  1. Was there anything he said that should be of note?? Missed most of the post game because of the World Series.
  2. I'm glad you put that last quote in their WC, because I think MoJo is a temporary fix until Mitts is ready and if you've watched Casey's last few games he's slowly but surely starting to look like our future 2C. He's leading his line right now and they are looking more dangerous each and every game. Unlike d4rksabre, I don't think the GLO line was demoted per se but Casey's line was promoted with their recent play.
  3. VS Your 7-1-1 Buffalo Sabres play the 2nd leg of a west coast back to back/home to home game against the San Jose Sharks. After a successful road trip of winning the last 2 games and being the #1 team in the Eastern Conference and tied for the #1 spot in the League and the fancy stats not showing so far that this is not a total contradiction to the actual truth, this wouldn't be The Aud Club without wanting someone kicked off the 2nd line, preferably someone on the 3rd line also and our resident DMan who still sucks but we expect a top 6 forward in return for a trade and our top line just isn't holding up in 5v5. Meanwhile the Sabres are 4-0 at home and hopefully that trend will continue tonight. All 4 lines are contributing in different ways and in different games, another trend we'd like to see continue. Are this years Sabres as good as the teams below, probably not but Dream On sabres fans (Dream On)*. Courtesy of: https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com TONIGHT’S GAME SHARKS at SABRES This is the second of two meetings between the Sabres and Sharks this season. Last meeting: Buffalo defeated San Jose 4-3 in San Jose on Oct. 19 The Sabres are 5-4-1 in their last 10 games vs. the Sharks; 7-2-1 at home. October 22, 2011: Brad Boyes plays in his 500th NHL game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. A STRONG START Regardless of tonight’s result, the Sabres’ record through the team’s first 10 games of the season will rank within the top five starts in franchise history: Rank Season Record Points 1st 2006-07 10-0-0 20 pts. Only had 2 players play all 82 games, Ales Kotalik who ended up being 3rd leading scorer and LD Henrik Tallinder who broke his arm in the 3rd game of the Eastern Conference Finals and at the time was a +14 and led all players in the playoffs that year. Lindy Ruff was named the Jack Adams Award winner for coach of the year in the closest voting for this award up to that time. (89’-90’) 98 Points in 80 games Just to break up the 70’s teams and the 00’ teams. The team’s leading scorer was Pierre Turgeon who was tied in goals with D.Andreychuk with 40 and also had 66 assists. The team was 2nd in the Adams Division and 2nd in the Eastern Conference. This season featured the NHL debuts of Alex Mogilny, Rob Ray and Donald Audette. The team had a stretch in late October to early November where they won 13 lost 2 and tied 3. Daren Puppa, Pierre Turgeon, Phil Housley and Dave Andreychuk made the NHL All Star Game and Daren Puppa was NHL 2nd team All Star. LETS GO BUFFALO *Courtesy of Aerosmith
  4. Glad they're safe!! One went thru our neighborhood a few years ago, it would literally tear up one house skip another and tear up the third one. It's just a terribly destructive freak of nature.
  5. No way we win these last 2 games with the Eichel line not scoring any points last year. All 3 goals Thursday came from the 4th line and 2 for the 2nd line, 1 from the 3rd and 1 from the 4th yesterday. Can we finally depend on every line to contribute this year?? Caught the game from just before Casey's deflection goal after watching a very exciting Yankees/Astros game. Boys looked good doing it, deserved the win. Whatever RK is preaching is being listened to. * Also thank you for all the kind posts on the GDT start, it's appreciated.*
  6. Oh boo hoo hoo. The Yankees lost again, boo hoo hoo. The Houston Astros are the best team in baseball. Get over it, if you hate the Astros you are missing one of the great teams of all time. Yes I said it, Nats pitching will keep the series interesting but 6 games at most. Astros have been nothing short of dominate at home this year.
  7. VS Your Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference leading Buffalo Sabres play another late game on the best West Coast at San Jose tonight. Is the defense playing well?? Even the national experts can't seem to agree or decide who's going to be the leading candidate to get traded when Montour comes back. Is the offense playing well?? Every forward line has been on the ice for multiple goals and stars of the game so far this year, including twice by the 4th line led by Mitts and Sheary. Is the GK's playing well?? Both GK's have been the #1 star of the game including back to back shutouts by Carter (the starter) Hutton. What can go wrong?? Oh please don't remind us of last year (please don't do it, don't you break our hearts, PLEAAAASE)*. Tonights game is also the last game of this 3 game west coast trip. 8. You may well be right but I see Casey as another Samson at this stage but he doesn't have an ROR and/or Eichel to take the brunt of the pressure off of him. I think once he finds his niche, he'll be fine. I don't think he's ever going to play a LOG line role although he could learn a thing or 2 from that line.
  9. The eggplant emoji is a long, purple eggplant, but it’s really just used to represent a penis. Are you chewing on those blue pills again??
  10. I'm almost afraid to ask, what are those things, Chinese pickles???
  11. VS Your Buffalo Sabres will try and continue it's winning ways and try for 4 wins in a row against a 4-2 Ducks team. After a convincing win over the Stars and a successful 3 game home stand they will take their game on the road for a 3 game swing in California. The team is now 2nd in the league in points, 1st in Goal differential and 1st in the league in power play percentage and goals, tied for 4th in Goals per game with the Bolts of Tampa and 5th in the league in Goals against per game. None of that reads like luck to me. The Ducks have been winning with a 1.67 goals against per game average so expect them to try and slow the Sabres down. Tonight will also be the 1st game in the Sabres 14 back to back games this season https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com TONIGHT’S GAME SABRES at DUCKS This is the first of two meetings between the Sabres and Ducks this season. October 16, 2009: Tyler Myers scores his first NHL goal and Jason Pominville scores his 100th NHL goal in a 6-3 win at home against the New York Islanders. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW The Sabres are 5-0-1 through six games. 12. I only caught the 2nd half of the game after work on Fox Sw, the Dallas feed. They were impressed with the Sabres, stating they're a different team than last year. They were also highly impressed with the power play and how well they moved the puck and how quickly they did it. They also thought that Miro Heiskanen is a better all around defenseman than Dahlin, and that he was at this point in his career just an offensive DMan. As for my takes on this team, the team defense is much better than last year, the power play is just outstanding especially the puck movement. Olofsson may not be a one trick pony but that one trick is pretty dang good. We have a pretty good 2nd line. MJ was an underrated pickup this offseason. I really liked his game with the Bruins in the playoffs last year but he's a better all around player than I gave him credit for also. He's blended in with Skinner pretty seamlessly. Dallas may have not gotten off to a very good start this year but this is a disciplined, big and was expected to be a playoff team again this year, so this was another impressive win for the Sabres. Broke the Bishop jinx and was the first time of recent vintage we outplayed the Stars.
  13. I thought Goff was nothing short of AWESOME this week. What gives???
  14. ^^^^^^ I never mentioned Risto
  15. Sabres getting a little national pub https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/27840395/the-nhl-best-worst-week-buffalo-sabres-real AND: Games of the week Monday, Oct. 14: Dallas Stars at Buffalo Sabres We just wrapped up the second week of the season, but the 1-4-1 Stars are already preaching the importance of the upcoming four-game road swing. "Everyone in here, including myself, needs to have a playoff mentality going on this road trip," Tyler Seguin told a reporter this week. "If you're chasing behind in this league, like everyone knows, that St. Louis season doesn't happen every year. " Meanwhile, you just read plenty of words about the Sabres' hot start.
  16. I wonder if the Arizona Coyotes get interested with Niklas Hjalmarsson going down
  17. VS. Your Buffalo Sabres will attempt to continue their opening 5 game point streak against the Dallas Stars this afternoon. They are also undefeated at home so far and can take the overall lead in points this season in the Eastern Conference with a win. At this point in the season only the Carolina Hurricanes have more points in the Eastern Conference with a game in hand. Another hard to imagine thing that's happened this season is every line 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in whatever order you please has had a player have a multiple point game this year. Dallas has had a rough start to the year but is still a dangerous team. Curtis Lazar was called up presumably to take Sheary's spot on the roster for today's game and the upcoming West Coast trip. https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com THIS DATE IN SABRES HISTORY The Sabres are 8-10-1 all-time on October 14. October 14, 1971: Mike Robitaille scores his first goal as a member of the Sabres. October 14, 2006: Chris Drury records his first and only hat trick in a Sabres uniform in a 7-4 win over the New York Rangers. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW The Sabres are 4-0-1 through five games. It’s the first time Buffalo has started a season with points in five straight games since the team went 6-0-2 through its first eight games of the 2008-09 season. Buffalo is looking to start the season with wins in each of the team’s first four home games for the first time since the 2006-07 season. Through four games, the Sabres have already gotten points from 15 different players this season. Jack Eichel (3+4), Rasmus Dahlin (1+6), Victor Olofsson (4+1) and Sam Reinhart (2+3) have all tallied five or more points through the team’s first five contests. Linus Ullmark has allowed two or fewer goals in each of his three career games against the Stars, making 77 saves on 82 shots (.939 save percentage) in those contests. VIC-O MODE All four of Victor Olofsson’s goals this season have come on the power play, good for second in the league in power-play goals entering play Sunday. He also led all rookies in goals (4) and shots (14), tied for first in points (5), and led rookie forwards in ice time per game (18:11). Since he made his NHL debut on March 28, 2019 vs. Detroit, no NHL player has scored more power-play goals than Olofsson’s six in 11 games played. He has tied an NHL record by becoming the fourth player in NHL history to score each of his first four career goals with a man advantage, joining Craig Norwich, Sylvain Turgeon and Jeff Norton. PLAYING WITH POWER The Sabres entered play Sunday with the No. 1 power play in the league, converting on a league-high eight of their 19 power plays this season (42.1%). According to NaturalStatTrick.com, Buffalo also ranked among the league’s leaders in shot generation with the man advantage, averaging 2.50 shots (3rd) and 4.00 shot attempts (4th) per two minutes of power-play time. Continuing the 50th Anniversary IMO the greatest Goalies in Sabres History: All stats are Sabre records: Dominik Hasek: 2nd in Games played, 2nd in Wins, 1st in Save Percentage, 1st in Goals Against Average, 1st in Shutouts, At his peak possibly greatest goalie ever Ryan Miller: 1st in Games Played, 1st in Wins, 1st in Shots against, 1st in Saves, 3rd in Save Percentage, 3rd in Goals Against Average, 2nd in Shutouts Marty Biron: 4th in Games Played, 4th in Wins, 2nd in Goals Against Average, 4th in Shots Against, 4th in Saves, 5th in Save Percentage, 3rd in Shutouts Tom Barrasso: 5th in Games Played, 5th in Wins, 5th in Shots Against, 5th in Saves, 5th in Shutouts Roger Crozier: 8th in Games Played, 8th in Wins, 8th in Goals Against, 7th in Saves, 7th in Save Percentage, 6th in Shutouts, LETS GO BUFFALO
  18. It's time to just let it go Mr. Flagg, it'll be a transforming experience.
  19. So far not to many Nostradamus' in the bunch Stop it, just stop it now ?
  20. My takes: Good game, I thought we out played them except for the last 10 minutes or so. Larry doesn't break his stick we win in regulation The defense both on the back end and team defense is much improved over last year I don't understand the Risto hate for that matter the Vlad or Vesey hate either HCRK shortens the bench at the end of the game and it appears he takes out the young guys not because they're playing bad but I don't think he trusts them yet to finish it off for him. Mitts, Goalofsson, now ERod and a bit surprised by Dahlin although he didn't play great, it's a great locker room move, no-one is untouchable The GLO, LOG, GOL line, whatever we want to call it has without doubt answered the bell to start the season, so glad these guys getting some love For all the angst with Vesey's defense when he was acquired, he's getting PK time and doesn't sit to finish off games and I think he's doing his role. He looks more noticeable when playing with the Jack-Sam line 4-0-1 to start the season against some of the teams we'll be battling for a possible playoff spot, SWEET That Barkov line is a beast Those SO goals by Jack and Mitts were so good to end the game. Bobs had no chance with either.
  21. Please do not pick on d4rdsabre otherwise he might sic the superstitious josie wales after you
  22. In fairness to JW, this is what prompted his tweet.
  23. Well I mistakenly thought this was a Vlad thread but yes physicality isn't everything, and hits isn't everything and points isn't everything but did you know that Risto is the 9th leading scorer for defensemen in Sabre history and if he lasts the year here, he may jump 1 and possibly 2 spots on that list. I don't think he's quite as bad as some allude here. Norris trophy candidate probably not but he is more an asset to the team than a detriment.
  24. VS. Your Buffalo Sabres will be looking to start the season with 3 consecutive wins at home tonight. The team may need some tweaks mostly defensively but they are playing better, faster and what appears to be outstanding effort. So far it appears last games lineup will play again tonight as HCRK doesn't appear to like the constant line changes of our previous coach. We currently have 2 Sabres in the top 10 in scoring and 6 in the top 50. Risto is 23rd in the league in TOI as of today. We are also tied for 3rd in goals per game with the Tampa Bay Lightning who also blasted the Loafs of Toronto last night. PANTHERS at SABRES This is the first of four meetings between the Sabres and Panthers this season. Last meeting: Florida defeated Buffalo 4-2 in Florida on Feb. 19. Next meeting: Sunday, Nov. 24 in Florida The Sabres are 2-7-1 in their last 10 games vs. the Panthers; 4-6-0 at home. This is the 101st game all-time between Buffalo and Florida; Buffalo has a 49-42-9 series record. The Sabres are 28-19-4 at home against the Panthers all-time. THIS DATE IN SABRES HISTORY The Sabres are 7-5-3 all-time on October 11. October 11, 1979: Lindy Ruff scores in his first NHL game, a 6-3 win vs. Washington, becoming the first Sabres defenseman ever to score in his NHL debut. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW The Sabres are 3-0-1 through four games. It’s the first time Buffalo has started a season with points in four straight games since the team went 4-0-1 through its first five games of the 2009-10 season. Buffalo is looking to start the season with wins in each of the team’s first three home games for the first time since the 2008-09 season. PLAYING WITH POWER The Sabres entered play Thursday with the second-ranked power play in the league, converting on a league-high eight of their 15 power plays this season (53.3%). According to NaturalStatTrick.com, Buffalo also ranked among the league’s leaders in shot generation with the man advantage, averaging 2.94 shots (2nd) and 4.41 shot attempts (2nd) per two minutes of power-play time. With two power-play goals in each of their last three games, the Sabres have scored multiple power-play tallies in three straight games for the first time since March 4 to 7, 2009. With two or more power-play goals tonight, they would stretch that streak to four games for the first time since they went five games with multiple power-play goals from Feb. 21 to March 1, 1996. Continuing the 50th Anniversary IMO the greatest Defensivemen in Sabres History: All stats are Sabre records: Mike Ramsey: 3rd in Games Played, 6th in +/-, 8th in Penalty Minutes, 2nd in Points by DMan, 2nd in Goals by DMan Phil Housley: 4th in Assists, 5th in Points, 10th in Power Play Goals, 1st in Points by DMan, 3rd in Power Play Goals on ice for Alexei Zhitnik: 9th in Games Played, 3rd in Points by DMan, 9th in Power Play Goals on ice for, 1st in Short Handed Goals by DMan Jim Schoenfeld: 3rd in +/-, 7th in Penalty Minutes, 7th in Points by DMan Bill Hajt: 5th in Games Played, 2nd in +/-, 6th in Points by DMan, Jerry Korab: 5th in Points by DMan, 3rd in Goals by DMan, 10th in Penalty Minutes, 3rd in Power Play Goals by DMan LETS GO BUFFALO
