math works in large numbers
  17. You’ll know this team has finally made it when comments about their play and record aren’t preceded by “since”
  18. The overall make of the the team isn’t good enough, lots of areas of need Yup, the sabres have always had a good team. Adams problem was actually adding too many guys
